Yes. I'd love to see a course on tuning using the tune bot. it seems everyone is still using drum dialers, and finding tune bot based instruction has turned up nothing for me. (I mean, they're pretty self explanatory. but everyone still describes their tuning in tension and not actual tuning frequencies or notes).
@@rakatai.i.i8739 both really. But some suggested tuning frequencies for different sized toms would be great. Even just to get a ballpark idea of what others are doing.
Drums tuning is a great idea. I'm always complaining about drummers that can't tune, and even if I can get a grasp on how to do it, a course would be GREATLY APPRECIATED ! :')
Dave Weckle did one in 1990 that is probably on YT. Very informative. I think Tempesta did one too that used to come on DVD when you bought a Tama kit.
I'd love to see a tutorial about snare mixing 😎 Btw the game changer to me is the drum leveler. I remember vividly that when I tried it 2 years ago or so, in conjunction with a great eq, it just gave me a great powerful kick right out of the box without the need to use samples. Love that plugin
This is awesome! Can you do a snare/toms version? Would be cool to see these in action when making a sample and also dealing with full drum recording context to see how you deal with bleed etc.
The best thing about this video is 'The Burning' beanie. I wore my shirt proudly onstage at Donington, was planning to get the singer up onstage with us when we played Denmark but the tour got cancelled.
Hey Krisitian! I am a producer in the making from Israel (studying of course) and i just wanted to let you know how much i enjoy watching your videos and how i learn soooo much from them.. Keep up the amazing work and thanks for everything! Keep it metal \m/
you definitely should do a video about tuning! especially for the Snaredrum.. so many people dont know how to properly tune their god damn snare and just crank up everything you can crank
Awesome info here to mix my band's drummer's demos 🤘!! I would love to see how you process toms, I always have a hard time bringing them in your face! Thanks Kohle 🍻
Awesome. Great video. Thanks Kristian. A drum tuning video would be great. It would also be great to learn how to deal best with bleed on a very fast played, dense and busy drum track with a high microphone track count where a lot of cymbals and tom action is involved.
Your mix workflow on this kick blew my mind. Really opened my eyes to how these modern drums are being mixed and where I’m falling short in some areas. I’m not mixing metal hardly ever. But some of these techniques will greatly help with what I AM doing. Thanks much!
As for Transient Designers, check out the Audio Assault Multi Transient. It allows you to process the signal in four frequency bands seperately and I use it on all my drums.
@@KohleAudioKult Yea I get you. But hey, it's on sale right now. With so much for only 7$ you've got nothing to lose ;) audio-assault.com/multitransient.php
Great video!! I've actually started using a thin single ply head ( remo ambassador) as kick batter, as I've found it actually has a clear attack and naturally less lows...the last thing I would have thought to work 😂
WOW!! I am an engineer and a drummer who has been playing and recording myself and my bands for almost 15 years. But this is the most indepth tutorial on how to get my desired sound, and wow I have nearly all the equipment already1! I can't believe the rest of the kit is not processed at all. Wow. It already sounds so good. Too bad all the plugins combined sum up to hundreds of euros. But the drum leveler seems worth it, honestly.
Another amazing help full video Kristian! Really love em.. I appreciate that you include not only mixing but recording techniques to get to the sound you want. Would also love to try your I.Rs!!🤘
once again an awesome video. Actually any video on drums would be amazing, I personally struggle the most with snare sound (especially when choosing how high to tune it, and how/if to use gate on it in the mix).

As my mentor said, faster the tempo and more notes to be played - less low frequencies you need in your kick. Low kicks for groovey, high kicks for blasts
