- Recently I have replaced the stock projector to Hella G5 setup. The light output is exceptional. So, sharing my experience here.

Just wow!! I am really envious because you know your way around cars and put them back together and because after market lights are not a thing in the EU. Even the retrofrit LED blulbs aren't legal for all cars yet and I am dying to get them and finally see better at night. The stock projector lamps of the Rapid/Fabia are pretty much useless... unfortunately.

I did this exact same setup for my Rapid from Motofocuz last year. It was very helpful during my stay in native where I had to travel through curvy rubber estate roads at night. Light output is good even for highways.
i too got done the same at motofocuz chennai all the way travelled 150kms to get it done after seeing your video very much satisifed with their work and approach.

Watched the video. You have got good throw. One suggestion though; you have used 5500 k in low beam and 6000 k in high beam. This leads to a mismatch between both the lights when you put on the high beam. If you use one colour, 5500 or 6000, in both beams, the light impact would have been more consistent and easy on the eyes. This point may not be a big issue for those driving short drives, but it affects in a longer duration. For long drives, it would make a big difference. Just a suggestion. You did a good job putting everything back on your own.
I also need to change my current setup. My Rapid is 2013 model and comes with H4 socket in a a single dome with both high and low beams in the same bulb. I had changed that to HIDs long back but now need to change. Planning to for the 2014-15 model headlights which came with a projector for low beam and reflector for high beam. Will put HID in the projector for low beam and LED bulb for the high beam. I understand that putting 2014-15 assy in 2013 model may throw some challenges, but someone here in Bangalore has promised it can be done. Seems these people did the mods - czcams.com/video/IpDwOjUXzy4/video.html Searching for the headlight assy but not able to source it till now.

What upgrade you did to high beam. I trying to find a good led for my rapid (high beam)
Also How did you put led to high beam? There is less gap between housing and led bulb holder in rapid's headlight

Thats because of headlight alignment brother..it was aiming too high..corrected!

one question , i have pretty good amount of fogging up on my Taigun headlamp unit during rains.. But goes away in say 45-60 minutes after rain.
is it normal or should i be concerned ?
It's common in new Octavia, superb too..i did notice in my car too while driving in Kerala rains..later it disappeared. Did nothing about it..

Either you can get it from the used spare parts dealer, or get it directly from Skoda. What year is your car?

@@chopperboy994 The best solution for you would be to approach your nearest Skoda service centre and buy it from there. Since it would be plug and play, they will even do the installation as well.
What happened to your existing headlights? I myself am searching for 2014-15 model Rapid headlights but in the used car market the cost is very high, almost similar to the cost of a new one from Skoda. Thats why I said better to get it directly from Skoda.
