"But we were listening to you because we've done that. We've got an incredible economy and we've got the most people ever working in the history of the state, the lowest unemployment rate in the history of the state. We've had two record years in a row for jobs and investment, the economic prosperity that we're using that money to help you fight the 40 year high inflation caused by the Biden agenda in Washington, D.C."

    STORYLINE:
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has thrown his weight behind a state Supreme Court justice he appointed to win Tuesday's non-partisan election.
Republican Kemp is supporting Justice Andrew Pinson against John Barrow, a former Democratic congressman who has built his campaign around abortion rights.
At least two religiously conservative groups are also spending to support Pinson, while some backers of abortion rights are trying to mobilize votes for Barrow.
Georgia's law bans most abortions once a “detectable human heartbeat” is present.
Cardiac activity can be detected by ultrasound in cells within an embryo that will eventually become the heart as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.
That means most abortions in Georgia are effectively banned at a point before many women know they are pregnant.
The law includes exceptions for rape and incest, as long as a police report is filed.
It also allows for later abortions when the mother’s life is at risk or a serious medical condition renders a fetus unviable.
