- Click Here To Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - Spring is finally here and it's time to get the yard work started. Just like every year before, my wife asked me to clean up the front garden. Well, I am more prepared then ever to take on this task. I cracked open a cold one.. and got to work right away. Digging the garden and smoothing out the top soil. The sun was shining, the sky dotted with clouds - but that didn't slow me down a bit.
The Excavator I got at "RC4WD". It's an online store that sells heavy duty equipment at a fairly decent price. Let's face it - for those that know, RC construction equpiment is expensive, but there are ways to do things yourself. (ps - here's the store link for RC4WD store.rc4wd.com)
The Tonka truck was converted for me by an RC ADDiCT and fabricator "JRPRC" here is his CZcams channel: / juddphillips He's got a FULL Build Video Series if you are interested in converting your OWN Tonka Truck in to a working RC!
The Tonka Truck is an Axial SCX10 trail truck, broken down to fit on the chassis of the Tonka Truck. I DID Switch the Tires to a larger size. I wanted maximum height on the dump truck, and as it has NO suspension the tires really count. I also got the tires & rims at RC4WD. The Axial SCX10 I got at PMHobbycraft.com (my local hobby store.) I am powering the truck with a GensAce Battery (3s 5000mah) Lipo. I go the battery at Hobbypartz.com
The excavator is an original "Graupner". The plastic on the cab was SO Old it became brittle. On a roll over, it shattered. but no matter - as spring/summer time loading can be done in an open cab! I think my driver enjoyed the fresh air. You can not buy this loader anymore - it is an "antique"!
All of my RC construction equipment is hydraulic based. All but the Dump Truck. The dump truck is powered by "Actuonix Motion Devices" actuators. ( www.actuonix.com) Check out there amazingly powerful equipment for RC!
My friends, I hope you enjoyed my video today..and I earned your Like click and Subscription!

You are that kid who always has all the cool toys
Love the tonka truck! But when loading with the excavator don't mash the loaf down with the bucket, it will make the loading process look far more realistic! Great episode! I love the construction ones!
Hey awesome, glad you enjoyed the video. Don't know why people keep telling me "how to make it more realistic".. 'cause all I'm doing is RC'ing for fun! It looks pretty real to me :) Haha.. Modellkran1 is pretty good for scale looking stuff - I'm not too worried about looking like full scale rigs.. cause in my imagination.. everything looks awesome!
True Aaron! Hey tahs what it's all
About having fun! Keep up the great videos and thanks for the reply! You definitely got
Me into my first scale rig I had only been into the racing off-road buggies!
The Tonka truck is sweet. I have to build one now!
Wow Aaron, a new big Dump Truck from Tonka :0)) This is great!!!
yeh thats the best way to clean up the yard for sure! lol
Now you need a bull dozer and a grader ... You'll be all set to build Jem a cool pathway around the house :)
Wife, "Hey honey, when will you be done with the yard work?" Husband, "Not sure. Damn crew went union on me. They're saying they can't work under these unsafe conditions."
I love the video! I was born and raised in Mound Minnesota where Tonka Toys was founded. Had both friends and family members that worked there.
this is mesmerizing
Funnest way in the world to get your gardening done I'll tell you what I usually don't like these that you actually got a like out of this one mainly because of the Tonka truck but I also noticed something else the massive scale of your dozers Wow and those things must be heavy the way they packed down the dirt the way they do that was pretty realistic looking and I tell you what the kid inside of me is freaking in love you're a madman and I love you for it thanks for the awesome video and Aaron/medic
Absolutely love the Tonka!!! Nice to see it make a comeback. I remember when me and some friends would sit in them and ride them down hills. Tough little trucks! Nice job.
That tonka conversion is a beast!
Nice/fun way to do yard work. Now all Medic needs is a street sweeper for the walkway and done!
Absolutely brilliant Medic!
Personally I think you should add some sort of flex to it, maybe a radius arm type setup would be easy.
About one week ago I was cleaning and I thought about doing this same thing!!! Awesome job keep it up medic
As I watched this, I was thinking to myself, 'There's probably much faster ways to do this work', however it would not be nearly as much fun!! Keep the fun videos coming medic!
Down in the states, Texas anyway, we have 811 or "Call before you dig" to locate lines in the ground. If you keep getting better with your excavator, your going to have to use the "Click before you dig" you guys have up in Canada! Great video Medic.
Used to have a Tonka so I totally Dig this....Great work on transforming!!!
Looks like fun, especially the excavator.
why do i find this so amusing lol. probably because iv never seen working hydrolics on an rc before. very cool!
Nice to see an old tonka reused :) You should try fitting it with lights later on :)
Turning a TONKA into an RC!!! Awesome bro!!! What's next, will you get your hands on some classic Tyco RC's like the twin turbo lamborghini, or make an RC crawler out of the old school GIANT Toy.
Medic you should build a short course track with your construction RC's!
Super cool! My whole family loved this vid! P.s. My oldest brat suggested that you spray the dump bed with cooking spray to make the dirt slide out easier. :) crazy kids!
I like the wheels and tires you picked for the truck
Kind of jealous of Medic's kid right now -- not gonna lie.
A skidsteer would be pretty sweet for leveling out the dirt
Thats how he gets the yard work done!
Great video as always! Thanks
Ahhhh yes the days of childhood and my huge Tonka Fleet!!!!1
had them all but none like this one and yes I can still remember thinking how cool it would be if they did just this
Thanks for the trip back into my childhood and now need to go as the Ault chilhood is calling me to go make a Canoe for the wifes Rig
thanks and looking forward to the next post already
Now thats the way to play with tonka trucks!
I like your rc car and bulldozers
You should try and get out bulldozer and a roller to complete your construction set. That'd be cool!
Hahaha loved the convertible Graupner front loader :)
Work that could be done in a few minutes, done in hours- but with RCs! I'd do the exact same thing, given the chance. I love to see these machines in action. I so want to build a garden using nothing but RC trucks now, hah!
My friend, I have never had so much fun doing yard work!
Awesome! You get a good perspective of how big the excavator bucket is when it is next to the Tonka dump truck. I see a bull dozer in your future.
Gardening with da toys!! Love it! And nice fix to the loader ;)
It's like having fun doing da garden
Those wheels are perfect looking on there! Nice work on the conversion Judd!
Thanks!!
Hey Judd if you need any brand new Tonka's let me know i can get them at a local box store for $25. I'll post a pic on your site later.
love the tonka!
Lights and sound on the tonka would ne great.
Challenge: step 1: plant garden for wife using only RC step 2: attempt to harvest said garden once it's all ready using only RC step 3: enjoy a burger with an RC'd tomato on it.
While watching this, all I could think of was... "Constructicons! Form Devastator!!!" :)
Sick i love the tonka truck
Medic you definitely made rc construction that much cooler with the Tonka dump truck
Oh and almost forgot to thank JRP RC for finding away to modify a very awesome trip back down memory lane. I only wish I still had the Tonka dump truck, I had as a young lad
Wow you are truly a Rc god
Thanks for all you do
Tonka is awesome! Still feel bad about the cab on the loader though.......
Hey Medic,
Thanks for getting me up to date on why the monster tires did not work!! That's why you are DJMedic and I'm not haha. Thanks again Medic, see ya :-)
Hey Medic, looks like it's working very nice for you. I must say I liked the wider tires you had on the Rig the other day. Looks to cute with the ones that are on now!!! Just my opinion, thanks for the awesome videos Medic.
the wider ones were not tall enough to clear proper terrain
I'm surprised you don't have a steam roller yet, Medic. Next project maybe?
awesome vid bud love the Tonka,it look's like she work's great, thumb's up bud!
More then Awesome!
Love it Medic. Keep it up man.
Them are some pretty ballin rims for a dump truck lol
But when you sold them to me you said "that's what every dump truck is rollin' on".. hmmm, well at least you gave me a deal..
looks great!
The rock query tanka looks so out of scale lol great video
you could add suspension to the rear by running two shocks in full droop with the axle riding on bump stops to handle the weight. but you would still have down travel
Looks like a good way to attend to the garden hahaha
Too cool man, great job.
Hey, Medic, do you help Jem with the gardening?
digging holes and stuff with your excavator
planting season is here.. I'm very excited!
*****
I have an idea for your next build: try to find a way to turn an old traxas rc into a tractor to pull a tiller for the garden, or get the guys who built HD Overkill to build you a tractor purpose built for tilling the garden

awesome. I think it look sweet with some led lights, but its still awesome
Happy 420 medic
This video is dedicated to you, Herb Burner!
i gotta box full of G.I.Joe's and a few vehicles I'm about to bring to life........ thanks for the inspiration!
Exclusive RC sparks rock and gravel - start a little rock quarry were you make videos blasting and excavating the materials and then sell it $20 dollers a bag or something like that. Sence your so popular people may want a little RC sparks memorabilia. A little section of RC sparks crawler course or something ! Just a thought. LOL, or not.
Dude! I love them :)
Mum!!! Dad's digging holes in the garden again!
this is cool i wanted to do this with my tonkas
Run the tonga at the next ttc!
Or a tracked skid steer. You could rig something up with 2 predator tracks. Try to make a zero turn radius like a real skid steer
tonka real tough toys for real tough boys lol
best landscaping video I've ever seen.
Awesome video!! You are sure getting the hang of driving the construction equipment!!! Love the Tonka Truck!!!! Always wanted to do that with my old Truck.... :D
Very, very cool Medic. My boys enjoyed this one a lot. Thumbs up from all of us.
Hi jason! Hey, really awesome bud! Isn't it like we imagined when we were young?! It's fun to try and grab my imagination on film. Say hi to Bugs and Buddy for us!
***** oh it truely is. I remember always thinking my trucks would drive one day, now that's becoming a reality. The kids said hi Medic! You made there day. ;-)
CodesEmpire f ķcfoxjjxn . nxnxzmzzjzjjsbvbs
Now you can just sit inside the house and do the garden work! :D
The tonka truck looks realy nice genius setup
Nice video now you have a hole construction crew what's next? A RC farm? that be fun to see. Love your videos as always!
RCSparks Trucking and Excavating - Open for business
are you planning on putting a dual motor setup on the truck and you should pull judgement with the tonka truck while it has a load in the back
ah men and their toys =) pretty awesome video
You should make the back tired and rims duals
like the tires
Worlds fastest tonka
Now all u need is an rc tractor that can cut the grass
Nice!
Time for mudddd!!!
I liked the '90's style black wheels better XD. If I get into construction I want something like that. 8D
Aron, do you wanna play a game?? I got you a challenge to build a rc-track/course (or how it's spelled) using only these machines! XD
Why do you think I have been collecting such a large army of trucks and construction equipment. ;) Just have to find the land to do it on..
***** awesome!!! That's freaking epic man XD
*****
think the tonka truck could fair better on a set of custom duals! what you think aaron?
Hey Medic you could order some 3D printed parts to fix the canopy for the loader it really sucks to have parts brake that are hard to replace
***** one of the best rc adventures i seen in a while, man o man i really want to build one of them tonka trucks now!! lol
It would be cool for you to make the TONKA Truck be a mud truck!!!
Woooow
Hey he made it with a toy truck like I used to play with! Stop fuckin stalking me bro!
Your family must love working the yard with you, You do some really nice video's, very action packed. Great job!!
Hey medic i also live in calgary and you should hit up copperfield lots of new construction behind my grandmas house bro! it would be perfect to use those toys on!!!
ok thats it ,,,im moving to this guys neigbourhood....
let me know when the next house on your street goes up for sale!!!
This was the coolest shit i've ever seen wow!
Hey medic all you need now is a roller
will you eventually do a speed run with the tonka truck please???
I wonder if there is an RC compactor or roller or grader or a dozer because that would've worked well fro smoothing the dirt. Not that I'm pressuring you to get something like that
I bet there is a way to fabricate the frame of that tonka truck to fit suspension to it. Or at least find another one at a thrift store to try it out on
I got a quick question about the tires and wheels on the tonka dump's tires &wheels. What size are both cuz I like how narrow the wheels are, they make the tires stand up a little more
Great video, but where is the RC Sparks sticker for the lift gate? haha
