Do You Know the Only Sign Jesus Christ Gave That He Is the Messiah?

  • Jesus Christ's claim of being the Messiah rested on one sign: spending three days and nights in the grave, paralleling Jonah's experience in the belly of a whale. This challenges the tradition of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
In this Biblical Worldview episode, United Church of God president, Rick Shabi, explores the truth behind Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. He will examine biblical scriptures to uncover the discrepancy between traditional beliefs and the actual timeline presented in the Bible. Discover why a Good Friday to Easter Sunday sequence contradicts Christ's own prophecy and what this means for your faith. Join us as we challenge conventional teachings and encourage a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ's message. Don't miss this opportunity to seek truth directly from the source-God's Word.
Watch to gain insights into biblical views on the future and the role of faith in navigating uncertain times.

Mark, I hope you will stick around and answer all the contrarians who only come here to argue with and lie to people inside and outside of the church. Because it will never end and you have decided to take this task on. I do hope the genuinely interested far outnumber the trouble makers, but a lot of them show up on Living Church of God's CZcams channel and it is not pretty.
And to be prompt to answer someone does not necessarily mean on the CZcams circus. If they are serious they can contact the church through conventional channels like email and get a good, thorough and correct answer. And I am not a Philistine who is too old for current technology. I got my first computer back in 1992, perhaps before you were even born?

Add to Mt 12: 40 (the period of interment) what Mark records in Mk 8;31 (and also Mk 9; 31 & Mk 10: 34) and what John records in Jn 2: 17 to fix the period of death. The seeming time difference between the moment Christ died and the time of his burial can be explained by the fact that he needn't have left the tomb immediately upon resurrection, thus allowing a precise 72 hours for both the time period of his interment and that of his death

Wrong. Jesus was raised early Sunday. The Jewish day BEGINS AT NIGHTFALL. So Sunday morning starts around 6 or 7 pm on what we would call Saturday evening
Also, He had just been resurrected when Mary got there that is why he told her not to touch him as he had not ascended to the Father. Then after he ascended he let people touch him. I believe he was crucified on Wed, but He rose just before dawn on Sunday morning.

While they are preaching Easter they will preach right up to Matthew 27:51 - give an invitation to hurry up and "accept Jesus" and send the kids out to hunt bunny rabbit eggs. Matthew 27:51 - 53 is one complete theme. It cannot be divided. This half-truth resulting from omitting this resurrection has deceived the whole world. Jesus did not rise alone. Many rose with Him. This is obvious when we connect Luke 2:34 and Matthew 27:52-53. Simeon said many would be resurrected and Matthew confirms the resurrection of many in Israel. Does your church have the faith? Jesus asked if He would find it when He comes. If you are not properly teaching Romans 10:9 then you are still in darkness. Jesus rose from out of the Dead. God raised Him from them. Then He raised them as well. To teach anything less is to deny the Redeemer. 2 Peter 2:1.

This makes the most sense as far as I can tell. However you claim that Jesus rose at sunset (start of the first day) and that would make sense. However you CANNOT PROVE that from the bible. And there are times in the bible where 3 days were only parts of 3 days. I would not at all say that because they believe in Thurs or Friday death of Jesus that they are any less Christian than we are. It's recieving Christ as our savior is what saves us.

    • @Tom-w1n
      @Tom-w1n Před měsícem

Bullinger's reference correctly notes that parts of days do not count as full days when "3 nights" is specified. Jesus said the Bible is truth (John 17:17) and those God chooses to offer salvation to now (John 6:44) must be careful to seek it, prove it, and obey it. Actually, UCG teaches that Jesus rose just before sunset ending the Sabbath day, not later into the Sunday.

This is how that ONE SIGN will be fulfilled.
    PROPHECY: The SIGN of JONAS
    Matthew 16:4 KJV
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall
no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left
    them, and departed.
***When the “two witnesses” are killed, lie on display for 3 days, then ascend
to Heaven…. That is the “SIGN of JONAS” being FULFILLED.
It marks the END of the 1 st half of Tribulation.
In the same hour “Sodom” (Las Vegas) will get a HUGE earthquake killing
7000 Men and destroying 1/10 the city. This earthquake starts the 2 nd half of
    Tribulation.
Below is more Scripture to help.
    Matthew 12:40 KJV
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whales belly; so
shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the
    earth.
    Luke 11:29 KJV
And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say,
This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be
given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
    Enoch (PROPHET)
    (Watchman for the Last Generation)

Do not be deceived by this old argument. The expression of three days and three nights would have been understood by the Hebrew hearer. It would be a means to emphasize it was part of three days. There are many commentaries that would support this.

I believe Jesus was crucified on Thursday. The day after he was crucified was an annual Sabbath. If he had been crucified on Wednesday, that would have been on Thursday and the women could have gone to the tomb on Friday.. But they couldn't go until Sunday, that means the annual Sabbath was on Friday and Jesus was thus crucified on Thursday. Also note that in the instructions for the Passover, the sacrificial lamb was to be chosen four days prior. Jesus was hailed as the Messiah (chosen) on Palm Sunday, four days before He sacrificed Himself on Thursday. According to Jewish law, He was placed in the tomb before sundown. Thus, He was in the tomb on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and on Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night.

The problem with your time frame -- again -- no three 12 hour days and three 12 hour nights. If HE died on Thursday at 3 PM then the can be no 3 days and 3 nights., no 72 hours, Plus the women could not buy or prepare the spices on Thursday as that day was a High Holy Day, they had to wait until Friday to buy and then prepare the spices.

    • @user-ee4ft7ff1u
      @user-ee4ft7ff1u Před 5 měsíci

@@user-cv7cw1jm2p Jesus would have been in the tomb while it was still Thursday, so that would have had to have been the first day. I cannot be sure about this,. The women would have had time to buy and prepare the spices on Thursday after Jesus died and before sunset. The Wednesday time may be correct. The issue I see w with that is that we know the women were so eager to get to the tomb that they started as soon as they could on Sunday. So why would they have not gone on Thursday as soon as the spices were prepared?
Again, I am struck by the correspondence of the four days between the selection and offering of the Passover Sacrifice and the Sunday - Thursday period, No reason is given for the four-day wait. God has a reason for everything and Passover foreshadows Jesus' death, so it fits and would be another link between the two ,but maybe not.
This is interesting, but it is not an important matter of faith and I am not dogmatic. What is important is that prophecy was fulfilled and Jesus died and rose again for our salvation.
