Each time I listen to something recorded by Mr. Scott on this organ, I am astonished at the versatility of this instrument. It is a large organ to be sure, but the range not only of volume but of sounds that he gets out of its ca. 75 stops makes me think it should be an organ of over 100 stops. Kudos both to Mr. Scott on masterful registration and playing, and to the Marcussen & Son firm for an astonishing instrument! May you bring us many more delights from its console! I can only hope that the people of Manchester and England realize what a treasure they have here.

I can't stop playing this piece and have already commented on here. Just magnificent in every respect and my favourite piece to date by him. How he turns that organ into an orchestra is incredible. He really knows how to get the best from it. I prefer this arrangement above the orchestral piece if I'm honest. And as to the pedal workboat, that is something else. Bravo maestro par excellence.

What a tour de force! Glissandi on the foot pedals-I’m sure it’s been done before, but I’ve never seen it done. Playing multiple voices with four extremities, multiple manuals, stops, technical performance, and musicality-I’m a physician and a pianist, and it’s all rather mindblowing that one human being can do all that for such a sustained period when you think about,

It has been done before by other notable public performers. But Jonathan is one of the rare and wonderful performers who are in that exclusive club - and well deserved membership it is. An amazing performer, far exceeding most of the other organists of this day. Take a look at Pierre-Francois, Dub Attendi for St. Sulpice. A student of Roth.

This was the first contest piece I played at 14 in a local Brass Band, (NWABBA) we listened as the conductor Bob Kerwick, read the story of the ships on the Persian sea, calm waters and then rippling waves and finally being hurled against the rocks, through your playing I could hear the different sections, the tutti cornets, horns, euphonium & baritons, trombones and basses, and finally the Soprano singing out on high !! Magnificent - and big Thanks to Tom for recording this for posterity !!

There is only one thing that would make this even more impressive - tremulant on the last section of the sustained note. All renditions of this piece in the orchestral setting use vibrato on the solo violin. That note just floats on top of the other soft chords. Without vibrato it sort of falls back into obscurity. But this is just one more piece and yet another transcription by Jonathan that demonstrate the power, dynamics and versatility of a pipe organ. Well done, Jonathan and thank you for your amazing performance.

Jonathan's arrangements are so masterly well conceived that every piece transposed to the organ sounds as if they had been expresively composed for the instrument.

He did well considering the stark tonal architecture of the organ. It is well suited to the baroque style but not much else. There re few stops on this organ suited for solo work, no reeds on Manual I and only one Celeste. But it is full of Mixtures and even multiple ranks of Octaves. This collection of stops is comparable to car that can only be driven in 1st gear.

Damn that is beautiful. So nicely done. It is a careful and accurate rendition of this orchestral piece. From whence you came I know not. but it would seem like the spirit of Edwin Lamare is guiding your musical endeavors. No one, including the Virgin Fox, since his retirement has performed as many incredibly accurate and moving transcriptions of orchestral music for the organ. It was organists such as Lamare - and yourself - who provided entertainment for the masses, played on the great organs in the town halls of England until "The Modern era" brought distractions to make such performances no linger popular. Thank you for restoring interest in this material. You and your brother stand with Virgil Fox, E. Power Biggs and Lamare in bringing classic music to the masses of appreciative people once again. They are usually locked up tight as a drum. How do you foot the bill for traveling to all these places? I much prefer your videos when playing before a live audience and showing the happy faces and applause after you play. Its more exciting when there is a live audience. One of these days if you get to USA, play the John Wannamaker organ in Philadelphia, or the Atlantic city organ,in New Jersey, or the organ at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, St Patrick's Cathedral in NYC, but you ill have to get Cardinal Dolan to give you the key to the elevator to get up to the organ.

It looks like he is sliding something that is placed on the key to just underneath where the key goes under the organ casing, which essentially prevents the key from lifting up.
