How to Make a Prairie Braid Quilt Border | Jelly Roll Border | Easy Quilt Border for Panel Quilts!

- Quilt borders don't have to be complicated to look great! Try out this fun and seriously easy Prairie Braid Border - also called a Friendship Braid or French Braid - using 2.5" strips of fabric (jelly rolls, also called rolie polies work great!).
*PANEL QUILT FRIENDLY: This is a fun, no-math way to frame out your fabric panel, creating a FABulous panel quilt! The braid looks complicated, but is beginner-friendly.

I was looking for a border to put around a panel and came across your channel I really like the braided boarder. Thank you for this idea. Not quite sure how many different fabric you need but I think you used 6 or 7, 😀
I used all of the fabrics that came in the jelly roll. Every jelly roll might be a little different in how many different designs are included, and that is totally fine, because the technique will remain the same.
How many rolly polly bundles did you use for the 6" border? My daughter is going to make this for the county fair I think.
Good question - if I remember correctly, I only used one rolie polie bundle, but that would vary depending on the size of your quilt.
@@bayhillstudio we ended up making two quilts using this tutorial for 4-H and the county fair! We used one plus part of another roll to get it done. We are making three more for friends and family now!
