Saul had mental illness from day one. He was timid yet a wicked person. He should have used his evil side for good saving his people from the real enemy. Saul left the kingdom unprotected, in his pursuit of killing David, the boy who saved the Kingdom of Israel from the Philistines. Saul hatred grew just because David was simple a valiant boy, who was courageous, brave, strong and anointed to be King of Israel by destroying Goliath the enemy. David was anointed by Samuel and David was sent by God to replace the coward and crazy Saul. What a treat !!!
I don't believe Saul was a wicked person just a very Insecure human being it was nothing in those days to kill anyone you felt was a threat to your Throne. It was very important that your bloodline continue with King Makers especially your Son that's why it was so important for a Man to have a male child to carry on his inheritance.
