    Nice trick! Not sure how this is helpful though. Do you have any advise on how to handle an opponent who is being an insulting jerk on the court? My instinct is to quit the match and tell him I’m not playing him. But if I do this, he gets the win, and there is nothing to convince him to change his behavior. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Thanks for watching! As for the opponent, it all comes down to understanding that he’s doing it intentionally to annoy you. Since you don’t want to forfeit, play the match doing everything you can do ignore the opponent. After the match, you have to tell the player that their behavior isn’t appropriate. If in a tournament, let the officials know so they can be on the lookout for the next time. If a casual match, stop playing with them all together.

      @@2MinuteTennis Great advice. Thank you. Sorry to hijack the thread. As for me, it's really difficult for me to play well when someone has gotten under my skin. Something to work on.

      Add about 10 lbs of lead to your racket, then allow it to slip once or twice. Just kidding--kinda'. I agree with Ryan's reply...

    with all due respect, this guy may know how to analyze any pro player or college player's game but if you follow his instructions word for the word's its gonna hurt your game because it messes with your head, you need to take instructions very vaguely in order to get the most out of it

    What is the practical benefit of being able to do this?

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  Před rokem +1

      Any advanced racket skill gives you the ability to control the racket and ball better. If you saw someone do this you’d assume they were good at tennis. That’s bc in order to do this you must have great racket control. Learning to do this will improve your touch and feel of the ball, especially at net.

    After a million years of playing tennis , try as I might, I STILL can’t pick up the ball by hitting the racket on top of the ball and getting it to bounce up. I have to resort to picking the ball up against the side my foot using the racket or at worst picking the ball up with my hand. No cool factor.

      smack the ball with the sweetspot, and at contact with the ball the racquet should be parallel with the ground.

      I find it easier to smack ball a few inches above sweetspot, toward the top of the frame. Also choking up helps. Key is timing the second smack down, give the ball some time to get up

      @@jayrussell26 I think that’s my problem. I mess up the timing the second smack down and the ball and my racket just die on the court. This is so funny to analyze…
