I think your reaction regarding the opening ceremony is a bit over the top. The last supper act was a parody and was suppose to symbolise inclusion. I think that the act missed its' target and didn't resonate with me. But your reaction that it was demonic is too an exaggeration.
Personally I wish the organisers would concentrated more on French traditions.
I did like the idea that it was held outside the stadium. A refreshing and innovating idea.
I particular enjoyed the light show using the Eifel Tower as its' stage.
Wasn't a fan of the EU flag being lit...Too political!
Of course I really loved Celine Dion's performance.
But the exaggerated reactions worldwide about the last supper parody is too much.
I hope the media stops with trying to create controversy out of missers just to generate clicks for revenue.

I'm not even a Christian, but even i felt offended on behalf of the Christians. I never minded the Pride marches, as long as they weren't indecent and left kids out of it, but it has no place in the Olympics. It was not family-friendly, had nothing to do with sports, and did not represent the majority of the athletes, the country, or the spectators.

First of all the performance had absolutely nothing to do with the last supper and everything to do with the Greek mythology connection to the Olympics. The Olympic opening ceremony was based on The Feast of the Gods, a 17th century painting by Dutch artist Jan Harmensz van Biljert that hangs in the Magnin Museum, in Dijon, eastern France. The painting depicts an assembly of Greek gods on Mount Olympus for a banquet to celebrate the marriage of Thetis and Peleus. The figure seated at the table in the center has a halo of light behind his head. Considering the last supper only has 13 people, Jesus and his 12 deciples and the paining has around 15-16 which is about the same amount in the Olympic ceremony feast then what are the chances that it actually had to do with a painting of an Assembly of Greek Gods at mount Olympus and not The Last Supper?
