Would definitely like to see more franchise mode testing videos in the future!

Great video and not something I have come across before in content. I wonder, though, if the coaches (their style, area of expertise, etc.) have any influence on the growth of the player? I noticed that Player Development during his NHL season was not a good line fit for the fourth line, so, during simulation, it would influence the player production, which in turn would affect the growth, no? I believe someone in the comments mentioned that they had a player who was on a line with a +5 chemistry. If the player were also a good line fit, which I assume they were due to getting the +5 bonus, I should think that production would be generally better than a player with an even bonus, or worse yet, for one with a negative. So how much would that also influence the player's overall production and add or subtract toward the player's growth? Anyway, again, great stuff.

Thanks so much! Ya thats the thing we can do our best testing theses players but there still is so many variables that we can't totally control unfortunately!

I’ve logged ungodly amounts of time on franchise, and i find if you have an offensive prospect ( either awareness or pass/shoot ), there’s evidence of a production per minute factor in development. I found the best results in terms of developmental growth ( potential raising, which leads into overall growth ) is somehow most prevalent when either a player plays high minutes and produces high, or restricted minutes but high enough points for their 9-12 minutes a night where their potential increases. I’ll try to quantify this information and test it tonight but i find bottom 6 ahl is the sweet spot to turn top 6F into an elite player

the one bit of proof i do have confirmed was i played a top6F on every single F line, he put up 240 pts a season for 3 years and that did not get him to develop past a low elite, where i’ve had Artur Kalieyev, who is a top6F in my current roster become a medium elite bc i was an expansion team and threw him in the top 6 with +5 chem

so similar to what you showed, the player had 14 points in 9 minutes, so around 30 points if he played 20 minutes did get him the highest rating, so i’m very curious about the idea of points/minute multiplied by the region difficulty and role is what drives development

Totally agreed it definitely growth 100% is tied really to time on ice and the overall production. In the past I've experienced having med top 9 prospects at like 75 overall on a second line and with the TOI and scoring they end up skyrocketing.
Its very interesting with this game, alot of different situations that can completely change how players grow!

Based on your testing and rosters, what attributes dont grow much in franchise? In years past, i always thought it was skating, but this year as you mentioned, it looks like shot attributes stay stagnant. Anything else?

Personally I've also noticed endurance and poise have a tougher time growing

I see prospects with low Endurance and shows no sign of growth in that area

Good video, I do wonder what the coaching staff impact was, and how different this would look with different potentials and positions. It’s hard to determine what to do as well because i feel like it depends on the make up of your team. For a contender i’d be holding on on signing guys unless I have a spot for them on the roster

Ya I do agree it's tough 100% to get a conclusive answer due to the coaching staff, I wanna say the NHL coach was an A rated teacher could be wrong on that though.
Ya if your contending theres definitely no need to force players in prematurely

What's the difference between a prospect playing in the USA, CHL or Europe
And does what line the player plays on in the nhl and ahl affect it?

I like that idea... I'm assuming it would probably be the same but you never know until you test it

Curious about signing them and letting them play out their junior career, not even sure if you can force that or not though

Could be an interesting test, I think it would still be limited to the 2 seasons but who knows results may be different!

Try it with goalies and Dman something basic like medium starter and Top 4 potential 🤷‍♂️

I could definitely look to do that! I have a few testing videos planned!
