So at the beginning when one of the girls said they learnt it in 3 days but the edit of all the lifts says one month ago...? Did they just have a lot of time between rehearsals or what?
I _think_ (I could be wrong) these are all prerecorded, they're just releasing them like one would tv episodes, It's so frustrating, but it's keeping us on our toes lol.

I can't believe Joffrey students compete. You wouldn't see ABT or SAB students doing these competitions - isn't this the type of thing small, local schools do with their students?
roxiehart1 I feel like they said something on the first episode about this being a competition between all of the major, prestigious schools
It could be that Joffrey wants to sort of advertise in competitions, like show off their dancers and what they can do in the hopes that people apply to the school? Even so, if they win any competitions, it's just another accolade to add to the school's name.

When I was a kid I dreamed about being a ballerina. It was such a magical thing to me. So watching this now that I’m older makes me realize that I’m actually lucky LOL it’s a lot harder than it looked back then. But I believe had I been given the chance early enough I would have gone for it
In my life of watching ballet, I never once thought anything about the lifts except that the boys must be very strong. Now I find that the lifts MUST be done a certain way, and in a certain time frame, and whether or not the boy is feeling strong or not, it must be done just so. Hard work. Very hard work.

It seems these people are picked based on the boys being tall and strong to lift, and the girls being small and thin to get lifted only !, they are not being picked on dance ability

The tacit paring of black principals with white ballerinas in America has become so ubiquitous as to mock any pretense of impartiality.
These girls look taller than 5 ft 5 so they must be difficult to lift their legs look strong but muscle weighs more. I guess I'm more use to the classical ballerina.and girls with bigger chests don't look as elegant.
