Step By Step (make sure Sims is closed as you do this)
1. Open regedit.exe using run
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Maxis\The Sims 4
3. Once here open Locale
4. Enter your chosen language code listed below
5. Click "ok" exit regedit and DONE
Language Codes:
Brazilian Portuguese: pt_BR
Traditional Chinese: zh_TW
Czech: cs_CZ
Danish: da_DK
Dutch: nl_NL
English: en_US
Finnish: fi_FI
French: fr_FR
German: de_DE
Italian: it_IT
Japanese: ja_JP
Korean: ko_KR
Norwegian: no_NO
Polish: pl_PL
Russian: ru_RU
Spanish: es_ES
Swedish: sv_SE

I tried to change to korean but my game wouldn't open and then I changed it back to my standard language and it still won't open

Or you can just open the sims 4 folder> language> (click desired language)> when User Account Control appear click "yes" > when Registry Editor appear click "yes"> done :)

didn't work for me either. I did find the problem though. If u use Origins u have to change the language there with rightclicking on sims 4 and then game properties, then go to advanced setting and change language

the fact a tutorial such as this is needed is insane to me, the fuckers at ea didnt even take the time to put the option of being able to change your language in the game settings. good tutorial tho it worked for me!

It works! For whoever who can't find it out, it's because you need to also do it in the other folders. I had two folders Maxis and one Origin, and it only worked then.

the problem of this solution is that it doesn't work on the 64bit client, instead it works only on 32bit
I want to change my 64bit client to portuguese because my wife doesn't get english so well, and I don't want to run 32bit because it's too slow. my game version is a torrent which came with a russian installer, yet I chose english and the game still was on russian. Then I changed the value for pt_BR and it's english now, like... wtf?

really works thx alot bud.. to those were it dosent work make sure you have your launguage package installed in windows eg. i use en_us windows but wanted to play in danish (da_DK) goto settings then time and language and install needed package
