  • Photos of appetizers, main courses, desserts, lunch, and breakfast food served in the Waves, Panorama, L'Olivo d'oro, and L'Olive doree main dining rooms for our August 2021 cruise on the MSC Meraviglia.
    All four restaurants are complimentary and serve the same menu on the MSC Meraviglia. We dined at the Waves dining room on Deck 5 aft, at the back of the ship, during our cruise.

    We heard a lot of negative comments about the food before going on MSC MERAVIGLIA. We enjoyed most food we had. Thanks for sharing this!

    I think the food in your buffet video looked more appealing than the food shown in the MDR. I guess I will have to sail on the Meraviglia and try them both out for myself. Awesome video as always. Thanks for sharing and posting!

    I was on the MSC a few weeks ago. The food was meh. Especially in the dining rooms, at least in the buffet you had more of a choice if the first bite was crap. I you are in the Bella class (they have different class of rooms) you are basically in the low life class. The ship however was beautiful and I liked the layout! better than most ships we have been on

      @@sharonnichols4678 you get what you pay for in life. Cruise ships (ALL OF THEM) used to have the best food ever. Now they simply dont care cause they have high turnover. The MSC was inexpensive but you suffer for it with both food and service.

    I watched all the video and after that, I was a little bit puzzled and confused. I had 6 cruises with MSC and the last one was in 2019, before Covid. I haven't never traveled with the same ship, even for a new tour. I have always experienced cruises with a different ship of them. I tried to focus my mind on the different tipes of plates you showed while dining at assigned restaurant and I must be honest I only remembered few of them. The most part instead were completely unknown from their menu to me as if I saw them for the first time. I have to precisely tell that I have alway travelled along Europe, and never taken a cruises to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. It seems to me as if they would change their menu depending on the fact they try to satisfy the tastes of the American guests when sailing along American continent or European ones when traveling along Europe. Maybe menus at the buffet may be similar. I agree with you when you tell that menus at lunch buffet are quite the same everyday and at dinner is extremely "poor". The reason why could be that Msc is an Italian cruise company which tries to express the spirit of Mediterranean people. May be accepted that people prefers a fast lunch at midday. But dinner is a must. Your experience has to be a relaxed one sitting confortable at the restaurant at your round shaped table, which most of the time you share with other cruisers coming from the same country as yours, or if you ask or have the opportunity with guests from other countries. I consider the last option the best one you can experience. And while you are having dinner you have the possibility to know better and talk to other passengers from other countries, improve your foreign languages knowledge... Having dinner at buffet is not considered the best option for the majority of the European cruisers. If I'm not wrong then menu at restaurant changes every day both at lunch and dinner time. Not considerering the fact they offer special menus on special night's events. I adored the gala, th Mediterranean and the white night's events.

    quick question... was all the food shown here included in the regular cruise fair? I saw another video that showed the actual menu and it looked like there was extra charge for the steak ($10) and some other up charges... that would be a big dissapointment

    • @TheJellyBeans
      @TheJellyBeans  Před rokem

      Yes, all of the food we ordered and included in the video was complimentary/included. You can see all of the menus from our cruise on our website: www.thejellybeans.net/cruise-ship-msc-meraviglia.php For each night, there were a handful of complimentary/included entrees that rotated, four complimentary/included "Classic Favorites" entrees that did not rotate (including a NY Strip), and three upcharge "Featured Selection" entrees that did not rotate (including an 18 oz Ribeye). Hope this helps!

    Nice pics..Would've liked a thumbs up or thumbs down on individual dishes.. the one thing I keep hearing is that main dining room food is very bland; Maybe pack the salt and pepper shaker? lol

      Overall, we enjoyed the food, but it's definitely more on the European side of taste than the American side. For example, the Chicken Parmesan at 3:35 had far less tomato sauce than most Americans would expect. Having visited Europe many times and knowing what to expect, we enjoyed it. However, the table next to us ordered extra "gravy boats" of sauce. An example of a dish that just completely missed was the Boston Cream Pie at 6:02. The cake was more spongy than expected and the chocolate on top was more like what you dip strawberries in. To their credit, the head waiter noticed we didn't eat much of it and asked about it. We explained the differences from a traditional Boston Cream Pie and he seemed genuinely interested in making changes to more closely align. We also pointed out that if it was called something different, the expectation of a more traditional Boston Cream Pie wouldn't have gotten in the way as much. Hope this helps!

    We just got off the ship Thursday. Three star at the very best. Nothing was fresh, everything was cold, not even lukewarm, poorly seasoned, overly salted. The best food was the breakfast and lunch buffet. The Kaito Teppanyaki restaurant was the worst experience ever in a restaurant. They served cold tempura, old fishy sushi, terrible smoked salmon, awful fried rice and terrible ginger something ice cream. However, it was the atmosphere which was extremely loud to the point you couldn't enjoy your meal that upset us the most. The chef's were banging the salt and pepper shakers against the grill constantly trying to get everybody to sing and clap their hands. It was so loud it totally ruined our meal which was $300 with tip. Totally classless experience. Pack a lunch.
