We all know Novak would have beaten Rafa, we saw it at AO2019! Medvedev could have also done it, but just played like a baby, in the third set, and let that rotten stinking crowd get to him, pathetic behaviour from the audience, I wish he'd won it in 3, and given them the big F you.

The post match interview with Daniil was heartbreaking. I rooted for Rafa and am very happy for him..but that crowd really broke the human inside Daniil. Disgraceful. I hope after the heat of the moment subsides, he can reflect on Nole and Rafa himself who have lost so many times, with crowds against them.. that champions won’t be denied. I will be rooting for Daniil in Paris.

At this point the GOAT discussion is irrelevant. As Rafa said, he doesn't care where he finishes. Personally I thought this was a important milestone not because it was his 21st slam, but because he won the career slam twice and joined a very elite circle that Djokovic achieved last year. If he stays injury free and enjoys the game, the results will come

I almost dropped my whole body from the chair after his winning return!! Honestly I almost surrendered especially the predictor saying only 30% for Nadal which is probably correct at the time given the way he played in the previous games. But I had this feeling of comfort that he is a great athlete and knows what to do during tough games. Congratulations Rafa my greatest tennis player in all these times!!! You are just amazing, incredibly undescribable moment of success!

The win prediction was 67% Medvedev 33% Rafa at the beginning, dropped to 4% for Rafa after set2, went back up to 33% after set 4. Safe to say most were proven wrong. There was always the x factor about never counting Rafa out but in the 5th set? After 5 hours? Impossible.

What an absolute Chad. One can't help but feel humbled the way you see champs like him give it is all like that, to me it is truly super human. Respect to Medvedev, a future #1 for sure. Fans give the new generation a hard time for not beating the big 3 into retirement but they try their best. Federer elevated the game, Nadal rose to the level and Novak took it all and became near unbeatable. We'll probably never see something like the big 3 again. Long live our sport!
