Didn't teach me anything in School either. Now I'm finishing a Uni course. Self taught everything and learned a lot from Akala's lyrics and recommendations/interviews.
Half of it's all bs I've been flattered with people calling me "educated" just cause I've read a few things now. And folk are intimidated cause they spend so much time in school putting you down and drilling into your head you are worthless.
Can guarantee more than half of them teaching don't know anything either. They don't think for themselves. Empty vessels got told they where worthless, discarded being able to learn on there own. Copied everything from the textbook. Rewrote it in a exam got a qualification without actually growing or learning anything.
You won't find this in your course work so you're likely already more educated than most.

Late as hell to this comment section, but there’s so many layers of brilliancy to this song. I especially love the thought put into the order of thieves as to represent the history behind these ideologies. Sure, dictatorship is disgusting, but who was responsible for early forms of dictatorship? Monarchs. But who has historically had control of the monarchs? The Church. But what has controlled all three of these groups? The interests of the economy.
