Another great haul! Most of that fresh veg, salad and herbs can be washed, picked over, chopped up and made into soups which freeze very well in space-saving Ziploc bags. Most of the fruits can be pureed and frozen the same way. They're not my favourite fruit, but even bruised bananas make great fritters or banana bread.
Plantains can be peeled sliced and battered... fry them, they are like chicken bites... learned this from a lady from India... they will take on any flavor by the seasoning u use...
Those funny green bananas are great pan fried, as above....
Those were cabbage leaves that they workers peel off the outside of the heads.
To save freezer space while still preserving some if those strawberries - puree the strawberries in a blender or food processor, measure 1 cup fulls into resealable sandwich bags, lay flat and freeze. Use as a sauce on desserts, drop into the center of muffins before baking, use as a sauce on pancakes. Add sugar as needed once thawed. Of course you can use the pureed strawberries in yogurt, in smoothies, and on cottage cheese.

BTW? You don’t eat Plantains like a regular banana. They will be bitter if you do that. They are usually cooked in dishes. Like frying them up. Make sure you look up some recipes for them.
Plantins, bananas and veggies are our islands foods. The cost to ship and then throw in the garbage is such a waste whe people are hungry even in the USA.

For a while, you will find that the extras and more expensive items won't be selling as quickly. This means perishables, out of date items, and items being removed from the shelf will end up in dumpsters. With time, stores won't be ordering as much and/ or they will stop carrying the more expensive items and the amount of variety. Do keep this in mind as you collect dumpster items. Also, now is the time to do some food preservation of the things you are finding.

Slice and fry the plantains. So delicious with bacon and 🍳
Plantains are more for cooking than eating fresh, not as sweet as a reg. banana until cooked. Try sauteing them with a little sugar or cinnamon or other ways. They also take longer to ripen and their skins are much tougher. Enjoy watching your videos, keep them coming!

Dude good to see you back at it. You have been getting some great hauls lately. It's a real shame that they through this out when inflation is on the rise and it is harder to keep the shelves stocked. The Aldis here throws alot things out a week before the expiration date. That box of lettuce leaves is actually the outer leaves from heads of cabbage. Those usually have imperfections so 5hey pull them off before putting new cabbages out for sale. All of the fresh herbs can be dried in a food dehydrator. But, you might try timing the ends amd hanging to dry too.

Do you really take all that food and put it in your little car or do you leave it behind? Your chicken will be healthy, there's a lot of good food there, I wish we had small dumpsters all the stores here have huge dumpsters there's no way to get in and out of them, we don't have Aldi's here, so sad but lucky you from Tacoma, Washington
