My name is Brown Hawk, I am of cherokee and Coahuiltecan native descent,they may have tried to silence us and eradicate our cultures and people,but our stories and our songs live on.
I just moved to a home near a cemetery for native people. Suddenly I get all this music on my feed and a lot of premonitions of an uprising. A lot of anger but it’s calculated calm anger.
As an old white man from Toronto I have to say I am a little surprised that electric tribal music would pull at my soul and demand my attention. But this does.
I was in the Gulf War . There was a news report that a Native American Goup held a special prayer of blessing and protection for all American fighting in the Middle East . I was deeply touched by their compassion, and I felt very blessed . Thank you..

With this out of the way I think you fail to illicit a point when you paint all Cherokee people with the same brush stroke. I've been around all THREE bands of the Cherokee. Yes 3 .. the CNO, The Eastern Band and the Keetoowah band in Oklahoma who got screwed by being placed under the CNO's treaty. After seeing Qualla Boundary.. the Keetoowah and going to Stomps in Oklahoma. I've seen valid Cherokee people who live by whatever culture that is to them in this modern age. I would venture to say that these validly Cherokee people are also being victimized by claimers, because your biased unilateral judgement of the mention of Cherokee as a group lumps them into the same group as the Bees and the Indian princess grandmother fiction believers...Imagine how valid Cherokee people who live their culture feel at what is essentially identity theft? I understand your frustrations about aspects of .. esp res life but what is your judgements on others doing to helping that situation? The reason why the US Government condemned the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese genocide is because the US government has blood on their own hands, the biggest genocide ever known to humanity by killing billions of indigenous people of North America. It's said often people hate others because others have traits that one has in their own personality that they see in themselves. US Government has seen it in their history and choose to condemn it in others. The part that is not taught in schools is the genocide of the indigenous people AND the country's own citizens that STILL go on today. Same goes on in Canada and Trudeaus treatment of the first nations members.
