I never made a ton of friends in college. Most of my friends I made as an adult are people I work with or have worked with... or people I talk to on the internet :) There's almost never an overlap between people who are into the same stuff I am and people I will meet in my daily life, so that's what the internet is great for! Also happy birthday!
It’s a learning curve is what I’m thinking. In high school you’re in an environment that fosters bonding as you’re locked in the same building for a third of each day… with college I RUN off of campus as soon as I can every day 🤣 so I’m not helping the situation for sure
I also never made a ton of friends in college. I made essentially one friend, and we have some overlapping interests but not in Barbie, Bratz, Winx, MH, or any other types of media I grew up with, which is such a shame. Online, it's much easier to find people who share those kinds of interests and seek out those kinds of communities. When I was 10 I made some internet friends in the Winx fandom and I'm still friends with them to this day. Online communities are so amazing, I just wish it was easier to find "your people" in real life too.

If you don't end up making any connections, at least you have other ways to make friends down the line to look forward to.

The internet is great for -- as you mentioned -- connecting with others who share your interests because we're more confident to express them online knowing we can find others to talk to.

Sorry for being weird and spammy, but I finally had time to sit and really watch and listen all the way through and wanted to add that I totally hear you on the PEOPLE involved in events. I don't really broadcast it, but I'm a Titanic enthusiast and have been since I was about ten and that's one of my favourite things as well, getting to know the people involved in everything, from the initial blueprints to the building of the ship, to the passengers and crew involved in the disaster and even those that located the wreck in 1985. I've watched some amazing documentaries. One about the builders of the ship, another about a group of Irish immigrants traveling in third class and another about the men in the boiler rooms and what they did when the ship was sinking and they are some of my favourites I've seen so far. The human element just brings it all back and makes it real again for me and I love the immersion that comes with it. And it's SO CUTE you wanna take Brett and your brother on a cruise like that! One of my life goals is go on a transatlantic crossing (Southampton to New York) with my BFF on Cunard's Queen Mary 2. She hasn't done a whole lot of traveling and never like that, so I really want to share that with her. Also, I forgot to say when I got it (It came super late, actually. I think it got lost in the post) I LOVED my Leggy picture! And thank you SO MUCH for the thoughtful note on the back as well!

Hey, I just started watching your videos and love them all. I have no friends either and celebrate my birthday with my family and my fiancés family. That’s all, sometimes I wish I have someone by my side who also likes what I likes and we can talk to each other. It’s so hard to be lonely especially when you had friends for a long time but lost them a to a stupid mistake. 😢 hope you can find your group of friends someday and I hope I can also find my group of friends here in Sweden.
