Dragonflies harvest the tiny black flies that are a menace in Maine and Quebec. I used to celebrate the arrival of large dragonflies in July when I lived in Aroostook County. These helpful dragons would devour the awful black flies that swarmed me from May until the end of July each year.

Now is the time to EDUCATE your locals so they understand that dragonflies are harmless. Omg, I catch them on my finger when they get trapped inside a place. They are more adept at flight than hummingbirds.
the weird thing is i live in texas and a couplr of weeks ago put up some videos about dragonflies and the town i used to live in in 2011 was westerly and went to the westerly beach a lot
