I'm very sure there is a better way to apply these shadows, but that's the thing....I'm not gonna buy new brushes for a $125 palette. For that price I should be able to look at it, and it should jump onto my eyelids.
I understand what u are saying at that price lol trust me but I also think that not just Pats formula but all palettes certain brushes work wit certain formulas so I don’t think it’s just for PATS..!!! I would love to see her do a video on what brushes works best regardless of just Pats palette if that makes since

I see why others are disappointed with this palette, but as someone who finds most of other full-sized palettes intimidating (except bronze seduction), this palette seems like a much more approachable fall palette. I'm planning on getting the palette when it drops in Sephora because I love the wicked envy shade, along with the periwinkle and astral solstice. I feel like they are "toned-down" special shades that people who are afraid of too much color can use.
I don't know why she is rising the prices , she's starting to make high-end brands look affordable

If her products are made in Italy, how do the tariffs apply?
The tariffs aren't just for Chinese goods but I'm curious as to which ones would apply in this case. She might just be raising her prices if we don't see other imported brands raising prices as well. I'm sure if you're really keen you could go to the Department of Commerce website and see which ones may apply. You might even be able to contact your legislative reps and they can look into it as well with better resources.
Bumblebee GREED, she got a taste of how she's actually got filthy rich, we are the reason she's filthy rich, and that's the way she treats her own customers...by raising the prices? Boycott, I really can't support someone like that. Besides ND is way better quality and she's constantly thankful and gives back!

I was so certain I was going to get this palette, but then I saw that Natasha denona was releasing the Metropolis palette! You get 28 shades for virtually the same price. I think I'm going to save my money for that beauty instead.

Just ordered it ! I’m obsessed ! I’m dying to get it & I already have looks in mind ... is this the most WOW of her motherships ? Maybe not BUT the quality is there as you said & honestly I think this is the most versatile & wearable mothership palettes from the others .. people have not only complained on the price but the wearability .. oh their not daily wearable friendly ... now that she has released a more wearable mothership it’s boring or a dud ... 🤷🏻♀️ to each their own & it all boils down to preference but mother pat isn’t just another luxury brand ... her products are an experience !! Her shadows are top notch quality ... I’m a fan so I’m all about it ! Xoxo this will be my 4th mothership & I own several of her six pan palettes as well ... the quality & experience of using her shadows is amazing & unique IMHO ❤️😘😅

I am glad you do comparisons. I don't understand why this isn't common practice. You guys have these massive collections, so I feel that is the point and benefit of it. I feel that every time a new palette comes out, influencers should automatically compare it to similar colors. That would save people like me money, if the colors are close enough. I also appreciated the additional run at the end with swatches. Great video!
Yess please do a video explaining how to use more pigmented shadows! Also I want the norvina vol 1 but I’ve seen some videos of people not really able to blend them, so that would be amazing to see how you work with those as well. I watch your videos every morning while I drink my coffee! I love you and your videos! I’m so glad I found you!!

Kinkysweat has a great video of her looks with Norvina 1 which really tempted me (if not for the fact that I *could* probably find dupes for most of the colours in my stash sigh). I thought her looks with the Norvina 1 were the best of her looks in recent times. Sooooo gorgeous.
I panicked when I saw the header, as I have this palatte on the way. Being 53, I think I am going to be just fine with those shades. I only have her mothership v, and the bronze six pan, so I'm thinking I'll be pleased with this one. Thanks so much for this! ❤️
I agree. I am 47 and I ordered this palette because I thought it was elegant. Also, this is my first Pat McGrath palette, so I don't think I will be disappointed.
There seems to be A LOT of similarities between all her other palettes, I found that surprising. Thanks,as always, for giving us all the PM deets. I always wait for your videos on her products
I ordered this palette on launch day and it will be my first large Mothership palette. I have Platinum Bronze and Bronze Ambition. This release appealed to me because it is a neutral palette with a grungy twist and I am a neutral fanatic. I’m hoping that because I don’t have tons of PM palettes I won’t have as much overlap and repetition as someone who is already a collector.

Wow. So many dupes or close enough shades from her other palettes. Even if they’re not spot on dupes, they aren’t going to look very different on the eye. What a bummer. I’m so glad you did all the comparisons!
I ordered the palette and am super excited to receive it because out of all of the Mothership palettes this one feels the most approachable for every day use. I have Mothership V, Platinum Bronze and Bronze Ambition. I like MS V but for me it’s a bit too sparkly for every day use. Can’t wait to use this one!
Honestly, its my 3rd favorite PMG palette. I think that its incredibly underrated. I think they online pictures don't show it the justice it deserves and not very true to life. I think it's REALLY nice for actually wearable looks. I really like it.
I could watch you blend powders for hours. Strangely calming. You truly work as a perfect face for this and I guess the tight platinum hairstyle gives full play to the makeup. So good, Mel! You’re such a pro.

YES!! Please do a video on the mattes...I own all her 6 pans & the M.ship V & I do find they take alot of work....almost like I need to gently tap where I want the shadow, & better not be in a rush cause it's gona be a workout & take extra time(for me at least) for blending..Thanks for the review!
I'd love to see a video discussing just generally your favorite brushes for various brand formulas. My skin has become very sensitive so I'm beginning to switch to higher quality softer natural hair brushes and a video like that would definitely help me pick what to buy!!!

My grandma bought it because it is her most favorite color story Pat has come out with. It'll be her first Pat product so luckily no worries of dupes. I do wish that it had a cool VR shade in it instead of the antique gold though.

I love this palette...it is definitely more accessible for non-artists and the color scheme is fabulous. My favorite is still Subliminal but I love this palette! Creating work looks with it is so perfect!
my most fav palette this year is the ABH JA one. That colour story knocked my socks off. Just like PM’s Subversive did, I got my hands on both. ( disclaimer I don’t like warm palettes so that takes out Viseart and ND releases from the running) Also I don’t like traditional ‘skin tone, brow bone’ shades in my palettes anymore which is another reason for these two to be top of my fav chart.

Thanks for using clean makeup brushes in all your demos!! It may seem silly that I appreciate that, but it looks professional. Absolutely I would love to see a video on right brush vs wrong brush and how to use super pigmented shades. I think what you are trying to say about this pallet is that the parts aren’t thrilling but the sum of the parts is good. The eye look you did with it is gorgeous and I didn’t expect the final outcome when you started. You’re always very fair with your opinions.
Midnight Sun and Divine Rose are my first and second 10 pan mothership purchases. The other motherships are gorgeous, but I was afraid. These two seemed so much more everyday friendly for me. I’m thrilled with my purchases!

I'd love to see a guide video regarding highly pigmented mattes/brushes vs regular shadow mattes/brushes. Maybe a side by side comparison & advice demo.
I got this because I don’t have any of her large palettes. I likely have a similar green elsewhere and I don’t wear purples very often, but I know these are all colors I will use and I wanted to try out more of a variety of her formulas so I think it will be nice to have. What really struck me in the comparisons is how similar all the palettes really are ultimately. I could see picking up one more at some point, but I definitely won’t be collecting them all.

This will be my first big PM palette as well and after looking at all the Mothership choices, I felt the VI has current (on trend) shades that for me will be wearable and it has many look options to it. I get the Mother Earth vibe to it and love the look of the special shades to pop everything with. I can’t wait to receive it! I would like maybe one more as well but don’t see a need for all of them as they are similar in many respects.

This is the first PM palette I haven’t bought, and now I’m happy I passed. There just doesn’t seem to be anything in it that makes it unique. I love the look you got out of it though!
I would be so grateful if you did a tutorial exclusively on the Mothership palettes. I think I am ready to finally invest in one of them (if not this newest one, then one of the older ones). I’ve heard they can be tricky so tips and tricks from you would be wonderful. I really loved this tutorial - you are in close so we can see plus you applied the shadows in real time so I know how long it takes to blend. Thanks!

I love your videos Mel! I have issues blending the darkest purple matte shade in mothership V palette. That shade is so gorgeous and unique. I really want to learn how you work with Pat's mattes. :) Like the "right brush and the wrong brush", or "wet or dry" sort of technique things on her palettes. :)

Your swatches really told the story. I have all of her 10 and 6 pan palettes except for the decadence and subversive, and I don't think I will be getting anything unique out of this palette. Plus as you said, when I look at this palette, I'm just not inspired to put anything together and it requires a lot of thought about what would go to create an eye-catching yet cohesive look. Please do that “how to” video for the PM Palettes! I but the Mothership V palette but I always feel like I miss the mark when I try to apply it and it’s so discouraging. A video would be super helpful! You’re so great at instructing! ☺️

I have the minis and the big ones except for Decadence. Seeing your swatches helped to make up my mind that I don't need this new one yay! I just ordered it. I felt like I'm least interested in this palette, than I started to watch reviews on Midnight Sun, and BOOM, she added it to the sale. So I decided it was a sign.

Mel, on a side note. I was in Ulta the other day. Makeup Revolution has created 2 dupe palettes to the first 2 Mothership palettes. I purchased one for $20. And took it home to compare. It was uncanny! Not every shadow was exact. But, it was practically spot on! Even the layout of colors was exact! Not sure how another company is allowed to create without any ramifications. But, I thought it was worth a mention.

Yes, please do a troubleshoot video on her mattes. I can get them to blend out eventually but I stay away from it most of the time because I just don't have the extra time to fuss with them.

Thank you for all these comparisons! I have 4 PM Palettes and just swatched all mine together.. I am not a gold person so I just cant justify buying anymore of her Palettes when I will not use all the golds.. And she does a lot of golds! I would love a video of the best way to apply her shadows.. I find them to be very patchy and by the end of the day my makeup looks muddy and I have bare patches in my crease.. (I ha e hooded eyes). I am very experienced with makeup and don't have this problem with other Palettes unless I use like a glitter glue

I’m leaning toward pass. The shade selection is a bit confusing to me. It doesn’t really represent in my mind “Midnight Sun”, plus I was hoping for more purples and blues. Those special shades looked dull compared to the previous palettes.
As usual a great video I will definitely be adding this to my Pat McGrath collection because I'm OBSESSED! but in regards to your idea about a video on how to use her shadows, right brush versus wrong brush that would be a brilliant idea would love to see that video Mel.
