In my observation, the people who proudly and frequently say they support Israel are the same people most likely to use the word "Jew" as a verb.
Very much so. The right wing loves Israel and hates jews.
When conservatives say they support Israel,
They mean her supremacy, not her Jews.
Full stop.
I'd love to hear them say, the Jews, but,... know what... there's an entire video above.
@@designsonq1This!!!!! Christian Zionists are all about supporting Israel yet are virulent antisemitic. They support the “regathering” because they believe it will bring about end times and the return of J town. This will also result in the annihilation of all non-Christian so yeah, nothing at ALL pathological about that.🙄
Republicans politicians want a proxy army. Republican voters want them to destroy each other so Jesus comes back
I wonder if this might make me the other extreme, but the first thing that I fixate on is the quantity of synagogues and the differences between them, which goes beyond the Orthodox-Conservative-Reform trichotomy.
It always bugs me that people forget that Muslims worship the same god as Christians and Jews but people refuse to acknowledge that fact.
Indeed they do and that god's name is - Power.

This barely qualifies as satire, honestly. It's almost documentary.
That's true of all Steve's "quiet part out loud" videos.
@@davidstorrs
Sad and true.
The writing is damn clever and honestly that's what really separates it from being genuinely accurate regarding Republicans.
So it’s bad
That means it's good satire. Satire needs to be as accurate to the thing it parodies as possible to differentiate it from spoof. This has the issue of many satires being misunderstood without media literacy and media history knowledge. But that also means those who understand media better get it a lot easier.
@@spooderderg4077 Which puts more urgency in weaning United Staters off of cable news and getting them into something that isn't based on advertising partnerships.
“A lot of my base is looking for an excuse to support a genocide” is a terrifying sentence to hear but it does, sadly, seem to be exactly what can be concluded from this ongoing conflict.
I'd say it's shocking how quickly a huge chunk of the country started making excuses for it, but I've been paying attention too long to feel anything other than sadness. Of course a ton of Americans are rationalizing this! This is the country that wants to legalize shooting at immigrants trying to cross an invisible line, sometimes with kids with them. This is the country trying to make being homeless illegal so they can just round up the poor's and get them into the system. If human life was important to Americans we'd at least take care of our own people. All you should have to do is point out how many kids have died, but even that doesn't work. Apparently all the kids were Hamas so it's fine!
@@edwardzignot2681I'd say it's shocking how many people gloss over October 7th, as though an anti-Jewish genocide didn't happen.
If you find yourself on the side wanting to exterminate the Jews, maybe you're the baddie.
@@edwardzignot2681 If human life mattered to Americans they'd spend a reasonable amount on their military like other countries, and use the money they save on things like universal health care and a functional social safety net. They'd have rational gun control laws. They wouldn't be outlawing women's health care and bodily autonomy. Looking at it from an outside perspective, it's obvious that to a whole lot of Americans, human life is worth less than nothing.
Just "A" genocide? I think you'll find they support more than one, and want to dip their hands in the pool of blood here. The United Reich comment wasn't a mistake, it was exactly what they want.
That's exactly what's happening and oh by the way Hamas was created and funded by Israel.
Anti-semitism is a particular species of racism. Zionism is a particular species of ethno-nationalism.
Right thinking people oppose both.
Right wing thinkers oppose ethnonationalism and racism?
Right _wing_ people support both. There are only two reasons to deny this: 1) you legitimately arent paying attention to the other people in your group or 2) you know full well its the truth and that admitting it will drive decent people into active opposition to your group.

Zionism is complex, originally it was a communist thing, but in the last 30 years the right wing decided to take it as a marketing term and now 90% of "Zionists" ain't Zionists, if you want an ethno state and capitalism you ain't a Zionist, real Zionists want to build a secular communist place where Jews and the locals live together in harmony.

God damn, the chills that ran through me on that one.
Never in my life did i think i would see the nazis come back, and in america of all places
The real irony is that Israel has fallen to fascism. America has been courting fascism since fascism was a thing. We literally had a Nazi party before the war popped off and it became "uncool" to associate with an enemy in a world war. (It wasn't even because of the Holocaust, because as the video points out, a majority of people at the time had quite a bias against Jews.)
Really?
I mean the Confederate was the Nazis blueprint. We used to discuss this in school but that wasn't awhile ago.
Who… do you think inspired the Nzs? Htlr loved how the US treated black people under Jim Crow and what is Lebensraum if not the German Manifest Destiny. The US put its own Japanese citizens in concentration camps during WWII. What part of anything the US is doing today surprises you? That they’re arming, funding, and politically protected the gncde of indigenous Palestinians? The US was literally founded on the gncde indigenous peoples. That they economically and diplomatically support a violent apartheid state? They were doing the same for South Africa for decades, constantly using their veto to protect them, until the last literal second it was no longer politically viable to do so.
Seriously, what is the US doing that so shocks you? They’ve always been like this.
you should have paid attention. in 1939, the were more card-carrying members of the american nazi party in america than there were members of the actual german nazi party in germany.
by 1950, the majority of the nazi's propaganda and science bigwigs who had escaped the soviets were safe in america working for hollywood and nasa, respectively.
really, where else could it have gone? america was the only country of an authoritarian bent that would have welcomed such ... "persons".
@@CC01E zionist atrocities against palestinians predate the very existence of the nazi party by nearly a decade, their attainment of power, and the beginning of the holocaust by more than 25 years.

"I've never read the book" yeah that about sums it up
Amen!
Actually the book itself is pretty genocidal anyway, so this argument that the religious wackos don’t know their own religion is just pretentious anachronism, which considers modern hippie-like liberal reinterpretations of religions as the only correct way to read the Old Testament. Secular people should be opposed to the religious original too, regardless of your usual Republican ignorance.
"It can mean hello or goodbye? Like Aloha or your money's on the table?"
Fucking love that
Shalom means "peace." Which is, of course, quite ironic.
(As "hello" or "goodbye," it means "peace be with you." Aloha, on the other hand, means "love".)
Yep. The full version is "Shalom Alechem." Compare: _Salaam Alaykum,_ which is only distinguishable in the typical Amercian accent by the amount of rage the Right reacts with.
I feel like that subtlety would have been stronger if he hadn’t brought up the “hello/goodbye” bit.
“What does ‘Shalom’ mean?…” and then he goes on with the rest.
@@BlackCover95
Raise a question then discard the answer?
Yeah, fits the character....
"goodbye" is a contraction of "God be with you" ("god", not "peace"). "hello" didn't originally really mean anything.

"Actually, give DeSantis a few more years and Disney World will be Disney World with tanks. I've seen blueprints. They're breathtaking." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think what people still don't realize is that much of this is religion. I used to go to a church in which we-the congregation-were told to support Israel against "the enemy". I guess he meant Palestinians or Muslims. At the end of the day, it's vile racism masquerading as religion. Note how a lot of Israelis are ethically European and much of that area have brown skin. It's just like the enslavements of Africans and subjugation and removal of the Native Americans. It's the same, horrible song; just different lyrics.
Agreement save for one caveat: Ashkenazi Jews are still ethnically native to the Levant. It's just that they settled in Turkey, Eastern Europe, Italy, and Germany after the Romans scattered them. Sephardic Jews settled in Spain and North Africa, and Mizrahi Jews resisted just enough to stay close to their adopted homeland.
The state of Israel regularly refuses African Jews from returning as well.
Sometimes, they are allowed in on the proviso they get sterilised first. That’s not even trying to hide the eugenics behind it.
The religion I was raised in constantly called out the division of the Jews and the Gentiles, which was a nice way of saying the Jews against people who followed God and were the "right" people. Ironically, that same religion is a hard-core supporter of Israel. The hypocricy and the constant back-tracking of statements is never ending. They also keep caiming that they aren't racist, but you know... They're totally racist.
BS.
Salman Rushdie: A Palestinian state formed today would be 'Taliban-like'.

Those who refuse to convert to Jesus will be, um, "put to the sword." Those who convert will be baptized -- then put to the sword because "only God can know what is in their true hearts, whether their conversion is real, but that's okay because the true believers will sit at the right hand of God in Heaven." This is so bang on point, Shives, that hairpiece might already have a warrant out on it.
It baffles me how many people think anti-Semitism is specifically hatred towards Jews instead of hatred towards Semitic cultures.
Like for example, the Palestinians.
Nobody does religious discrimination like other religions.
Genuinely not talking about any specific religion, either.
The fundamentalists from all are just as guilty.
That's because the word "antisemitism" means "hatred towards Jews", not "hatred towards Semitic cultures". You can argue that it _shouldn't_ mean that, if taken literally based on its component morphemes, but that's what it means. The meaning of words is conventional, not compositional. "Globalization" literally means "making like a ball", but nobody is confused by that in actual political discourse.
Because anti-Semitism was developed and used for over a century as the scientific, "nice" way of saying Jew Hatred. It does not mean being against Semitic people, even if that is what many try to claim it means. Historically it means Jew Hatred.
Omg. Ikr?! They all apparently have no clue that everyone in that region are semites
Yeah, sure, by dictionary definition, but colloquially and historically, it's targeting the folks with the little round hats.
The Moustache Man, for instance, shook hands with and directly supported Hajj Amin al-Husayni, the Mufti of Jerusalem.
This comment is intended to be a purely factual correction-I suspect our politics agree almost 100%-but I did feel it important to pick this nit.
@@GSBarlev Colloquially perhaps, historically no: Historically it refers to the groups of people described in the original comment, to the languages rooted in their shared groups, and is an entirely deprecated term today. Literally nobody uses the word "semite" anymore; The only place you'll ever hear it is when being used in the phrase "anti-semite". However as English is a descriptive and not prescriptive language, the word means... whatever we're currently using it to mean; No cap!
Presently I only ever hear it used by people to dogwhistle their support of the rogue Israeli nationstate, or to undermine political arguments from left-leaning public figures - for example, "Corbyn is an anti-semite" or "Corbyn didn't weed out anti-semitism in the party".
I feel this nit was an important one to pick too, because the word is never really used by those who oppose Israel or hate Judaism or Jews, but rather seems to be used to label others as being members of those camps; To provide the necessary "othering" so as to help maintain the cohesion of that loose sociopolitical group? Your guess is at least as good as mine; It may even simply be emergent.
There's only one problem with this. Based on the way we've seen the fans of Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, and Dave Rubin turn on them, I sincerely doubt they'll give anyone a head start.
Frightening and resonant in equal measure
