보통 그래서 BTS 해외팬들은 뮤비에 가사를 같이 해서 절대 안보더라구요. 그럼 집중이 흐려지니까 한국어로 된 뮤비만 먼저 보고, 가사는 번역된 걸 따로 듣고 보면서 자세하게 몇버씩 해석.. 외국어라서 더욱 이렇게 노력하는 모습들이 너무 대단한것 같음..

- The mural with the white hands in the background represents "See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" and they also incorporated that saying into their choreography.
- One of BTS members, V or Kim Taehyung, seems to be enclosed by walls that has phones/social media all over it. But he is looking at the wall in front of him that is all scratched up as if someone has been trapped in a room trying to get out. The "Save me" upside down is also read as "I'm fine" (which is the title for one of the songs included in their latest album Love Yourself: Answer). What do you think BTS is trying to say with how phones/social media is connected to mental health?
- The water, fire, and snickers are symbolisms. You see, BTS have created this ongoing storyline throughout their music videos like Marvel and their films. So, it is not the first time we have seen water, fire, and snickers thats being represented in the Fake Love MV. All of the BTS members, except for one, have a "thing" that represents their fear (Jimin -> water, J-hope -> snickers, Suga -> Fire, RM -> mirror, etc). If you watch the Fake Love Teaser, then you'll see that the members exchange their past fear for something that makes them happy. ARMYs have been trying to decode the meaning of this whole storyline with theories for the longest time.
- When I first listened to BTS, I was also surprised at how good their rapline is! I've listened to other kpop songs before, but the rapping isn't that great tbh. My perspective totally changed with BTS. Then I learned that the original intention for BTS was supposed to be a rap/hiphop group, but their company eventually added in vocalists and choreography. The group's debut still highly focused on hiphop music though. As they got older, with trial-and-error, they started to experiment with other genres like EDM, rock, trap, latin pop, boombahtoon, traditional oriental beats, etc. Most importantly, BTS wrote their own lyrics since the beginning when they started out as teens. A short few years later, the company trusted the rapline with their producing skills so BTS's rapline co-produce is almost all of their own songs! They all have their own mixtape out too, you should check them out!
- One last thing, BTS is going to keep being represented as the forefront of "K-pop", so it will seem like the whole Korean Hallyu wave is going to join the ride and coattail BTS's success in the western music industry. However, that is not true. You can call BTS as the most known "k-pop group" or the "biggest boyband in the world" or "asian artists." At this point, BTS themselves don't care what people call them anymore. They're gonna just keep doing them and produce the kind of music/message they want.
In their latest song called IDOL, RM said "You can call me artist. You can call me Idol. Whatever you call me, I don't care." Message of that song is that they've come the point where they fully accept and love themselves, so they be staying UNBOTHERED.
At the end of the day, it is BTS's name that will only receive recognition in the western media/award shows/mainstream interviews and not every other kpop group.

하이채드 채널에 왜 BTS가 안 나올까 궁금했었어요 ㅎㅎ 채드가 좋아하는 카테고리가 아니거나? 남들이 너무 과하게 BTS 리액션 영상들을 올려서 본인까지 언급하고 싶지 않거나? 여러 이유가 있겠다 싶었는데 드디어 올라왔네요! ^^ 채드와 함께 감상하신 친구분이 영화를 볼 때도 그렇고 꽤 관찰력이 깊으신 것 같아요. 동생과 어머니의 리액션은 언제나 그렇듯 사랑스럽고요^^ BTS의 음악은 모두 10대 청춘들이 겪을만한 상처들(가정폭력에 의한 상처, 부모로부터 버림 받은 상처, 아동 성폭행의 상처, 무관심에 의한 상처, 경제적 어려움에 내몰리는 아이들 등..)을 멤버 한 명 한 명에게 캐릭터로 입혀 뮤직비디오를 만들어왔어요. 그래서 그들의 슬로건은 "Love Yourself" 입니다. 상처를 가진 채 살고 있는 수많은 청소년과 그런 트라우마를 가지고 있는 사람들에게 "스스로를 사랑하고 아끼라"는 조언으로 마음을 달래주는 것이죠. 스스로 나쁜 생각을 하며 더 상처되는 행동을 하지 못하게 하려는 그들의 음악메세지가 세계적인 팬덤을 만드는데 가장 큰 기여를 했습니다. 잘 모르는 사람들은 그들의 외모나 춤만 가지고 얘기하지만 실제로 BTS의 팬이 되는 이유는 그들의 음악 속 메세지가 더 큰 이유랍니다. (리액션 속 소녀들이 깔깔거렸던 부분인 스니커즈 장면 역시 MV 속 멤버가 어린시절 엄마로부터 버림받았던 트라우마를 묘사한 장면이에요- 아, 물론 이건 실제멤버의 상처가 아니라 acting 입니다-. 놀이공원에서 어린 아이에게 스니커즈를 건네주며 숫자를 세게 한 다음 엄마가 아이를 버리고 떠나버렸죠. 그래서 스니커즈 장면을 잘 보면 어두운 방 안에 놀이공원 물건들이 가득 있는걸 볼 수 있어요)
(그 외에도 친구분이 궁금해 했던 물, 불, 거울, 폭발 등이 모두 멤버들의 어린시절 트라우마와 관련된 metaphor 랍니다^^)

가끔 이런것도 좋다고 생각합니다.
솔직히 한국인 입장에서 미국에서의 인기가 너무 신기하게 느껴지기 때문이죠.
그래서 외국인들 반응을 볼때 이런 부분을 넣었으면 더 좋았을 것 같다는 생각을 합니다.
그 부분은 bts의 현재 미국에서의 성과를 말해주는 것이죠.
빌보드200에서 1위를 1년안에 연속으로 2번 했다 정도와 월드투어 상황정도를 미리 말해주는 것이죠.
그리고 뮤비를 감상하면서 왜? 그런 인기를 얻었을지 각자의 생각을 들어보는 겁니다.

Definitely Blood Sweat and Tears, DNA, Dope and IDOL are super fun! OH!! And Save Me + I'm Fine!! Those are sort of together so watching the Save Me music video and then the I'm Fine response 2 years later...its brilliant. The meaning of the choreography and even lyrics are inversed. Highly recommend!! They were all so nice and respectful, thank you!! Their music videos are all much more layered than they seem at first glance with symbolism tying to previous albums and cool art/literary references. Every aspect is purposeful to relay a message. Brilliant really!

IDOL 뮤비 영상도 봤으면 좋겠네요ㅋㅋㅋ 전 개인적으로 FAKE LOVE 보다 한국적인 부분들이 많이 들어가고 BTS가 하고 싶은 말들이 노래에 많이 들어간 것 같아서 IDOL 노래를 좋아해요. 물론 직역하면 약간 이상하긴 하지만....우상.... 한번 이 뮤비도 봤으면 좋겠네요(참고로 우상같은 이야기는 전혀 없어요. 그냥 한국에서는 어린 남, 녀 가수 그룹을 Idol이라고 불러요.)

This MV is one of the major parts of an underlying story line that has continued through BTS MVs since 2015.
