Baba Obey deserves to be honoured now when he is alive. It is not when he dies. His contribution to the musical world is unquantifiable. The songs he sang is still touching lives till today and will keep on touching lives. God bless you and your generations sir. Well-done Sir.
This guy is a very good interviewer. No interjection from beginning to the end. Some of our legend has many things inside them to say, but you can never get everything out of them if you're interjecting while interviewing them. God bless you and may God almighty grant Pa Ebenezer Obey longevity and divine health in Jesus Christ's mighty name.
One significant reason why I love Dele is his level of understanding of the journalism He always allowed his guest to express themselves without unnecessary interjection ❤❤❤. Alagba Kola Olootu, sir you needs to learn how not to interject unnecessary sir.
@agbaletu This is a fantastic intervview. But what pleased me most is Obey's health. This is the best i have seen him in years. You can tell by the way he spoke and his memory was incredible! He was sharp. Now,his singing voice was the best he has been for years as well.I could not believe that he could sing the Ajo yi o song.Thats a hard song to sing and he sounded great. Kudos bro and well done
I knew him when I was 13 years old Olonode street yaba and honestly all what he has been teaching comes a long way in my life and helps me to transfer this to my Children. Egbon thank you sir long life to you
May God keep Baba Obey fit in good health for many years to come. It is good that we have him on recorded interviews/chat of this nature which will remind future generations that a colossus, a giant passed through the music terrain of Nigeria leaving behind great works that will remain evergreen till eternity. God bless you Sir.
I'm glad that our icon was interviewed by this interviewer. He is the best I've seen in a long while in Nigeria. Highly knowledgeable, calm and intelligent. These qualities helped me to learn life's lessons from Evang. Ebenezer Obey's sojourn, I now understand why his music is laced with so much transformative grace! God bless you and your endeavours more and more. God bless Evan. Prof. Ebenezer Obey too, the best musician that ever sang in this world. Amen.
Pure and Godly humility , do u noticed at his age still calling Vasco Da Gama with respect? Is that the case today with our young artist? May God continue to be with you
I'm happy to see my best musician, Chief Commander Professor Ebenezer Obey (Baba Commander). Wishing you long life sir, robust health and more of God's blessings.
This interview revealed something unique, The way Baba Ebenezer talks shows that he is truly Sikiru Ayinde's mentor. They have similar expressions and deep respect for people who are older than them.
Yes, Monday John was a very good and mature human being. I happened to know him back then, very prayerful and his maturities that he displayed on that very particular day, really surprised me. May he rest in perfect peace.
Wow! This is a life lesson to be learned by everyone. Chief Ebenezer Obey is a father of humility and very caring person. I’m aligned myself with the policy of yellow and red cards as a leader because of human nature. There must be a control mechanism to checkmate human excesses. Thank you so much Agbaletu for your efforts and your team.
God bless you sir @Evangelist (Prof) Ebenezer Obey. I grew up listening to your music because my Dad (RIP) was a big fan, but ended up becoming a bigger fan. Why? Your vocal dexterity and rich instrumentation triggered and sustained my interest in music; those highly philosophical/spiritual lyrics influenced my life. Today, I am a Melophile because of you. Sir @Evangelist (Prof) Ebenezer Obey, there is no gain saying it that you have been a blessing to generations. God bless sir. Just like Abraham, God has offered you a flourishing posterity like the stars of heaven, and no devil can stop it. You have done well sir, we appreciate you. @AgbaletuTV, I love the detailed interview - listened to everything. Thank you
"ORO AWA EDA NILE AYE, HAA EYIN EEYAN MI, E SUN MOBI E WA GBO". This album was actually released in 1975. It was the flip side of "MUKULUMUKE MAA JO FOLORUN MI". Thanks.
Agbaletu, well done for a well conducted interview. Baba Obey, thank God for God's anointing upon you till date. Agbaletu, you are calm in action, you are cool, you are well organised. You allowed the interviewee to have enough time to express himself to logical points. More blessings to you & to Ebebezer Obey. Cheers!
An excellent interview again Papa Obey was very forthright and down to earth in this interview Very mentally alert with facts and dates of event May God continue to preserve his life Also kudos to Agbaletu for the matured and intelligent manner that he conducted the interview
Thanks for your remarkable contribution in cataloguing history for posterity. I've been hooked on your channel for 2 days non-stop now lol. Thank God for the life of Chief Commander, he is a living icon. God has giving him the precious grace and sound mental health to validate himself and correcting false narratives before they become historical facts. I would like to know more about Board members which is one of my favorite. Who were they and what was the story behind that inspirational evergreen jam?
DR DELE ADEYANJU THANKS FOR THIS GREAT INTERVIEW ..OUR UNBORN GENERATION WILL ALSO WATCH THIS AND THEY WILL BE HAPPY. PLEASE WE NEED YOU TO INTERVIEW KSA. IT WAS SO PAINFUL THAT ROLLING DOLLAR AND ORLANDO OWOH OF THE BLESSED MEMORY DOESN'T HAVE THIS TYPE OF LONG INTERVIEW, BUT WE THANK GOD FOR THEIR LIVES
Baba Ebenezer Obey is my best favorite musician and Dele Adeyanju is the best presenter that I love 💘 most. May God spared our lives together to enjoy ourselves 🎉❤❤❤
To me as a person, this great Singer is the world best Singer . How I wish He becomes my elderly friend . I listen only to his music in my life. Isaac Ajuwon is my name
He looks real good for 81. He's sharp spoken, articulate, good skin . I'm really happy for him. He came to play at a wedding party in London in 2007. We danced to Obey until the last hour. All the classics came out. There's no one sitting. Some pples stood looking like they were at a concert just watching in awe. Its like he came out of retirement of playing at private engagements.
This anchor is so matured, no interruption, and this made Baba to flow very well. God bless you. May you live long in good health Pa Evangelist Ebenezer Obey.
Baba Commander thanks for mentioning ECWA as part of your success. I am an ECWA member in ILORIN. I have watched you in ECWA song video when 1st ECWA, Taiwo invited you their anniversary of song.
Beautiful interview ,allowin baba to flow without asking questions or interrupting ,I would have loved the host to ask baba some basic stuff ,especially how gets his inspirations, composition ,writing, etc back then no advanced technology, also rumours about board members ,was told they didn't rehearse that album ..I'd like to ask baba the genius and most talented in his band ,especially when it comes to handling different musical instruments ..so many questions to be honest ..I guess 2 hours ain't enough ,apologies for my writings ,was in a hurry ..I do appreciate you guys ,thanks for sharing ,love from ❤ 🇳🇬 🇰🇼
Great interviewer. He has the style of legendary American journalist Larry King. Ask your questions as sit back and let your guests speak without much interruptions. He researches his guests very well before his interviews. The sky is the limit for you. Great job dude.
God bless you Mr.Adeyanju. Ki olorun tun bo lora emi baba obey. Most of the band boys have houses in d area I grew up. Obey bought d whole street and share it among his band boys. Giwa Arigidi first son was my childhood friend.
AGBALETU mogbe fun e..You are indeed a great student and a living encyclopedia of Yoruba Music..Thank you for helping to clarify in an entertaining manner the very many “folklorish matters” embedded in our historical / cultural antecedents from a music perspective as well document/preserve and bring to light matters that would help guide the future. You are one in a million and I celebrate you.
God continue to Bless Chief Commander Ebenzer Obey!! Do your best and leave the rest like you said. Ko sogbon to le da , Ko si iwa tole wu ? Tole fi taiye lorun oh.!!

Dele well done. Have you heard of Oladunni Decency, a female juju contemporary of KSA and baba Obey. She reportedly died in 1978 at the age of 29. Please do your findings on her.
Amazing revelations! This will be a valuable historical documentary long after Chief Commander has passed on into the Great Beyond. @Agbaletu, thank you for allowing the great icon to go down memory lane uninterrupted! I like the live music intro at the beginning of the video. Perhaps Commander can release more from his archives on CZcams. His memory is still very sharp!

This is the beauty of research. If you watch Dele's interview, you will see how lazy many Nigerian journalists are. He researched a lot before meeting his guests. So, that makes all his guests very comfortable to pour out things we've never heard before.
I like KSA's Energy and stage management, but I listen to Commander more. He has some beautiful story line I love the lead guitarist for Commander too.
I may be wrong but I do say it, no situation you may be or found yourself that Obey has not sung about. And if you listen to radio, you'll like him. Yemi Sonde is another OAP that makes me love his songs more. ❤
Baba Obey deserves to be honoured now when he is alive. It is not when he dies. His contribution to the musical world is unquantifiable. The songs he sang is still touching lives till today and will keep on touching lives. God bless you and your generations sir. Well-done Sir.
He definitely gets his flowers! U can’t mention music in Nigeria without mentioning his name amongst the rest of the greats back then
This guy is a very good interviewer. No interjection from beginning to the end. I knew the Chief Commander as a musical maestro. Now, I know that the man is full of wisdom. I respect him the more.
This interview is one of the best interviews people have granted you.
Please we need Sunny Ade's interview too.
Sunny Ade is creepy. He won't agree to sit and talk like Obey has done.
AGBALETU , you are gradually becoming , an household name in Nigeria, keep pushing, thy Lord is on your side, I n Jesus name, Amen and Amen.❤
