The fact that Shadow's misinterpretation has gotten so badly that people in videos like this casually call shadow a villain and say he has an edgy attitude just makes me sad.

Ok the three characters I want to see are Amy Rose, Shadow, And Metal Sonic. Shadow is confirmed, Amy would be the perfect female character to add, and Metal would be just cool.

If I remember correctly, the Sonic movies are supposed to be based off of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, so I feel like Amy and Rouge should make an appearance. I'm hoping Rouge will make her appearance because she became a dear friend to Shadow throughout the games. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Omega didn't make it but it'd be cool if he was there too.
I hope Amy and rouge are there, otherwise we might have another shitty Chris Thorndike situation where some random human takes Amy's role.

Nah. We’ve had dozens of Sonic stories that were good without Eggman. The real bummer is that if there’s no Eggman, there’s no Metal Sonic. So, no chance for Metal.

It's inevitable, he is the main antagonist of the sonic series and he is at every single Sonic game, Eggman it's one of the faces of the Sonic series with Sonic himself, Tails, Knuckles and Amy, and adding Eggman's death is basically saying screw to the series.
I know they can't do much about Jim, and they can't convice him, he will be back if he want, but killing Eggman isn't the best option, and YES any piece of Sonic midia needs Eggman
If Jim doesn't come back and they keep Robotnick, they'll probably get someone who has similar energy to Jim and will look closer to robotnicks original look from the games. I hope anyways. Be great to see him again.

Lastly, Shadow will NOT be the villain to replace Robotnik through the series. The director worked on the Shadow the Hedgehog game and know Shadow's character. And they know making him an overarching antagonist will be a huge disservice to the character. If anyone will be the overarching villain, it'll either be Agent Stone or Metal Sonic.
I hope so. The fact that the director likes this character and worked with him so closely and knows him well gives me hope.

I really want Amy to be in Sonic 3. She plays a huge role in Shadow’s development(but if he doesn’t get a redemption arc that probably means she’s not in it) and she’s a really cool character when you focus on the Sonic Adventure games instead of the later ones, which is when sega got lazy if you ask me.
She’s canonically one of Sonic’s best friends, and even if she only appears in the end-credit scene, I’ll be satisfied.

I feel like I’m one of the only few that was disappointed when seeing shadow instead of Amy and metal in the end credits.
I fear that they might be skipping out on her again (ex. Mania, Origins, merchandise,etc.) like Sega had been doing (it’s gotten little better with frontiers and other media).
On one hand she could be added to the third movie but they rush her arc and backstory because they are too focus on shadow. That if she even get enough scene time.
On the other they could save her for the fourth movie (she could be in the end credits of third film). She’ll get more scene time but we’ll miss out on her scene with shadow AGAIN😑 (ex. Sonic X and Archie). Not to mention we’ll have to wait two more years after the third movie.
Hopefully they’ll prove my concerns wrong and give both Amy ( if she make it into the movie🥲) and Shadow(along with the sonic cast) equal amount scene time and development.
I hope the 3rd film is also based on Sonic CD to introduce Amy Rose and possibly have Metal Sonic be revealed to be the main villain of Sonic movie 3 with Shadow being a secondary antagonist.

ive got a feeling shadow isnt going to be the main villain, theres still atleast 2 other choices, either;
A) Eggmans dad from sonic adventure 2 breaks out of an insane asylum / prison with help of shadow, possibly framing sonic as he ususally does and sonic and the friends go undercover for their own sakes.
B) a potentially worser threat such as chaos from sonic adventure 1 leads shadow to join the team, either sacraficing himself or running away to a new planet.
i really hope shadow backstory still has maria in it.
if they are keeping the overall story lines from the games in, sonic three should have some of those same characters.

Imagine chaos in real life CGI, he's going to be huge.
Shadow is more of a threat than chaos in technicality. His character, form and powers also make him a worthy adversary, a potential threat to both sonic, and his family. (Possibly Robotnik if he goes down the path to be his own villain.) shadow is much darker than other villains in my opinion.
Jason Griffith should play him because then things will really start to get interesting and to top it if he will be playing shadow i will be personally in the movie theater be at the edge of my seat lol

A lot of old times fans (including me) want to see Jason Griffith voice Shadow. Who wouldn't? He was the best Shadow! But we have to think logically here. To draw in more people, they'll want a bigger named actor for Shadow because he'll be the main antagonist. It would make more sense that they might cast Keanu Reeves for him. Btw I think he would be a really good casting choice. I'm anticipating Rouge to be in this movie. I don't know if they can handle throwing in Amy as well. But Rouge just makes more sense especially with G.U.N. and Shadow's development.

I’ve noticed that Jason Griffith has been more active on Twitter in recent months for some unknown reason. One of his last tweets before his sudden spike in twitter posts was about half a year ago and to see him just start posting stuff out of the blue has me curious. I’m not saying anything but it’s just too convenient that a couple of months after the sonic movie 2 was released Jason starts being more active on his Twitter account.
I don't think Jim Carey specifically said he doesn't want to continue Sonic, he just said he wants to retire from acting. He might come back to close out sonic considering he is already this far in and has stated he enjoys playing the character

First of all, Knuckles didn't debut in Sonic 2, he debuted on Sonic 3. And second, Keanu Reeves would make a good Shadow ;v;
Shadow is not a villain. He is an antihero. I will say with a lot of angst, but people tend to over exaggerate his personality by calling him super edgy. He's also not Sonic's arch enemy. His rival, maybe, as they don't always see eye to eye but did come to respect one another.
Just to get the story straight, seeing as how you used most of the above in the video. His character gets misinterpreted a lot, it seems.
Now, whether or not Paramount decides to make him a villain in their telling of this Sonic franchise branch is another story.
I really hope they don't, though. I feel like that will further cement SEGA's insistence to throw him in with the 'villain' category.
I don't know every little detail about him, but I think Shadow is an awesome character with a great story. I hope they do him justice.

I have no idea why, but I have a really weird feeling that Metal is going to be in the movie. Sure, Shadow will most likely be the main villain, but think about it. If you look it up, Sonic and Shadow are "clearly friends". Maybe it'll play out like what happened with Knuckles. Metal would be a good secondary villain, since he played a big role in his debut game, Sonic CD, and a few other games as well. Metal probably won't be in the movie, but it is a possibility! Maybe there'll be an end scene where Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Shadow fight Metal! (also if there is a fight scene with Metal, I hope they play the Vs. Metal theme for Generations)

Anyway, for me Shadow's dubber will be Kirk Thornton.
