As one of the BIGGEST gen 3 buffs you'll ever meet, you absolutely KILLED it as Steven! Collabing with Cam as Wallace was something I didn't see coming, but was so glad you did. I can assure you, you did the role justice and more.

I thought it was really cool when you and Cam shared the verse. It worked great especially with Gen 3 being the introduction of Doubles. Really good stuff from everyone. Also, now I have the weird thought that is someone like Alder paying taxes.

You were PHENOMENAL (as always) alongside Cam repping Gen 3, and yours was my second favorite verse, but Chi-Chi completely blew me away. I thought she couldn’t get any better after the Trainer Cypher and the Ladies of Anime Cypher, but she has done nothing but improve!

Damn how does Mat4yo not have more subs he's so talented and understands the structural elements of what makes great music on top of all this he is eloquent enough to explain his thought processes. Keep it up your doing great
Don't know whether this was intentional or not but I really appreciate the latter half of Cam and your verse. The structure is pretty much identical but Steven's delivery is rigid and constant throughout its segment; each syllable lands on the quaver beat for beat. It's rock solid. Wallace's delivery takes that same structure but gives some syllables some stress and emphasis than others, giving it some rhythmic highs and lows. It ripples and flows.
Love the champion cypher so much. Been listening to it since it came out. You did an amazing job repping my personal favourite champion Steven and doing him justice! #TeamHoenn. Everyone on the cypher was just amazing!

Oh my it is the man himself. Okay, I cannot express how much joy it brings me to hear these pokemon cyphers, and as a fellow Gen 3 stan (Hoenn = Ho-WIN), the perfect synergy between you and Cam as Steven and Wallace had me shaking my arms so much in enjoyment I dented my wall and nearly damaged my hand.
You, Cam, and ConnorQuest are without a doubt in mind the wittiest, most capable, and downright best at writing lyrics.

I really love Steven's first line because it's so short but so layered. The internal rhyme is amazing, and so is the reference to the "man of steel" Stalin doubling as a reference to stalling in battles. The Stalin reference is even better because Steven's father is named Joseph. Awesome work!!!

I am a gen 3 baby you guys were so amazing
Imma throw in a few other things I personally noticed
Diantha's verse is all presentation in the first half, straight up singing the region and gimmicks of gen 6 and Kalos just like the games, then jumping into the raps changing the meter for each Pokemon. Gourgeist is measured deliberate cause it's a tank, Diancie comes out a nowhere after a fast triple, and Tyrantrum barges in immediately after, showing they're all offence, to say nothing about Gardevoir closing out the song section. This is a perfect reflection of her team comp, in which every mon is deliberately different to highlight the variety.
Alder's 'rona rap is crazy not just cause it goes for the Volcarona/COVID parallel, but also cause it carries on the Iris puns. The Corona is basically a ring of color, like around the sun, but also refers to the rings of color in the eye's Iris.
I love that Lance's lines are unapologetically dorky, especially the opening. Lance is 100% the type to cram dragon into everything before straight up telling you his strat through Rock-Star presenting. Also shoving the Stadium tem references with Steelix, Kangaskhan, and Tyranitar. That's doubly so for Blue's Yellow/Magneton line.
I freaking loved the feedback between Steven and Wallace. So freaking fabulous it hurts, with the geography and Ancient Greece lines, as well as the move puns, being the icing on the cake.
Kukui's verses matching the laid-back, no fucks given energy of Elio's and later Hau's verses makes each Alola parts of each cypher stand out together.
I like that Blue's team presentation has it's lead-in lines on the beat, making the verse feel more deliberate, like he's calculating his game plan, right before hitting you with the off-tempo end of "saw your flaws and exploited them" making it feel like he's running circles around you
God Cynthia's feels like an event. Obviously you don't have THE champion without extra panache, but Chi-Chi didn't need to write a FOURTH top tier theme for Cynthia. She just did, and God damn did it steal the show for a minute.
Finally Leon. Jumping in before his verse even starts with the "me!" to Kukui's end line reinforces Leon's self assured nature and his tendency to get lost while simultaneously introduced Dan's off the cuff style. The way he jerks you from one rhyme scheme to the next with a 3/3/3/4 word tempo into a 4/5/4/6, and then BACK into the 3/4, just to end it with an understated not-so-humblebrag is just SO Leon and also SO Dan Bull.
Oh yeah! While the Gyarados and Milotic lines ended up doubling up on accident, it's pretty cool that it reflected what actually happened in-game

Was a reference to the fact that steven uses steel types and in the meta a lot of the steel types are used as walls for setup and stall. Which goes into the Metagross line. Maybe it was unintentional or maybe I am reaching.

This was amazing! Diantha had my favorite verse, it was so pleasantly surprising to see Trickywi. I loved the duo verses as well, such a cool way of implementing both champions, (though I am surprised Hau wasn’t a part of it, or had his own verse, since he’s the champion instead of Kukui in Ultra Sun/Moon). Speaking of Kukui, I absolutely loved his opening line, 10/10 opening right there. Overall, I think everyone really brought it, great cypher!

Same, dude. I have a similar opinion and Trickywi killed it with her half-vocal, half-rap verse. I also liked G. Yee and Dan Bull, but Breeton wasn’t to bad either. The opening line definitely was spot-on.

I’m months late, but I do think that Dan may have been bragging just a little in his first line “I’ve been here for aeons, I’m easily the best.”, that dude has been at this for a long time and definitely shows. Of course it also ties in with how Leon is a total braggart, so maybe I’m just seeing patterns that don’t exist.

My question is thou on Chi-Chi’s verse did you guys bot use Cynthia’s theme like you did in the others. If you did, then i missed it over her vocals, which I was a little disappointed that it got so overshadowed by it. because D/P/P is what got me into Pokemon.
