When I look back at this video, I cannot help but say thank God Chris and David tried to convince Alan Rickman. No one could possibly be a better Snape than him.
Alan Rickman has such a perfect voice for a villain.I just love him.

@@113faridanur6 During the press tour for "Deathly Hallows: Part 2", Alan was asked to give his thoughts on how a lot of the child actors were scared of him at first. He replied, "You're starting with three twelve-year-olds, and I walk onto the set with black lenses in my eyes, an all-black-outfit, and a black wig. And all I can say is that as soon as I put that costume on, something happens. You can't be someone else inside that outline. It has an effect on me. So, I'm not surprised if they got a bit alarmed, but it was just the nature of the beast."

"I've got lots of godchildren, nephews and nieces." I love how his extended family begged him to take part in this series. Even though it's been 3yrs since the last film (surreal, I know), he still talks about it w/ such sentimentality like a giddy schoolboy. It's so sweet. Funny, though, how he didn't mention having kids of his own. I wonder why. But I guess, in a way, all the kids on the cast & who've read the books & seen the movies ARE his children. He certainly seems to care for them that way.
Thanks. I'm pretty good at reading people, & I sense that a caring like the 1 he had for them doesn't go away, even if the video itself is old. In some of his more recent interviews, the ones in which this role was brought up, he still gets a big smile & a special twinkle in his eyes. That's what I meant by sentimentality. It lasts forever, & it's usually easy to see even right at the beginnings of long journeys.
He wanted children ! Not just one but 3. But it was Rima's choice to not have any and Alan respected it. :(

Alan is a great actor, and he made an excellent work on every movie
People really don't give Chris Columbus enough credit. He was the one who cast all the major roles and built Harry's world from scratch based on Rowling's description. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't have such amazing people for the major roles such as Dan Rupert and Emma, Alan Rickman, Dame Maggie Smith, and Robbie Coltrane to name a few. The later directors had a much easier job as they just built off of what Columbus did and used the same lead actors. Also, Columbus was the only director who really seemed to know the characters and directed the actors appropriately. He would never have allowed "HARRY DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET!?" from Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. Did any of the later directors read the books like Columbus did (I know that Alfonso Cuaron had never heard of HP when he got the job but I don't know about the others)?
Honestly, even though Alfonso Cuaron hadn't read the books, he still did a fantastic job at directing the third movie, which is in the top 3 best movies from the series for sure.

Yep. I think Rowling chose Rickman to play Snape to provide sexy entertainment for the series' fans' moms and older sisters/cousins.

I adore Snape's character so much like I am really obsessed with him I am binge watching harry Potter movies and shorts just for him+I watched his old movies and short film as well but what I feel is this was his most phenomenal performance he nailed every scene and did justify his character so well that you get goosebumps watching him+I don't think I would be able to love the other characters he played in other movies as much as I did in this movie,
His long coat,hairstyle,profound voice,body language,tread ,expressions of annoyance,pain & happiness on his face and everything about him is just so perfect that you can't help but fall in love with him, Snape's calm demeanor & 🆒 aura keep you engaged the whole time,My heart is still fluttering and it ain't stable,someone plz hold me🙊

Next to Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman is probably the best actor I have ever seen. He's just incredible! Any movie with him and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) is gonna be good. (Anyone seen Sweeney Todd?!?!?!?!?)
The scene with Alan Rickman with Daniel and Emma and Rupert with a tragic scene and it was really fantastic
At the time this interview was conducted, no one knew that snape was not actually a villain. So you can't blame them for referring to him as a villain. We only find out that he was actually a good man all along, in the very last book which was not released at this time.
