That's great, but you also have to consider the time and problem you're trying to solve. There are problems that you're taking a stab at solving just cannot be done without big investment at this current climate. If you don't raise capital someone else will, and they'll burn and then take the market. Not every business is possible to be bootstrapped, when you're one vc funded competitor away from going out of business.
However, what these guys did was exactly what pure technology business look like. Extremely asset light, extremely low capex fintech business. They grew through network effect, which isn't a suitable strategy for all businesses.

Why do all the journalist keep asking the same repetitive question from such smart guys. I mean do some solid research, Build some smart questions and ask about those things. Every now and then the same question of "Do you wanted to build this way, Do you always wanted that, Why do you chose to keep it bootstrapped" Every person know this story, ask something different please.
Everything about Zerodha is fantastic, just wanted to say thanks to the host for representing our culture so beautifully with bindi + saree and not go for some cheap exposing western dress..😊 and kailash is soo humble and knowledgeable

All these brokerage houses and also insurances businesses are not very capital intensive businesses. Zerodha is a brokerage house which still charges flat per transaction so don't promote as zero brokerage.they don't have much to spend except for software and licence operation costs are cheaper once set up and established.its media which hypes and hypes and exaggerates and drives buisness to such business.
Bhai to kabhi sbi securities pe demat account banao.. Jab 1% brokerage lage ga then only will u realize zerodha's importance and how it has revolutionized the equity market access in india
