I'm the 75 year old granddaughter of a Pennsylvania coal miner. Every coal miner is someone's son or daughter; someone's husband or wife; someone's father, mother, aunt, uncle and most of all a human being with a soul. Someone who will be missed. May God bless every one who has been touched by the loss of a COAL MINER.

When I hear this song I think of my sister Carol with her auburn hair and ivory robe on Sunday mornings lighting the chancellor candles. She had a strong faith in Jesus and I'm sure His angels took her troubled soul to heaven the day she left this earth.

I am in a bluegrass/gospel group in Raleigh, NC. I sang lead on this song at a funeral at an little country church. There was a young man who was fighting God in his heart. He was so convicted during this song, that he got up and walked out and sat on the front stoop. Right there he surrendered under conviction and accepted the Son as his Lord and Savior. Praise God for this song.
