i have ADHD to, i have learned to try hyper-focusing on it and repeating the same thing over and over, its really helpful considering i have a wondering brain and can never seem to keep the same thought in my head for more than 5 seconds lol
I have ADHD too! i often just try to be nice to myself. I just tell myself that is okay to be distracted and have stuff in the back of my mind, just try to focus the best I can and often I just end up doing it anyways. I know i probably wont be able to get fully absolutely focused like others and just learn to work with that. Hope that helps!

If a jar is going to be thrown into a river or buried, it would be best to use a container and ingredients that are biodegradable and won't damage the earth. Glass and salt for example should be properly disposed of.
Don't stress too much.... honestly they're pretty safe and if you do mess up it will become a GREAT learning tool for you and your practice. If you want to get really good at magic, you NEED to mess up so don't let that fear stop you!
Brilliant tip melting the bottom of the candle to seal. I always make a hot mess trying to drip it from the flame end. This way I can also affix the melty end to a plate to burn down and finish the ritual.

Pretty much - depending on the use for the jar. So for mine, I'm leaving it on my altar and when I'm feeling unwell or emotional due to the pregnancy I simply shake it, or pop it on my desk as I'm working. Worked a treat last Friday when I had a super emotional day and nothing was going right, gave it a shake, sat with it and 20 mins later heard back from my midwife and all was right in the world! Once this bubba is out in the world, I'll probably bury it :)

I won't be creating any new content for a little while (baby could arrive at any moment). Green is the colour you want for abundance and if you google herbs/oils/crystals for abundance you can find a whole range of things to use. Trust your intuition.
I have a question for how to acsess the crystal chips. My local store dont have small crystals. I'm wondering if you can use a big crystal and "destroy" it til smaller pieces?
Ohhhh my gut reaction is no, that would mess with their energy. Have a look online, even if you find a crystal seller that has what is often called 'chip bracelets' you can buy one of those and just cut through the elastic.

I'd recommend you create your own, there is so much more power in it that way. Make sure to check your ingredients that they correspond to your intent and get creative!
For me so I don’t go buy buy buy a million things, I look at all that I currently have and use my intuition, does it look like it belongs and does it smell like it belongs. Spells are strongest when you make it up from start to Finnish
Without knowing your level of study and experience I can't tell you for sure. Personally it took me about 5 or 6 years of dabbling with herbs, divination and a few other areas before I tried a spell jar, but my journey is not the same as yours. Feel in to your intuition and it will tell you when you're ready.

Hello Haru, Yes, make the spell jar with your friend in mind. Envision them in a bubble of protection, incorporate their name on a piece of paper inside the jar. There are loads of ways to really weave them into the spell. Have fun!

Yes you absolutely can, that's what I'd LOVE for you to do! Make sure to double check the ingredients align with your purpose. I woudn't put lavender (calm, sleep) with chilli flakes (speed, lust, energy) for example as they have opposite uses.
Yes of course! You can place the jars in the moonlight, or on a disc of selenite. Wash them in moon water, or even just ordinary soap and water! Visualisaton and intent are key for this though.
You'll want to use intentional ingredients. Make use of what you already have on hand before going out to purchase new things. Choose your intent for the spell jar, and then choose herbs, crystals, resins etc. that coincide with the energy of that intent or goal you're wanting to achieve. Using chamomile for example, in a motivation or energy jar will not work, the energies cancel each other out as chamomile is calming and relaxing.

You can use scented candles... I always say to use whatever you have on hand rather than going out to buy special materials. You'll want the scent to coincide with your intent too. If it's lavender scented and you're doing a money spell that probably won't work for your benefit. Lavender for a sleep spell however, would be perfect.

The order of ingredients does not matter to me, it is personal preference how you put them in. You can definitely make a protection jar for your friend. Maybe write their name on a piece of paper an place it inside?
Hello! If it's done its job, I recommend burying the contents on your property (unless you used salt, then pop it in the trash). Clean the jar and recycle or reuse :)
Generally you know the spell is complete once you've seen the results or if the wax starts to fall off the jar or the inside looks a bit off. You can then empty the contents into the bin, and recycle the jar. If the jar doesn't contain salt or other harmful ingredients for the soil, then you can bury the contents (close to your home if it was a spell to bring something to you, far from your home if it was a hex breaker or something like that).
If casting a circle forms part of your practice, the you certainly can. Personally, I don't include them in what I do, so would say, it's not necessary.

Firstly it depends what the jar is for. I don't recommend spell jars for all intentions as they're a slower, longer form of magic. Salt itself is clearing and protective but it won't charge the crystals, actually, some crystals can corrode with salt.

I love them, but not for everything. With Witchcraft, it's always going to be 'each to their own' in terms of how you practice and what makes sense for you. Spell jars are pracical because the spell is contained, there's less mess, it's portable, you can take it with you and I see it almost like creating an amulet for your intent. I wouldn't use a spell jar for road opening, block busting, hex breaking etc. but definitely for protection, abundance, safe travel, sleep etc.
What spell should I do first and do you have any tips on what to buy? I honestly don't use a tonne of wax, and depending on the type you use it comes off quite easy. But in answer to your question, you don't need to seal it like this if it doesn't feel right.
Depends on the ingredient. Feel into its energy, and if in doubt, there's no real harm in cleansing it all beforehand. If, however, you use flowers/herbs from the garden, I'd say they're perfectly fine as they are.
Some great herbs to have on hand are Rosemary, Lavendar, Rose Petals, Cinnamon, Orange Peel, Clove, Star Anise, Bay Leaf and there is so many more but any of those are a great beginners point. It all depends on the intention for the spell jar too. Maybe choose your first intention and gather herbs from there?
@@ariannatroutlake6479 that makes sense. You may have to get creative with what you have on hand. Birthday candles can work instead of spell candles. You might find old crystal bracelets or gems in a thrift shop or on facebook marketplace.
Please do not dispose of anything into rivers or streams. It’s bad for wildlife and the environment. I prefer to open it and set it free to do its work
I’ve been considering using the seed papers for spell work that you would typically dispose of outside. It would leave no carbon footprint and should work just as well as a jar to hold them. Then when you bury it in the earth it would biodegrade and return to the earth as well as plant some seeds

When sealing a spell jar with wax, can it be any candle, specific unscented candles, or are they special candles? Edit: and if I have the wax for stamping, could I use that for extra colors?
You can use any wax you feel called to. I haven't used stamping wax so unsure how sufficiently it holds, might even be better than other candles. I would say to use the unscented ones solely because they're cheaper.

Yes generally. Lot's of Yellow and Orange for a happy jar. Orange peel for joy, lemon peel for happiness. Maybe some citrine, yellow jade and clear quartz too.

Are you making it so they have more self love for themselves? There's not a lot that can go wrong. I'd recommend items like rose petal, rose quarts, clear quartz, violet flower or leaf, neroli essential oil, pink or green candle wax, green aventurine and maybe even a self love sigil on a piece of paper inside the jar (or etched into the wax top).

Yep! Consider asking them in advance if they'd be open to you doing that. A charm bag is another option, especially if it's going under their pillow or in their pocket.

Technically you don't need to. I like it for a) aesthetic purposes b) additional energy within the colour of the candle and the energy expended in adding it c) sealing purposes so the spell can't be tampered with

Yes you can, black is another great option too. Keep it as long as you need it, that's the beauty of jar spells, they keep for a long time. If it feels like it's not working so well after a while, give it a shake or pop it on your altar to charge it up.

It will depend on the intention. There are a few hints in this video as to using herbs and plants that correspond based on colour, shape and usage. Same goes with crystals. Google is your friend and slowly, over time, you'll figure out what works and doesn't work for you.
What if you cant find a place to bury the bottle afterwards? I live in a city and I cant really go to a public park and start digging a small hole. Theres homeless people and also depending on the city they try to keep the grass nice so I dont really have a place to bury these.

Hello! You'll want to keep the jar sealed until you know the spell/intention has worked OR until you see the wax falling off the jar or contents becoming a bit icky. In that case, recycle any items that you can (gemstones can be cleansed literally and spiritually) and re-used. Bury everything else, as long as it is non-toxic to the environment (be careful of burying salt as it can upset the soil microbiome). Jars can be reused too.

Candles aren't typically used for cleansing in that manner. I recomend smoke cleansing for bottles OR simply cleaning with soap and water and imagining any spiritual residue being removed will do tha trick too.

I find speaking out load and repeating my intention helps. The moment I’m silent my mind runs off

I have a question for how to acsess the crystal chips. My local store dont have small crystals. I'm wondering if you can use a big crystal and "destroy" it til smaller pieces?
Ohhhh my gut reaction is no, that would mess with their energy. Have a look online, even if you find a crystal seller that has what is often called 'chip bracelets' you can buy one of those and just cut through the elastic.

I'd recommend you create your own, there is so much more power in it that way. Make sure to check your ingredients that they correspond to your intent and get creative!
For me so I don’t go buy buy buy a million things, I look at all that I currently have and use my intuition, does it look like it belongs and does it smell like it belongs. Spells are strongest when you make it up from start to Finnish
When should you make your first spell jar? I have been studying and I don’t want to start to early.
Without knowing your level of study and experience I can't tell you for sure. Personally it took me about 5 or 6 years of dabbling with herbs, divination and a few other areas before I tried a spell jar, but my journey is not the same as yours. Feel in to your intuition and it will tell you when you're ready.

Yes you absolutely can, that's what I'd LOVE for you to do! Make sure to double check the ingredients align with your purpose. I woudn't put lavender (calm, sleep) with chilli flakes (speed, lust, energy) for example as they have opposite uses.

Yes of course! You can place the jars in the moonlight, or on a disc of selenite. Wash them in moon water, or even just ordinary soap and water! Visualisaton and intent are key for this though.

You'll want to use intentional ingredients. Make use of what you already have on hand before going out to purchase new things. Choose your intent for the spell jar, and then choose herbs, crystals, resins etc. that coincide with the energy of that intent or goal you're wanting to achieve. Using chamomile for example, in a motivation or energy jar will not work, the energies cancel each other out as chamomile is calming and relaxing.
other than cleansing your area, do you need to do anything to before you make a spell jar? i want to make one but i just want to be fully prepared beforehand
Just make sure you're grounded, centred and calm :)

You could, I haven't done it myself as I prefer using incense or herbs. Potentially the smoke from a white candle however would work nicely.

You can use scented candles... I always say to use whatever you have on hand rather than going out to buy special materials. You'll want the scent to coincide with your intent too. If it's lavender scented and you're doing a money spell that probably won't work for your benefit. Lavender for a sleep spell however, would be perfect.

Hello! If it's done its job, I recommend burying the contents on your property (unless you used salt, then pop it in the trash). Clean the jar and recycle or reuse :)

Not really. I often like to use the candle for something else later and this way it's not 'burnt' yet.
When and how to we empty or get rid of spell jars? How long should we wait? What to and not to do
Generally you know the spell is complete once you've seen the results or if the wax starts to fall off the jar or the inside looks a bit off. You can then empty the contents into the bin, and recycle the jar.
If the jar doesn't contain salt or other harmful ingredients for the soil, then you can bury the contents (close to your home if it was a spell to bring something to you, far from your home if it was a hex breaker or something like that).
Do you need to cast a circle when making a spell jar?
If casting a circle forms part of your practice, the you certainly can. Personally, I don't include them in what I do, so would say, it's not necessary.

Firstly it depends what the jar is for. I don't recommend spell jars for all intentions as they're a slower, longer form of magic. Salt itself is clearing and protective but it won't charge the crystals, actually, some crystals can corrode with salt.

I love them, but not for everything. With Witchcraft, it's always going to be 'each to their own' in terms of how you practice and what makes sense for you. Spell jars are pracical because the spell is contained, there's less mess, it's portable, you can take it with you and I see it almost like creating an amulet for your intent. I wouldn't use a spell jar for road opening, block busting, hex breaking etc. but definitely for protection, abundance, safe travel, sleep etc.

It all depends on your intent. Common spell jars are for self love, prosperity, peaceful sleep, protection etc.

It's totally fine if you forget to cleanse it. It's a nice to have, not a necessity
is it ok to use elmers glue or not use wax or anything like that at all? i want to make spell jars but im intimidated by the permanence of using wax and i want to reuse the jar and stones in the jar as well.
I honestly don't use a tonne of wax, and depending on the type you use it comes off quite easy. But in answer to your question, you don't need to seal it like this if it doesn't feel right.

Depends on the ingredient. Feel into its energy, and if in doubt, there's no real harm in cleansing it all beforehand. If, however, you use flowers/herbs from the garden, I'd say they're perfectly fine as they are.

Some great herbs to have on hand are Rosemary, Lavendar, Rose Petals, Cinnamon, Orange Peel, Clove, Star Anise, Bay Leaf and there is so many more but any of those are a great beginners point. It all depends on the intention for the spell jar too. Maybe choose your first intention and gather herbs from there?

Yep, you definitely can. Just be cautious of cleaning the bottle thoroughly with both soap and water as well as an energetic method like smoke.

Please do not dispose of anything into rivers or streams. It’s bad for wildlife and the environment. I prefer to open it and set it free to do its work
Yes - definitely never place anything in a stream. The contents (if safe) can be buried as long as you don't use salt and the jar reused.
I’ve been considering using the seed papers for spell work that you would typically dispose of outside. It would leave no carbon footprint and should work just as well as a jar to hold them. Then when you bury it in the earth it would biodegrade and return to the earth as well as plant some seeds

When sealing a spell jar with wax, can it be any candle, specific unscented candles, or are they special candles?

You can use any wax you feel called to. I haven't used stamping wax so unsure how sufficiently it holds, might even be better than other candles. I would say to use the unscented ones solely because they're cheaper.

Yep that sounds perfect - perhaps use dried lemon peel as adding lemon oil can introduce moisture into the jar which isn't always a good idea.

Yes generally. Lot's of Yellow and Orange for a happy jar. Orange peel for joy, lemon peel for happiness. Maybe some citrine, yellow jade and clear quartz too.

Are you making it so they have more self love for themselves? There's not a lot that can go wrong. I'd recommend items like rose petal, rose quarts, clear quartz, violet flower or leaf, neroli essential oil, pink or green candle wax, green aventurine and maybe even a self love sigil on a piece of paper inside the jar (or etched into the wax top).

I actually shake the jar to 'reinvigorate it' and give it a boost. As always, whatever feels right to you and your practice is the way to go :)

Yep! Consider asking them in advance if they'd be open to you doing that. A charm bag is another option, especially if it's going under their pillow or in their pocket.

Technically you don't need to. I like it for a) aesthetic purposes b) additional energy within the colour of the candle and the energy expended in adding it c) sealing purposes so the spell can't be tampered with

Yes you can, black is another great option too. Keep it as long as you need it, that's the beauty of jar spells, they keep for a long time. If it feels like it's not working so well after a while, give it a shake or pop it on your altar to charge it up.

It will depend on the intention. There are a few hints in this video as to using herbs and plants that correspond based on colour, shape and usage. Same goes with crystals. Google is your friend and slowly, over time, you'll figure out what works and doesn't work for you.

Hello! You'll want to keep the jar sealed until you know the spell/intention has worked OR until you see the wax falling off the jar or contents becoming a bit icky. In that case, recycle any items that you can (gemstones can be cleansed literally and spiritually) and re-used. Bury everything else, as long as it is non-toxic to the environment (be careful of burying salt as it can upset the soil microbiome). Jars can be reused too.

Candles aren't typically used for cleansing in that manner. I recomend smoke cleansing for bottles OR simply cleaning with soap and water and imagining any spiritual residue being removed will do tha trick too.
