After some thought, I think Miner Megs' Evo Fusion is Hasbro's best attempt at the gimmick because the combination of his two weapons _actually make an entirely different one_ which was the intended purpose of Legacy Evolution's line-wide gimmick!

I do like how it delves into the deep lore as to Meg's origins as a member of the working class, a blue collar fella (if you will).. Living under the ruling class, of Autobots.. As well as Ratbats origins leading up to Meg's betrayal..

My favorite part about Miner Megs is that Starscream is the one that gave him his fusion canon. Of all people 😂
Although they are just repaints, they are absolutely amazing figures. So good to see idw transformers made as toys.

Even having read the comics, I hadn't noticed until now that they made Ratbats' head look like his face is inside a cybertronian bats' mouth.
I really do hope this Megs mold has run it's course, this figure feels like a good note to end it on. Really would be great to get a new Megatron mold sometime in the next line, would be crazy if they were able to finally pull off some kind of gun mode on a mainline Megs but I'd be truly shocked if they did that
They can do the same thing they did with Siege Shockwave
I feel like the only way they can manage that is having him turn into some kind of giant futuristic railgun like he did in the Prime Wars series.

If Megatron has to be a tank, I want them to take another stab at the Combiner Wars design as a realistic one. I also badly want an updated version of Energon Megatron though. That was my favorite of the Unicron Trilogy designs.

I only have 1 copy of that Megatron mold, the original, so this probably interests me more than most. Doesn't hurt that IDW Megs is my all time favorite version of the character.
I also love that Ratbat remold of Scourge, it works well for him.
I am waiting for the legacy release of a voyager IDW Stealth bomber Megatron.

if only Ratbat was available on his own. he is fantastic. I don't like (G1) Scourge all that much. but Ratbat wears the mold well. I also like how the side wings on his cape resemble bat wings. like its some foreshadowing as to what he will become.
I didn't really want Miner Megatron, but I've wanted Senator Ratbat ever since I saw the one they made from the old Generations Scourge mold, so they've got me.
This man is commited i thought he was gonna cut the transformation but he commited. He has truly *RISEN*

Personally, I do like the Siege mould of Megs, and I'm always a sucker for pre-war Megs! And I'd say that this is the best iteration of this mould so far!

Pre-ordered both this 2 pack and the Shockwave/Orion pack off Amazon. Shockwave/Orion pack was supposed to arrive today, yet i recieved this 2 pack. Im a bit mixed, especially since there was about a 13 dollar difference in price, but going through the return hassle and the fact i had these two on preorder anyways, AND your review came today, i think ill just open it 😂 Keep it up Emgo, you're my go to for all transformers collector content.

Can't help feeling the addition of a dozer blade to megs might have sold the whole construction vehicle vibe a little better. It coul even have become a Shovel or something in robot mode.

i found a way to put the pink sickle, dismantle the drill, dismantle the sickle tool then, drill is connected to the sickle handle, then drill square handle, then sickle. it will now fit in alt mode. just rotat the arms so it bends inwards now.
I could imagine a fan repaint of Miner Megatron into the "Miner 49er".
As for Ratfa...err I mean Ratbat, he isn't "any" senator. He is THE senator.

As far as Siege Megatrons go, at least this one isn't just another G1-style Megatron with a different variant of grays again. I still think this thing needs treads, tho.
1:44 I mean, it's pretty spot-on generation 1 Megatron mold, so I personally can get behind why Hasbro doesn't see the point in reinventing the wheel just yet. Besides, it's not like we haven't got some new mold for other Megatron designs like "Beast wars" transmetal 2 or "Armada".
Out of curiosity did you originally order the other two pack with Shockwave and Orion Pax but Amazon sent you this one instead? Cause that what happened to me this week. Granted I had the Tyranny two pack pre-ordered but since I have it now no need to hold onto that preorder. Not the only one who's had this happen either.
I just ordered the legacy armada Megatron and legacy skyquake and they will be delivered hopefully the 6th of this month I also can't wait to get my hands on the legacy armada Optimus prime these legacy transformers are getting so awesome I'm so glad there remaking all the early 2000s transformers

Yeah I was told Shockwave and Orion were supposed to be arriving today and I got this pack instead. I’m not returning it because I ordered both so hopefully it balances out but I’m not sure if I should open it yet until I know
So the issue is that Amazon swapped the product codes. If you ordered one you're getting the other, period. If you ordered both, you're good.

Like some of the other commenters I ordered both of these sets, I ordered mine from Amazon Canada. the humble origins 2 pack shipped out and I got a delivery notification and when I opened the box it was the rise of tyranny set instead. I called Amazon Canada customer service and the shipped out a replacement humble origins set which I should get next week and they told me to keep the tyranny set for free and they cancelled my order for this set which was supposed to ship out in August. looks like alot of buyers are going through the same situation. it's a mighty fine set.
dang. Once again, this is a thing where I want it so bad (Miner Megatron especially: I love me some good caution stripes), but I need to consider both money and space to put these.... aw crap.

I really hate the Siege Megatron mold. No forward & back ankle joint which gives him a really awkward posture and make him less stable, no wrist swivel (for a voyager class), 90 degree elbow bend, and an awkward positioning of the balljoint on the head.
I mean, if it were just another not-so-significant character I'd be fine withit. BUT IT'S MEGATRON! They gave so much love to Earthrise Optimus but not to Megatron!
I wish the packed his whip thing instead of the pickax like in the comic. Oh and the comic shows how Megs gets his fusion gun and his spike ball hand
I don't know if it's just my copy, by the joints are really weird. The upper body was SUPER tight, almost to the point I was afraid I was going to break him, and the legs and lower body were floppy to the point of he couldn't stand on his own. I fixed it easily enough, but maybe the Siege Megs mold has seen better days.

I like that some 2 packs showing certain characters in the "prequel" days ha ha. I have the Orion Pax and Vector Sigma. I would like to get my hands on Elita in her 2 pack of prequel days. This 2 pack is cool to point out the slave Megs and a Senator who may have been corrupt. I agree with the overly used mold for Megatron. We don't know what Megs looked like back in the day...his Cybertronian alt mode. They should have done it completely original. It's too bad Ratbat doesn't have a different weapon but his coloration is amazing. I always go full bloosh.
I remember that a Third Party company did a triple-changer Miner Megatron that could transform into a jet and into a drill tank.

It's the same character according to the G1 lore I'm familiar with. Ratbat was one of the senator's, along with Shockwave, in the very corrupt ruling council before it fell, and years before the war started. After millennia of fighting diminished Cybertron's resources, Shockwave fostered the advancement of micromaster technology to produce smaller bodies to use less energy. Ratbat was a recipient of this procedure, hence the onset of his cassete mode (for the toyline anyway), and as a leader he focused on resource management rather than the more expensive task of domination.
I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm incorrect, and the wiki itself can offer more information.
@@schmidington You're part correct. Ratbat was a corrupt senator, while Shockwave was a radical. The rest of the senate forced a procedure on Shockwave that mutilated his boy and removed his emotions after they realized they couldn't control him, resulting in the Shockwave we're more familiar with. As for Ratbat, when Megatron overthrew the senate, Soundwave tore out Ratbat's spark and shoved it in the cassette body as a punishment.

Just received mine . . Instead of the orion pax and shockwave I actually ordered.
So I canceled my rise of tyranny and bought another orion pax and shockwave.
You're just going to get another Rise of Tyranny then. Amazon swapped the product codes for the sets. All Orion/Shockwave orders are going to be Megs/Ratbat, and all Megs/Ratbat orders are going to be Orion/Shockwave.

Pretty sick of the Megs mold too, but it looks good here. I certainly don't regret getting it again - but that's it for this mold. Please. Love the shiny black on Ratbat, but I still want the Takara Generations one - that one looks beautiful, and that Scourge mold just seems more Ratbatty with the pointy wings.

Toy and gun laws. If megatron was marketed to adults like masterpiece he can be a gun or stylised it enough to look like toy guns like Classics 2006.
I know about certain restraint on what they can do but a tank but no gun lol makes no since, but could give a better version of him
