Rowan so funny comic genuis, please bring back these days of comedy 😂 🤣
I bet some idiots would come out of the woodwork complaining about being offended...
@@gambar its very funny, we don't lose our sense of humour, theres allways been people that dont get it.
@@markgreet3543 i'm not disputing that... i'm only calling out woke idiots who get offended by comedy
Oh my god....one of the best programs of my teenage years.
Hard to believe this programme is 43 years old now. Interesting that, despite frequently referencing current affairs of the 80s it still manages to be funny and that the concerns of the day are not so dissimilar to our own as we might think. The biggest shift seems to be the huge impact of social media but generally, it's 'Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose'.
Filling a car for a fiver? You can't believe it!
Had this recorded on a VHS, must have watched it a ton as I knew every line
6:18 ... No Death, no gravity and a different shaped gear stick on the mini-metro! Still remember this sketch from back in the day. So many lines from the shows going through my head now. One of the best comedy shows ever. Cheers.
John McEnroe sketch- awesome! 😂
I used to hate crackly VHS. I love it now.
Rowans MP reminds me so much of Jacob Reese Mogg.
15:37 Griff Rhys-Jones was incredible in the John McEnroe sketch.
What a laugh down memory lane comedy was great back then
Recognised the Betamax recording immediately! There's exactly the same Betamax recording of this show somewhere at my mum's!
God I miss the 80s.
Brilliant even today 👍🏆🇬🇧
I have not had a good laugh in years until I saw this again🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Bloody hillarious!
When petrol wasn't £5 million pounds per drop!
That wilder beast joke was the best
This program is gold! I loled all the way through
Omg! I caught myself reaching over to slap the side of the computer when I saw the static!!!! 🤣
Slapping my smartphone isn't fixing the reception...😐
2:17 I think the greatest ever NTON sketch and possibly the greatest comedy sketch ever!
Richard Clarke Totally agree - it’s brilliant! All their debate sketches are awesome.
They should have dug a hole in the garden and put a wooden door on top of it. The „disturbances“ (hopping picture) made it even more real. Unemployed wildebeests…😂 I would have wanted to see more of Zack.
In the Question Time sketch Mel got the now forgotten Frances Morrell perfectly. Equally perfectly done were the useless Lord Carrington, and also Clive Jenkins.
6:18 I was just talking to work colleagues about this last week. Rowan was so good in this sketch.
Pamela...such a beautiful girl.
43 years later and politics have done nothing to tackle anything from 43 years ago..
All the crazy stuff, will b back In Short while.. 🤣🤣🤣
I remember when this show was new! I loved the 70’s!
@@noeldc "That would still make it the 80s" LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Even the comments section is cracking me up ((I was in tears))
80s... 70s... Close enough 🤷😂
I wasn't even born til '90 and I miss BOTH! Lol 😝🤹📺
...I miss BCE 🤺🗡🕯
🏞🌱🥔🥕🐰🐴🌾
@ROR. I was like that and then I realised it was always like that in the 80s. Haha. I watched Not the nine o'clock news many years ago.
Oh dear, the old days of dodgy vertical and horizontal hold knobs
Thanks for sharing!
I never thought I would think of Rowan Atkinson as "hot", but green is really his color for showing his facial features.
Ahead of it's time.
This was a damn funny show!
I used to think this was "hilarious..." still really clever at times!
The 'alien' sketch, and Question time also quite good.
And "Bob..." and next day you'd all be calling each other 'Bob' the school playground?
Sunday nights, before school
Good music
I remember I different version of alien sketch, he says Duracell batteries, and licon or the one who asks to many question on earth he is known as micheal parkinson
When comedy was amazing
What is an American kitchen without an arbitrary collection of sports pennants?
Those that are too young may not understand the McEnroe sketch.
Can you imagine the fun these would have had with Brexit and Covid? And as for Boris...
Fuck I was too young to appreciate their humour back in 90s but now I do,fucking bunch of very witfull cunts
6:14 - It was amazing to see they already knew the issues with translation computers back in the 1980s. Although I've seen the same trouble with Autocorrect.
Not Rudi Carrell's Tagesschau 😇
Today the Z on the "alien's suit" gives me the creeps
Rowan Atkinson as the Alien was great - but when he spoke about the end of our civilization I couldn't help noticing the Z on his costume which reminded me of the Z on Putin's tanks.
This was a strange day to land on this video. Russian nuclear war - it goes to show how long this has been a potential issue and it's heartbreaking.
Well that explains John McEnroe, parents lying to wind him up all the time.
hmm, was the Geoff Capes bit taken from a meet at Gateshead? Trying to think of where else was open like that that did the British Meat games
There is someone here from Michelin... Over there... :D Lol
When I saw that originally I didn't know about the restaurant marking system. It makes more sense now.
You CANNOT be serious !!!
So clever @ 1:23...l had to do a double-take...
is 16:33 a reference to something else pulling his hair and he taking it out at his parents?
Will someone adjust the tracking?
Crowley be like 26:43
Podule 🤣
The original bad lip reading?
8:14 Isn't this the line he said on Blackader Goes Forth?
Here I believe he says "Die Schreckliche Kartoffelkopf", while in Blackadder he mimics a German soldier saying "Schnell, schnell! Kartoffelkopf!!"
Try running your tape through once or twice before uploading.
😂 14:17 Your average breakfast with any red lefty
Wow, that intro. That are literally telling you cannibals, and look who they focussed on - cyril smith. That was a inside dig. Back then of course, nobody had the faintest idea of what these cultists were doing.
Pamela Stevenson though...
Shuggadaddit.
Alas smith&jones, mr bean
If I was in a TV audience and existence as we know it was about to end in 4 1/2 minutes,
I'd not be as subtle as that woman at 6:02 😋
24:20 They should get a recording of this in a REAL lavatory, and see how people react.
Is kangaroo available in Britain yet?
You can also search "Malaysia meat cartel scandal" here and you will see my answer is BOTH a joke AND a tragedy.
ALSO, kangaroo meat from a quick google is most likely not readily available in the UK, not because of some illegal activity in southeast Asia but possibly because of low demand. It's definitely there but you will have to go directly to the sellers to get it.
@@meilinchan7314 I looked it up and got an education on the scandal. With the house meat scandal some years back in Europe, it makes you wonder what you're actually eating when you eat meat.
I have the cartels been arrested by police or will they go through a kangaroo court?
(I had to go with a joke but I'm no comedian)😄
@@sophitsa79 : Thing is, #horsegate probably began with the creation of the EU single market, but in Malaysia's case, the Meat Cartel racket has been around for decades. And although arrests were made last year, I don't think that the REAL masterminds were caught. Nobody believes that a bunch of lowly paid penpushers were the real culprits.
Need to fix your tracking mate.
Riot
These were the days when freedom of speech was taken for granted, whilst not being abused, and we all saw the funny side of things. So many shows that would now be banned because of some reprobate is offended.
well no SNL or pythons sort mix if the two its ok might look up if on DVD did know that mr ben and black adder did show like this might see othersd
I heard him slurp, about 14.21 czcams.com/video/ScNu_Sbx84Q/video.html
The most striking thing here is that they were allowed to use the word holocaust without anyone saying that they were disrespectful to Jews. This was only 10 years since Holocaust with a capital H started to appear in dictionaries.
Now I get why "Mr. Bean" was so popular...because Rowan Atkinson stopped talking.
THE BRITS ARE SO OUT OF TOUCH
Mediocre at best
The videorecorder this was recorded on proboubly also had a battery from Earth in it.

The humor in this show hasn't lost it's edge, even after 43 years! There are very few shows that can claim the same.
