With UK student loans, you only pay back when you start earning a certain amount. It also gets written off after a certain amount of years - I believe student debt in America never gets written off.

It should've mentioned that our student debt is different to America's. You only pay back a percentage of what you earn over a threshold (£25k), and if you haven't paid it all off after 30 years the debt is wiped.

There’s a difference between being overweight and being morbidly obese. As a Scotsman who has been to the USA several times I have never seen anyone in the UK the size of so many of the people I saw in America. And I’ve never seen anyone in the UK using a motor cart simply because they’re so fat. You see it everywhere in the US.

34.4 hours a week looks very similar to 32.25 hours a week over the period of a week but over a year that's 112 hours difference which is more than 3 working weeks.

I was working in the wine industry so many hours that literally just 1.5 days a week were standard the rest were double or triple overtime hours so my paychecks were massive i was doing something like 60-80 hours a week. This was during peak harvest with 7 or 8 am to 9-10 pm days. My paychecks were like 120$ a hour lol

    A stone isn't "about 12 to 14 pounds" it's exactly 14 pounds!
It's unforgiveable that someone brought up in the UK has no bloody idea what a stone is!

The debt system is the same in the UK is the same. Money lenders want to make a profit. so have a credit hist shows you can borrie and payback. also have credit and paying it all off early , can have a negative impact on your credit score. Credit scores are not just about how you mange without credit, its also an industry tool to identify custmer who they can make a profit from. if you have never had credit, you have not history of paying of credit, which place you in the high risk catergory.

Right. You don't have to have debt. It's good to not have debt. You just need to have had debt in the past. A lot of people make plenty of money to pay it back. That doesn't mean they will.

I would have liked you jumping in to explain the 10 national holidays and whether you get days off for them. Obviously I know this channel is more about educating akasha but it's great for us to learn more about the US as well. Keep up the good content fen

im 6'4 nearly 6'5 and im farrrrrrrr over average in every country lol weight depends on height, at 205 im underweight for my height and my doctor tells me to eat more cause im not in a normal weight range. which is like 230 pounds

with the weight question i would agree that both America and the UK are the same now the differences are the reasons why. For myself I would argue that takeaway culture is bigger in America than over here, but the drinking culture is larger in the UK than America and both obviously have a impact on not just weight but health in general

I work at a fuel station here in England. Brits are overweight. Some of the people coming in I can't believe they haven't overworked and burnt out gravity by now. The US definitely has some fatter people, but England definitely has some very fat people. That's just how it is.

They have definitely made the debt thing a selling point for banks. Notice how they quickly glossed over the medical prices at the end as well.
