I worked on the original video “Candy” set design with Iggy Pop & Kate Pierson from the B-52s! I loved the combination of their voices. I am happy to hear Chrissie & Iggy did it together! Their rapport was genuine ❤ & her voice is still strong today In Glastonbury this weekend, 2023

Their voices are super different but Kate and Chrissie have two of the best voices in rock. The wiki page says he originally offered it to Chrissie but it just didn’t happen. It’s cool to hear this version. Both are great- Iggy’s voice hasn’t wavered. Compliments both. 🤩

Chrissie's voice, in her 70s...MY GOD.
Chrissie Hynde in my humble opinion she's the female "Keith Richards".. Like since the fabulous first álbum, was a teen.. Number one in the great radio rock program that time in 79...Rock in Stock...Almost New Wave Bands, and Dire straits, punk, all that stuff.. Lucky to see them in late 90's..! Iggy..? First time saw him in 1981...Well, a rock circus show during 50 minutes...A black eye, Climbing the PA, Roadies with stair to pick him, jumping everywhere and smash the drums, they fight, etc.....! In 93 saw again and was a excelent and pro show.. Candy was the hit that time.. 👍
I played the HELL out of the Pretenders first album when I finally got it in '82.She's right there with the Wilson sisters and Pat Benatar as my favorite.

I saw The Pretenders several times, one being the the 1987 edition of the Rock Werchter Festival. They played after Iggy Pop. After playing their first song, Chrissie Hynde said "Allow me to kiss the stage Iggy Pop danced on." and she did.
I'm so fan of that woman and her work. Next week in Paris. I'll be there, 'course.

Saw both these bands together in Chicago in 86. Iggy's opening set was the best 40 minute performance I've ever seen. Period. F**king explosive!!

Sometime about 1987 The Pretenders were playing in Memphis and I badly wanted to go, but I had to work at a club that night bartending. Albert King was playing there. Later that night a guy came up to the bar and ordered a plain orange juice, but I never looked at him because at that moment Chrissie Hynde walked in the club. "Look, it's Chrissie Hynde!" "yep" he said. "...and Martin Chambers. Oh man!" Guy puts his money down and walks off when I notice it was Iggy Pop. Man, I felt like I had so disrespected him. They all had a good time and gave Albert King some respect, for sure.
