Museum Gouda

Museum Gouda is echt een fantastisch museum. Het gebouw alleen al is bijzonder. Geen recht toe recht aan zalen, maar een beetje een wirwar van bijzondere plekken, waar de kunst en de historie te zien en opgeslagen zijn. Vooral de keramiek op een soort zolder is fantastisch. Ik ben op zich niet zo’n echte keramiek fan, maar wat hier is uitgestald is werkelijk oogstrelend!
En dan de religieuze kunst in een soort kerkzaal is ook de moeite waard om te bekijken. De tentoonstelling waarvoor wij specifiek kwamen (de Koninklijke Kunst) was op zich wel aardig, maar viel een beetje tegen, gelet op de verwachting die we er van hadden. Het Museumcafé was daarentegen top. Goede koffie en goede bediening. Al met al een zeer aanbevelenswaardig bezoek.
Natuurlijk waren we eerder in Gouda geweest en heb ik daar een filmpje van gepubliceerd, maar ik kon het toch niet laten om enkele bijzondere plekken en gebouwen in beeld te brengen.

Museum Gouda is a truly fantastic museum. The building alone is special. Not straight forward rooms, but a bit of a maze of special places where art and history can be seen and stored. The ceramics in a kind of attic are especially fantastic. I'm not really a ceramic fan, but what's on display here is really eye-catching! And then the religious art in a kind of church hall is also worth seeing. The exhibition we came specifically for (the Royal Art) was nice in itself, but was a bit disappointing, given the expectations we had of it. The Museum Café, on the other hand, was great. Good coffee and good service. All in all a highly recommended visit. Of course we had been to Gouda before and I published a video of it, but I couldn't resist showing some special places and buildings.
