@@TheLocalLt Well, there *are* stairs, they're just behind emergency doors. I have a hunch that those "B3" "B1" stops on the elevator go to landings that can be reached with a fireman's key. Older deep stations sometimes do keep their stairs (like Forest Hill in SF) but nobody uses them unless they're just exploring or want a workout.
