  • "Amhrán na bhFiann" (Irish pronunciation: [ˈəuɾˠaːn̪ˠ n̪ˠə ˈvʲiːən̪ˠ]), called "The Soldier's Song" in English, is Ireland's national anthem. The music was composed by Peadar Kearney and Patrick Heeney, the original English lyrics by Kearney, and the Irish-language translation, now usually heard, by Liam Ó Rinn. The song has three verses, but only the choral refrain is used as the national anthem.

    I like how none of the languages in the British Isles have consistent writing
    Indict = Indite
    Faghbhail(?!) = Fail
    Ysbyty = Esbety

    To a non-speaker it sounds like a bizarre mix of German and Chinese.

    ирландский язык звучит. Жаль, что сами ирландцы почти поголовно только на английском говорят.
