Haha! This is great!! You guys are always welcome at our pad if you’re ever in the Boston area!! This video was great fun!! KISS Crazy Nights!! Hysterical!!! If I was at your place, obviously the first record we’d break out would be the Lemon Pipers! Have a good one Robert!! Cheers, Jon
Hey, it’s Crystal from As It Should Be! Thank you for the fab shout-out Robert! I’m cracking up imagining debating you about Dr. Herpes and the Itchy Crotch!😂
This is absolutely amazing! Brilliant idea but also brilliantly executed. Clearly you put a ton of work into this. I know for the AISB set there aren’t any moments in the videos when the set is empty, so you had to do some serious work to comp together a background image minus any of us. You need to hear Crazy Nights. "Bang Bang You” alone is worth the price of admission. Much like if you were in PsycheDerek’s place, if I were in the World Famous Robert Fithen Studios I would want to hear some of the great psych records you have. But hey, if you’re ever in NYC you are very much invited to come by and make a Dr Hook video with us!
9:40 I actually paused the video and looked for my cat, wondering how she got in this room. I couldn't find her and then resumed the video only to discover that it was yours. You owe me two minutes of my life! Fun video. Well done.
Oh man, that was great! Honestly, we hope you don't get too many nasty comments. You are wonderful with all the knowledge you share. We love your longer videos. Kitty was hilarious at the end. Thank you Kingston Ontario Canada If we could hang out at your place we'd like to listen too Rolling Stones.❤❤❤
Love what you did right here! I don't use the word "genius" very often but this video comes close. If I hung out with Mr. Fithin, I would alter my mind and enjoy the ride you chose to choose. 😂 "I would put my feet up on his couch, if he has one of those". Dude, this is killing me 😅. Once again, pretty damn genius. Welcome to the ultimate thread! Cheers Fithin! (I may ask to hear STP 5 at your place)
Nice one Robert. Yeah those 12” singles certainly build up your steps count! Loving the fact you chose that Bananarama, ‘Cruel Summer’ is an absolute favourite, in fact ive shown it a few times. It’s actually becoming quite desirable on the 12”. Great video, enjoyed that!
Hi Robert, love your channel, you've always got a fresh or intriguing angle. With this in mind...I've got a suggested topic-weird anomalies in record collections. Say, people who have a lot of Paul McCartney/Wings, but no Beatles LPs whatsoever. All Paul Simon's solo stuff, but no Simon and Garfunkel. Beefheart but no Zappa. Van Dyke Parks but no Beach Boys. Johnny Rebel mixed with the Reggae LPs. You get the picture. Things that just don't add up. Anyway, looking forward to your next vid.
Some of my friends used to have annual Beatle parties where the first order of business was to listen to all the Beatle albums in order. Then it was usually on to at least some of their solo work. Once Electronic Sound was played at the wrong speed and it took awhile for people to notice. Hey, I'd come over to visit your cat!
Great video Robert, I laughed out loud on several occasions. I've actually moved house now so you'll definitely never get to hang out in that room of mine you showed, unless for some freaky reason you not only visit England but end up buying my old house. Can't believe you've never heard Crazy Nights. There is another VC'er who has that as his favourite Kiss album, Brian at Shamrock'n Records. I listened to it again quite recently while working my way through the complete 80s catalogue again (after reading the book 'Take It Off' by Greg Prato). It's still pretty icky but I 'd take it over anything Bon Jovi ever did.
Robert, you always make me chuckle! Well if you’d be inclined to invite me over, I’d bring along a six pack of your favorite beer - if that’s what you like - and I’d request some very obscure New Wave 45’s for me.
If I hung out with you it would listening to Stones records, only person I know who put into words what the latter part of Monkey Man feels like and I agree. Also cd's you recommend by any artist as I tend to only have bootleg cds. If you hung out here I would spin some pre-war 78's until you would beg just to hear Pet Sounds!
Hey, I want credit for this because I was the first one going into people’s room, Lmaos, but you did it better, you are the master. I would definitely go to Andrew’s at Parlogram Auctions, need to be among pressings of Beatles recordings. If I were to go to your place, not sure what we’ll listen to, but I bet you’ll introduce me to some good music.
Out of all the guys in the VC there's one guy I'd love to check out and play a lot of his records and that's Randy, Deadwax66. His Psyche and Garage music collection is phenominal...
I have that David Bowie 1974 live album. It is a wonderful album for any serious David Bowie fan. That album was a special Record Store Day release. If I were visiting you, I would want to hear some classic Johnny Cash. Anything beyond Johnny Cash’s live albums would be awesome.
Ahh Dude! If I would go to your place, we would have to listen to "Aja" and maybe "Pet Sounds" Yeah! It would be fun! Whadda ya think? 😁 Someday I plan to make videos too. You can bust my chops then!😁
If you ever do a part II making fun of the French accent I'll consider it as a consecration 😅😅. Seriously, if i'd be in your room i would love to listen to Granicus'self-titled album
Dang it! I can't remember the band name or the song title from one of your old videos that was a rocking instrumental 45 RPM. I looked the song up at the time streaming as I was trying to find it, but that must have been a year and a half or two ago. Was it Rhinoceros? Anyway, you talked about that one and played a small sample (Heck the whole song was only like 2 minutes 30 seconds long according to the label) and I really dug "it" whatever "it" was called. That's what I would want to hear if I came by your place. I would want to hear "it" and you just have to know what I was talking about :-) Either that, or I would have to spend the day looking for the video you made talking about a lot of your 45 RPM 1967- maybe 1972 era records you had 👍 Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
Great stuff, Robert. You've boldly gone where no CZcams Vinyl Community host has gone before. Glad you 'dropped in' at Andrew's from Parlogram-he is THE Beatles vinyl expert, as you said. Many other vinyl community hosts who would have loved an honorable mention, but you covered a lot of territory here!
Can we take my friend, who says "Room Service" is the best KISS song, over to the "Crazy Nights" guy's house. That would be a jaw dropping case study listening to the two of them defend those horrific selections. You're the best Robert. Perhaps you may one day consider a contest for one or two of your loyal followers "Fithen at Night. An Evening of Vinyl, Anecdotes, and Finger Sandwiches". Give it some thought.
1:12 I wore the freaking GROOVES off of that album! I was ashamed to tell anyone growing up (I was 13 when I picked up the album at Kmart (lmao))about how much I loved the Pretenders...because of course all of the kids were metal heads. I was too and into the Stones, Zeppelin, Van Halen, etc...but something about the Pretenders......
I would like to visit you and we could take turns at reading out the liner notes on the inside of the 'Aja' gatefold. We could read a paragraph apiece. This would approximate state-of-the-art pretentiousness. Possibly, Guinness Book of Records pretentiousness.
Your CZcams image, before you click on, looks like it was going to be a spooky theme. It is spooky how much.of some of these collector's living space is taken over by records. The CZcams pic looked spooky. If I was at The Addams Family's house, I'd skip the records (played with a vampire bats fang) as a stylus, and just listen to big Lurch pound out some tunes on the harpsichord. I'd make them an offer on that Swordfish plaque on the wall, with that guys legs sticking out of the Swordfish's mouth. He had striped pants on that day. That might have happened on a Sunday; it looks like he was dressed up in his Sunday Best! The Addams Family lp from the original TV series is worth about $40. The 3 reel Viewmaster set is worth 4 times more. I think it does show that guy in the fish's mouth in 3D. Think how dusty the records would be if The Munsters had a garage sale. "Is that a scratch or part of a spider web?" Aja really runs the gamut. There was a CZcams vinyl guy on here the other day that said how it was the most perfect album ever. Maybe there is such a thing as being too perfect. Steely Dan really did something melodically different with that album. Maybe it was slightly ahead of it's time...like Panasonic used to claim. It sounds like puzzle pieces put together and sophistication taken to the extreme. A strict formula made entirely from scratch. Maybe it was the first time people ever heard a record that ultra clean sounding. That can throw you! Jazz musicians are often so good, that it sounds either over re-hearsed or not rehearsed at all, and so slick you have to wipe the grease off it. I like Jazz. I hear some years at Graceland during the tours around Christmas, they play Elvis's favorite Christmas albums. The Jackson Five is one of them. Elvis missed that whole transformation thing with Michael Jackson. Whatever happened to Tito? I hear he liked Aja.
I know what you mean about most jazz i feel like that about 80 percent prog rock any friends i had back in the day were stoners drinkers or men 90 percent id like to hang out lister to phyc rock im a 70s gal my self i love dr hook they were only sweaty in the early 70s hot lights outdoors no ac back then probably playing for hours they always talk about later 70s cleaned it up
Nothing more joyous than a VC channel selflessly celebrating other VC channels. Thank you.

Every vinyl youtuber that I know was described by Robert with hilarious accuracy. That "Aja" joke caught me off guard.
Was your Pet making Sounds?
Yes! He made sure to get that in the video just for the reference.

I used to have a reel to reel tape of the Rolling Stones - Through The Past Darkly Big Hits Vol 2 and it did sound amazing in that medium.

Fun video. Well done.
Pet Sounds again, ruins everything. lol
OMG, I can't believe it took me so long to see this. Sometimes, the CZcams algorithm doesn't show me the things I need to see! Awesome video!
Thanks!! Yes, CZcams's algorithm needs a fix.
I ❤ it, fun and a good way to talk about others in the VC 🤟
THIS WAS GENIUS
I really enjoy your humor on your videos Too many in the Vinyl Community take themselves too seriously!!!!
Nice video and pic. The one liners had me cracking up in the office...... lol 😅 great vid
Love the content - great idea! A bonus would have been a listing of all those mentioned. (the few I was unfamiliar with)
HAHA funny nice job Robert !! KISS that was a good one !! If I was in your place actually would like to see all the radio promo items you have :)
Robert, I'd want to hear some of your cheesiest Elvis movie soundtracks, with commentary by your cat. Excellent video!
