  • The final flight of my beautiful fox before it was lost to a total signal failure. The model had dual batteries, freshly charged and FR Sky FAAST clone RX. Make your own conclusions to the fault. My advice is never use clone RXes with futaba!

Frysky in my mind is a second rate receiver. I will only use Futaba, JR, spectrum, or hitec receivers. I will not risk my investment to some fly-by-night receiver.

How have you come to that conclusion? The Fr Sky kit is pretty good, not like it's cheap like a lot of Chinese stuff

Never use clone / aftermarket receivers ever. The few bucks saved have nothing on the cost of the aircraft. But sad end to a lovely glider.

My advice would be to use decent receivers in the first place. Why use some cheap crap in a glider like that.

That was a beautiful model sorry about the loss. I stopped using frsky after a couple of them slowly went bad; i think a component slowly degraded. Only lost a nano talon, still stings though. Emailed frsky, no response. Done with them.

Same here, never use them again, on anything that has a value of over $50

Why would you cheap out on the rx ?. I wouldnt put a clone rx in a foam park flyer.

Yeah my bad. The frsky clones are supposed to be reliable. They aren't cheap (30 pounds). I was using a futaba but that go seconded into my swift a few months ago.

Thankfully, nowadays with LORA modulated systems like ELRS, we don't have to worry about this.

I have had very good luck wit FrSky receivers in the US.

I think it varies with the Tx you use. 12fg, 8fg good. 14sg bad. I only use the clone rxes now with my old 8fg.

Shame. I lost my 2.8m Azart V due to total signal loss. czcams.com/video/S4lKqou3UPU/video.html In this case I was flying Spektrum with my Gen 1 DX8. Two other of my models lost contact but I'd stupidly put that down to faulty rx's. In the end Horizon replaced the antenna and RF module and it's been fine since

Same here, still use Spektrum for some foam planes but switched tot Futaba many years ago for the bigger/heavy planes. Not a single problem since (only a bad remote battery that i replaced)
