Its getting better and better and better. To be the best vehicle simulator in the world, it only needs dirt on vehicles support and a realistic rainy weather effect with animated wipers system.
MrGTAmodsgerman yes that and more sounds like blinkers and sirens maybe in 10 years or so computers will be powerful enough to enable many ai drivers like in GTA for example
Yea. I installed the big sound mod a few days ago. It makes the game so much more fun and realisitc. I really love the gravel sound on that mod.

Dont forget realistic "leave a stripe at middle of window" effect after a wear.. Plus Bosch™ choice of wipers which does make that annoying whining sound too...

BeamNG Drive: Get chased down miles of road by cops while narrowly avoiding obstacles and using the terrain to your advantage! Even when you do crash, it looks amazing!

Multiplayer won't happen... ever. Have you ever thought how powerful would a computer have to be just to run a 2 person lobby with the complexity of these physics? Everyone that keeps asking for MP has absolutely no fucking idea how impossible it is for this game.
I am well aware of the complexity of the physics engine asshole.. Nothing's impossible, certainly not multiplayer in a little physics based driving game.. They could pick a user to be the authoritative physics or find a way to manage divergence among users, or perhaps something else entirely. In any case, it's not impossible, there are many other games with complex real time physics and multplayer. The only difference is rigid vs soft-body...

Several areas in that passage that show hope and potential. Been done before (though poorly), "still a possibility" etc.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not holding my breath. But eh, if they pulled it off, it'd be cool.
End of the day, everything was "impossible" until it was done. Simple as that.... Yes, I understand that there will always be critics, some of them hateful and rude. But it is the constructive criticism which is useful. Simply saying "Oh it's impossible" is narrow minded and, yes, very much defeatist.

Realistically speaking though, yes everything was impossible until complete, though with the current situation regarding funds, staff, and development situation, it realistically would be near impossible to roll out multiplayer at the current moment. That’s what I think the other fella was getting at. Now, it would be defeatist/pessimistic to say that’s it’s absolutely impossible forever, which is simply untrue as technology is rapidly advancing; you never really know what’s next in the tech world.
The way I see it, it’s still very much possible, at least in the far future. I too am not holding my breath (regardless, while not perfect, the core game is absolutely amazing) on it, but once the game’s released and complete, I think there’s a possibility. You never know what could come around in that time in terms of tech, game development, and the BeamNG engine. But as is, with limited resources and the fact that the technology needed is not quite there yet, well.. Time this, time that, same thing I said earlier.
Boy, if I had cash to throw around though, I’d sure as hell be making donations to the devs. From Rigs of Rods over a decade ago to BeamNG starting around 4 years ago, I envy the dev’s work and dedication on producing a realistic and unique car game that scratches my petrolhead itch.
Not too difficult. If a pc can easily run the game with 2 vehicles, why can't it have multiplayer? One simple way for multiplayer would be for there to be 2 cameras for 2 vehicles (go to world editor and you see the camera placement symbol) Then some sort of way to split the screen in 2 (split screen) and have 1 person run the game entirely on their pc. If a friend wants to join, they get the game streamed to their game and it would run pretty smoothly. (with a little input lag from the second user)

I love the progress of this game! I would like to recommend more fast cars though and AI traffic. I know it is hard to code so thanks so much for updating the game!
hamfacealtTV ai traffic would be incredibly cool but technically pretty much impossible with current standart of hardware
Well you can always spawn in a couple of cars near you for ai traffic it's not as fun but still and option
they could accomplish ai traffic by making non-softbody cars
Jackalope Animations or with symplifized damage system for traffic with les or non interior details like in Alarm für cobra 11 crash time
For certain maps AI can maintain lanes and also they have safety functions.

Played on the map today. The amount of effort in the details on this map is incredible. You guys are by far the best developers if come across. So many years after the game launched and you guys are still putting out great beefy updates. Its definitely quality over quantity. Every updated im impressed.
You’ve somehow made the city look alive and busy while having no more than three cars in shot at a time. Nicely done. Can’t wait to drive my pigeon around this

Mine's hit or miss, sometimes I load it up and go to the far end of the map and get 25fps, and other times I get 3-4fps. Have to drop $600 in upgrades to actually play this map.

they had online multiplayer in rigs of rods (an older pre version of this game) cars didnt interact but it was still fun. i hope they do that
To be honest, you can spawn multiple cars in the game without it going very laggy - and when you put AI to control a car it looks like it sends key/joystick data to the car instead of doing random hacky workarounds - just direct data from one joystick/keyboard to one car, and another joystick to another car, and that part is done.
Although rendering upper and lower parts of the screen separate and from 2 viewpoints sounds like something a bit hard to do though - I guess you can just use that new camera mode that follows 2 cars instead.
we need some motorcycles I know it will be hard but you have to try devs the cars improved over time maby motorcycles too . and awesome job with the new update

There are already motorcycle mods. The problem with them is not that they look weird without a rider, it's that the rider is a core part of a motorcycle, with the weight distribution and balance (and thus handling) being heavily influenced by the rider, his position and stance. Simulating a motorcycle without a rider makes no sense at all.
Hmm, there is a mod to add a driver. But they can add some frame drops. Idk if they work for motorcycles though.
The Ibishu Pigeon is a motorcycle by technicality.

I think the bridge is meant to represent the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge as it has cris-cross beams on the bridge towers and the double decker architecture plus the the official wiki mentions the city area being like SF and the map geographically being like Oakland(not a coincidence!)

The map looks very nice, but I can't help but be a bit disappointed. It feels like the map was just designed to make a snazzy trailer, and is MUCH smaller than it leads you to believe.
%70 of the map consists of that race park (download a plane mod and fly over the map, and you'll see what I mean), and you can only explore a few blocks of the main city core before running into those irritating red barricades (those were used as a crutch WAY too much). It has so many cool details and features, but I really wish the city core was fleshed out a bit, and maybe have that bridge open to play with as well.
Hopefully the map will be updated in the future...
KrazeeCain you dont need a plane, with shift+c you put the free look camera, you can move with wasd and more faster with shift

Same. The map indeed looks like new but I guess the red barricades blocking one end of the highway and some streets in the upper city and, of course, the incomplete Platin Gate Bridge, with its turnaround tunnel still remind us of it still being updated, although it got a recent improvement update!

The city bridge is cool because if you go across it it goes into a loop but you can also access more of the game by using the node grabber and throwing your vehicle where there are normally be blockages or stuff and one time I actually did that and went outside of the map which is pretty cool and there's a ton of Easter eggs and cool stuff that you can do

I do have two requests,
- Im thinking sidewalk-edges should be slightly curved, atm its a hard edge that imo way to easily breaks tires, maybe if they had slight curves to them tires wouldnt break so easily.
- I know it may be less fun for some ppl, but realistically i dont really see a car do a barrelroll because it slides into the curb, in real life the wheels would bend/break off before that
