Fun fact: In Germany, where the Weck jars come from (named after Johann Weck) and where they've been popular since, the name even became a verb! Instead of the regular verb for canning, "einmachen", a lot of people say "einwecken". I think that's neat.
They look great in your pantry, Kay.

I love how it looks! I love how the Weck Jars make it seem a little more cozy/homey (that is a weird way to describe a pantry but I don’t know how else to describe it lol) with the wood and glass. I also like the idea of you writing in cursive with a white pen directly onto the glass opposed to you using the Cricut. I think it adds to the look. Definitely agree with Midlife Mom.

A friend of mine purchased one and it’s been sitting there for over a year. She writes. But she should just sell it. I have a glass jar obsession and I have dozens of these jars in various sizes. The thing about the different Weck lid accessories is the bamboo lids dont really stay on very well. If you want something air tight, its better to use the glass lids with the rubber seals or get the white plastic lids that are like coffee can lids.
As far as labels on the glass jars, I use oil pens. They hold up really well and come right off with a magic eraser.

I recently found a set of two yellow 🟡 glass jars from Joann's on sale which I am using for my tea and coffee area. And repurposed the purple 🟣 tubaware containers for my pantry area. I am having one issue with the pop lids which is if the lids pop apart and are way too difficult to put back together. Wish the OXO company would allow us to exchange for new lids when they come apart over time. I guess it happens if your too rough with the lids as well so they are a little sensitive.

I would love to change and transition to glass jars in my pantry ( currently using xo canisters) but im afraid between my clumsy husband and my son they break everything 😬
You pantry looks neat and organized. Btw are they expensive?

Expensive? Maybe. They were kinda less expensive than dedicated glass pantry jars (minus the lids) but more expensive than ball jars. If I need to use these for pickling or whatever I can since I still have the glass lids and seals.

Are the white shelves where you displayed your new Weck jars an elfa profuct? If so, which one? Not familiar w/elfa that has a front edge lip on it. Thanks.

They are Elfa utility shelves. They can be installed lip up or lip down pretty neat!

The lip up is nice if you are in an earthquake area, or have cats.

@@WildflowersCreations that just reminded me of that random time 9 years ago when we felt that earthquake in VA in Boston very subtly and weirdly. So freaky!

Do you buy directly from Weck. I am in Canada and the price of the Weck jars from Amazon are crazy expensive! Like, $40 + dollars each depending on size.

I really love my Weck jars and was going to buy their juice jar 3-pack, and discovered their glass contains lead. Has anyone else heard about this? I don't want to be concerned about safety. 😟

I'm surprised by the fact that you are using the wood lids with food. Weck diesn't recommend them with for that use.
