James also discusses the backlash from his highly-publicized divorce from Sandra Bullock, a possible “Monster Garage” comeback and his new business, manufacturing custom firearms. I worked with Jesse James on one episode of his Monster Garage show for his finale shoot where he blew up the car. He was an absolute arrogant jerk. Left the entire crew waiting around a lot day long…he didn’t show up for hours and hours, finally as the sun was setting and we were all about to lose our daylight he shows…no apologies, nothing. There’s nothing worse than being forced to work with people like this.

I find it very interesting that you used a term (your exact words) of "...being forced to work with people like this." So...your words indicate someone held something to your head to keep you there, and that is a reason for how you feel and now react... Or are you here just to trash someone? Abused children ARE forced to live a certain way, creating severe emotional/mental and often explosive issues. YOU? You were/are an adult. YOU could walk away, walk off set. Children can't. Perhaps when you can step into the shoes of an abused child, whatever that abuse is, grow up with self worth issues, replay vile diatribe in your head, forcing the psyche of a child to bend, and then break, being set up as a target for further abuse from outsiders...so much so, that you have to live a life of trying to fit in and most of it by fighting against the violence beset upon you...MAYBE....you can give a WEE bit of grace. Am I saying these learned traits are okay? Of course not. But this 'jerk' obviously has issues created and conditioned by his surroundings.

I totally believe you. He came across as a complete jerk when the show aired. He was at the height of his popularity. Partying. Fancy shows. Speaking events. Etc. He was very into himself. He had the name and all that stuff. When he got that tattoo of Pay Up Sucker... I cringed before i knew what cringe was.
After not seeing him for years and years after, this is the first time I have watched something about him. Like everyone else, I sided with Sandra and all the hollywood stuff. I mean, he did fuck up. Bad. Very bad. Sandra is a sweetheart.
He didn't grow up well. He was the center of attention for a very long long time. Then the world came crashing down. Just as soon as he was loved, he was hated. So much so that the impression given for years was that he was a Nazi lover and just a vile person. But watching this... He's changed. Massively. And I'm very sure you have too.
If I were you, Id maybe reach out. Most people change when huge lessons are taught. He doesn't have the fire in his eyes he had then. I see a guy still struggling to find the words to express how he feels.
I'm actually proud of him. I thought the worst for so long only to find out life taught him how to be real.

Jesse's early 2000's Discovery shows inspired me deeply. I have three kids who are welders, I have tools that I saw on Monster Garage. I saw my first plasma cutter on Monster Garage ... and now I have my own, and we have a home-based fabrication business. I often reflect on Monster Garage and how the fire to create and build was stoked by that show. Thanks, Jesse!

Why I am so obsessed with being a mechanic and working on things.building things, USING YOUR HANDS. Like I have a burning desire to build and growing up watching monster garage, pimp my ride, it wasn’t the show or the flashiness or money, it was the creativity and the mechanics, painters, welders, all the diversity and coming together. If you watch from the 1:06 mark he completely takes responsibility for everything and says that it was all his fault that he caused this whole tornado and drove himself to rehab. Think of how many of us have done terrible stupid things in our youths or all the youths that grow up in bad neighborhoods that do really bad. Things because of the bad association they're around he was no different. "Bad association spoils useful habits" 1 Cor.15:33. I'm not saying the guy doesn't obviously need some serious adjustments. But it's hard to judge someone if you haven't walked in their shoes and grown up like them and he became so big so famous, wealthy in such a short period of time that it definitely can go to your head and cause narcissism. Which can be hard to get away from and stay humble. Pride is before a crash says the proverb and this definitely was true in his case as it is for all of us.

I happened to visit his shop in Long Beach (west Side Choppers) the day they finished rapping up Shaq’s Bike. I talked my ex to take me there bc I loved his show and Harley’s. I had no idea he would be there. The store only had a few customers and I still remember so clearly a door opening from above and seeing him come down the stairs. He actually walked straight up to us and asked if we had any questions. I was so nervous that I didn’t know what to ask. We were just looking and loved the show so we wanted to visit (or really ‘I’ wanted to visit).
Anyway, it was a pleasure. He’s not a stuck up guy and very down to earth. I appreciate people like that. I wish I would have bought a t shirt and asked him to autograph. Hopefully I’ll make to his new store and get get one.
Wishing him Good luck in all he does.

As a man who's always worked with his hands in metals, and wood I have always admired Jesse James. I enjoyed watching him work. He's the real deal. Amazing talent. My hat has always been off to him and I consider him to be head and shoulders above the other bike builders.
Him longing for the simple life when he had everything that the fame gave him reminds me a bit if Guy Martin who's been an exceptional racer no matter what he's driving, got fame, TV shows, etc. but still working as a mechanic on big trucks, being a mechanic is his passion and he kept doing that.
