  • Filmed on a beautiful Thursday morning, this driving video captures the city of Barcelona in its beautiful and surprisingly quiet ambience. Barcelona vibrance does not reveal itself until you get closer to Port Vell. Here, the vibe is more upbeat with lots of tourists.
Leading up to the Port Vell vicinity, this video captures the attractive and historic Passeig d’Isabel II, a street named after Queen Isabella II of Spain, who reigned between 1833 and 1868. Queen Isabella II is credited with Spain’s early infrastructure projects and urban developments.
This video also captures Barcelona’s palm-tree-lined and picturesque boulevard, Passeig de Colom, named after Christopher Columbus. This boulevard leads directly to Christopher Columbus Monument located in the vicinity of Port Vell. The tour buses that lined a portion of the boulevard at the time of our visit, demonstrates Passeig de Colom’s attraction to tourists.
Some subtleties about Barcelona are worth mentioning - such as the interplay between pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, skateboarders, and vehicular traffic. This is so well designed and commendable. Also, still on the topic, traffic priority is given to buses and taxis via dedicated lanes, and this is evident on Barcelona streets. If you pay close attention, you will catch these subtleties in this video.
Overall, we were impressed with Barcelona… hope you will too!!!
