I hated skiing too after a horrible first experience, but then I tried again with an instructor, and actually learnt to absolutely love it.
You are completely right that learning with an instructor would be easier. Then you would build the confidence, and could really enjoy it, and even find it peaceful ❤🎉🎉

I absolutely hate skiing! I only went twice, and that was enough for me. My husband (fiancée at the time) was used to black diamonds, and I did the easy slopes. The 2nd time I went was a month before our wedding, and after an hour of skiing, my knee started hurting. I was afraid I would fall and break my leg and be in a cast in my wedding dress, so I decided to bail, halfway down a trail, and flagged down one of the ski patrol guys. I told him my knee hurt and he took me down the mountain on his snow mobile. It was a blast and was the best part of my skiing that day. I have never gone skiing since (which was a long time ago because we have been married almost 27 years now, lol! )🤣🤣

This was me with one of my exes with his family on a ski trip some time ago. I mean- everything about being surrounded by snow in a remote location irritated me for a week down to the repetitive bland food at the ski resort. I wanted to cry by Day 3. One day on snow max now. With lessons next time - and we went cross country so we were stuck miles out 😂 definitely not a snow sports girl.

Literally dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️ My dad took me out one time, said the kid hill was overpacked, and put me directly on the biggest hill there. I had never gone skiing before. I dropped my sticks on the way up the lift and just was overall worst experience ever. Many words and many tears on the way down! We both left pissed 🤣🤣🤣 good father daughter quality time lmaoooo
I’m laughing so hard. My best friend who went skiing for the first time recently in the mountains struggled and didn’t like it. She also is super athletic and after trying to ski with her boyfriend who was really good, she said she had finally found her match and that she hates skiing. 🤣
Love your video awesome like always and as someone who has been skiing basically their hole life i can defenitly say it's HARD like if you grow up learning it and get lessons it's not as hard but learning it as an adult without lessons is extremly hard and even if you learn it from child age on it still can take up to like 4 or 5 years until you can actually properly do it. P. S.I would love to see option A

i feel for you. i had been with my partner a month when he asked me to go skiing with him. it was all going ok until he mentions that to get back down we had to go on a bit of the black run. it was all over for me from then on. i froze, i saw this stickman poster saying danger death and i was like ‘You are going to have to to call the helicopter to come and get me off of this mountain’ (i had met his family a handful of times) in the end i had to hold onto his dads waist, put my skis in between his legs and he had to ski me down. i have never been so mortified. we laugh about it now but at the time i wanted to never see them again 😂😂😂😂
I am not a fan of skiing either. I grew up in the mountains in the southwest and still not a fan of it. It’s not for everyone. I’ve been to the Poconos once during the summer. Loved all the waterfalls there. Dingmans Falls and Shohola Falls were my favorite. ❤️

I just had such a similar experience. Didn't take a lesson bc my bf was going to teach me.. didn't have thorough instructions and left the bunny hill too soon. Broke my wrist after 45 minutes of trying to make it down the easiest hill 😅

Yep, it takes years to properly learn how to ski so I rly feel for you!! It’s defo not an activity kind of thing, especially because if you don’t do it right it can be dangerous. I will say, it’s a super hard sport to teach for someone who isn’t a professional because once you learn it, it’s mainly muscle memory. I’ve been skiing my whole life and found it really hard to explain it to my boyfriend on the slopes. To properly learn you need many lessons and I will say, learning it at 29 is not easy at all. Kids have no awareness of danger, aren’t afraid and fall from a waaay lower height. So it’s actually easier for kids to learn. Adults are more anxious, aware of what could happen and scared. So, all this to say that the odds were against you from the beginning 😂
I am most definitely a beach girlie but my boyfriend is a big mountain boy.. this was my exact experience of him trying to teach me how to snowboard 😪😂

omg i grew up skiing and took my fiancé (then bf) snowboarding for his first time like year 2 of our relationship. I was so inpatient with him and my dad was like he's going to break up with you bc of how inpatient you were. I feel so bad looking back he fell so many time and never did a lesson. Now he is really great and loves it but after that im like so discouraging to any adult that wants to learn I feel like if you don't learn as a kid its VERY difficult
I don’t ski , tried it and was like no thanks lol. The lifts can be intense. Sorry you went through this. Anxiety attacks are no fun

My family decided to go skiing every year for Christmas for the past three years, I’ve been trying to not be a baby and step out of my comfort zone so that I spend time with my family but after hearing stories of people dying, I literally refuse to go and rather spend my day at the resort enjoying hot chocolate and catching up on shows. 🙃😭 it’s so scaryyyy and you legit fly down the mountain if you aren’t careful.
You have made up my mind never to go skiing! My sister actually broke her wrist the first time she went skiing. I would have been like you and crying my eyes out. They say never have your significant other teach you how to do anything. I remember when I was in my 20’s, my boyfriend at the time, tried to teach me how to drive stick shift. We were arguing the entire time, he made me so mad. He had to have his friend come teach me. His friend had a lot more patience! 😂.

The biggest rule of skiing is to never teach anyone you care about… It’s a traumatic skill to learn
My husband is a great skier. Me myself am not. I’m pretty sure nine times out of ten. You have to start when you’re younger. Like a kid. Because the majority of people won’t be able to just pick it up. Skiing is horrible. Once you fall it’s dang near impossible to get back up

This reminded me of my first and last skiing experience...had an out-of-body level of fear. I think I made it 15% down, went to the side of the hills by the trees, body froze up for about 1 hour, took off the skiis and walked the rest down. 13/10 do not recommend lol
Your partner must ski freestyle then? He wouldn't be able to teach you anything...because of his board.
It's such a dangerous activity, there's no way I'd attempt to ski unless I'd spoken to a qualified ski instructor. My nieces and nephew can ski better than me and they're all under age 9 🤣🤣🤣
I'm sorry for laughing at you crying!!! So funny.....also there's no way you can recommend to anyone about the skiing being awful, it was awful for you alone. So I'm sure you can bring your future children. That would be amazing for your family 👪
