- When in Colonial Williamsburg, a shopping expedition might be in order at one or more of the plenty shops and stores found inside Merchants Square off the Duke of Gloucester Street. If you’re out and about, only taking in a gander or two, while self-limiting your purchasing power, there may be no more interesting season of the year to do some good old-fashioned window shopping here than during that Christmas time of year.
Sarah and I are in Colonial Williamsburg on a fine December evening and are ready to further stir the spirit of Christmas that is increasingly spinning and swirling inside us. And no better place to accomplish this than by wandering about Merchants Square at Colonial Williamsburg and admiring the many illuminated displays of holiday cheer and happiness found here.
Fascinating Christmas characters, delightful decorations, dazzling ornaments, elf-made toys & trinkets, Christmasy set-designs, winter-time merchandise & apparel, and plenty of Colonial Williamsburg branded merchandise….yep, gazing through these Colonial window panes, reveal all of the above.
Have a gleeful stroll around Merchants Square with us to discover the simple joys and jolly scenery that make for the perfect Christmas outing together in Colonial Williamsburg, nestled right along the historic Duke of Gloucester Street.
