They will question both in my opinion 1) they think people won’t go and do research on Yusuke and not like what they did and 2) the prices is horrible to a franchise that fell off after Black Flag
First, I don't have any issue with games having a CGI trailer for the first "teaser" trailer. It's just meant to give people an idea of the story. However, that first teaser should be the ONLY CGI trailer. Everything following should be in game visuals. Now, when it comes to Naoe and Yasuke, I think it was genius to give players both the stealth of a Shinobi and the strength and power of a samurai. Yasuke being based off a real life historical person who really did serve under a Japanese lord didn't stop the morons from coming out trying to justify their anger for having a black lead in their game, pretending the problem was "Yasuke was never a Samurai!", even though on X and Tiktok we've seen dozens of Japanese people defend it saying he was indeed a Samurai in service to Oda Nobunaga, the lord at that period. They have multiple statues of Yasuke in Japan to honor the man. Why would they do that for a mere slave? Cmon, use common sense, people. But I agree, the thing people should be angry with is Ubisoft's pricing methods, taking advantage of gamers as per usual. That should be the true complaint right now. I think someone said we're supposed to get gameplay later this week. That's when I'll decide if the game will be enough to get me back into the Assassin's Creed games or not.
I just wanna say, we'll totally see some gameplay during the Ubisoft Forward showcase next month and that's still several months before release date lol. So we just have to be a little patient, nobody has to pre-order that long ahead
This cannot be said as an absolute. There's nothing saying he was a Samurai, but also nothing that says he wasn't. Bottom line? We really don't know for sure and we probably never will.
I’m not playing this trash!!! I’m so sick of DEI in EVERYTHING!!! I will vote with my wallet & I think many others will to. This game will be one of their worst sellers yet.
Exactly the price and actual history of Ubisoft game quality should be the issue but of course historical accuracy is only needed today , not when ezio used a flipping medieval jet pack or when Altairs wife was a flipping Templar knight of which there is no debate in the crusades there is no way there were female Templar knights but of course our ac historians emerge today on a character that has an argument for being more historically accurate than anything that ever came before
Yasuke was a Kashin, a member of the clan of Kashindan. He was a retainer but retainers at the time of Oda Nobunaga were indeed considered samurais as well. Also being a retainer of Oda's weapons was not a job for anyone and goes to show how much Oda trusted him. This basically means that Yasuka was of a higher stature among most. You even have a descendant of Oda Nobunaga on Twitter amongst many other well educated Japanese people that confirm he was indeed a Samurai. Hope that helps. You have multiple people on the wiki on Yasuke being edited at the time of May 15th to conveniently hide the fact he was a Samurai and fabricate it.
It honestly doesn’t matter. Ubisoft sucks and Assassin’s Creed has been in a downward spiral since Black Flag. No gem is going to change any of the two previous points.
@@kastlewind1759 Oda befriended Yasuke while already yielding a katana for the samurai but Yasuke never participated in a battle before to be a true samurai

If it's going to follow Star Wars Outlaws where you have to download and install it even if you have the physical copy that should be one of the biggest negatives too.
Thing is. We do know a couple things about Yasuke. He came off an Italian slave ship (likely from Mozambique), served as a retainer for Nobunaga Oda (and in the time period that made him a samurai) who was one of the most prolific war lords in history. Stood with Nobunaga when Nobunaga's right hand man betrayed him, then vanished after Nobunaga was killed. We have no clue when or where he was born and when or where we died. We know nothing about him before or after he served Nobunaga. So, for all we know, Ubisoft could accidentally tell the actual story of Yasuke with this game. And I find that hilarious
Yasuke wasnt even a real samurai which the problem. He was allowed to carry weapons but when Nobunaga was killed, Yasuke wasn't even expected to commit sepuku afterwards which was a really important aspect of samurai culture. He couldve been a landless samurai but they didnt have the same expectations of samurai that served a lord.

Ok so Yasuke was a Japanese historical figure but he was never a Samurai. They obviously chose him because he was a black guy. I've seen videos from black people talking cultural appropriation and all kinds of stuff 😆. It would've been cool if they choose Sasuke for the Ninja character him being an actual ninja and a real Samurai like the legendary Samurai warrior Miyamoto Musashi. They could rectify this with some slc characters and giving you a choice who to play as but i doubt they will
So I’m extremely biased on this topic. I’m black, I have dreads, and I love Japanese ninjas and samurai culture, I think Yasuke is really cool. In my opinion they should have saved Yasuke for the DLC or honestly not used him at all. I get why they didn’t, it’s because they wanted to introduce the players to the world with the in game character. Also I’m sure they wanted to differentiate themselves from Ghosts of Tsushima. So I get it. I’m still going to buy and play the game because I’m into ninjas and samurai culture. But I totally understand why other people wouldn’t. Wu-Tang

Not putting my hopes up, but I think they simply botched the reveal/release. Like many seem to be annoyed or disappointed by them portraying Yasuke as a samurai. While I don't know any details, I could totally imagine they could have spun it like this limited knowledge is a cover up by the Assassins or the Templars to actually hide what has happened. It would make sense. It would have allowed them to tell the story their way without offending anyone. Maybe that's even their plan, but they kind of missed that opportunity.

Main characters in every Assassin's Creed game have always been fictional characters based on their country of origin. Any historical figure has always been a side character or supporting character. Now, they have made an exception for this game to have a real person, an African man in a Japanese land setting, as their main character. They claim he was a historical legendary samurai who was only in Japan for 13 months, without any surname or wars and battles to his name. He was only a retainer or helper for Oda Nobunaga because of his unique skin at that time. If you say all AC games are fiction, then why make a real person the main character and change history? Why can't we have both characters be Japanese?

"All the main characters in the Assassin's Creed series have been fictional characters. I think it was probably a minimum of humility towards the history of that country.
However, with the inclusion of a real person named Yasuke as one of the protagonists of this work, controversy arose here and there, with people claiming that Yasuke was a great samurai, or that he wasn't even worth waiting for in the first place. It seems that there are even Wikipedia rewriting battles going on overseas.
I am Japanese. What is happening now feels like history is being tarnished with our bare feet.
I don't know what UBI's intentions were in hiring Yasuke.

It's the same price as any new game. $70

CG Trailers, have you seen Hellblade 2 trailer?

Exactly the price and actual history of Ubisoft game quality should be the issue but of course historical accuracy is only needed today , not when ezio used a flipping medieval jet pack or when Altairs wife was a flipping Templar knight of which there is no debate in the crusades there is no way there were female Templar knights but of course our ac historians emerge today on a character that has an argument for being more historically accurate than anything that ever came before
How do you block someone
For those that need to hear it... Yasuke was not a samurai.
Who cares. Neither was Tom Cruz😂😂

He couldve been a landless samurai but they didnt have the same expectations of samurai that served a lord.
what do you mean vanished? he went back to the jesuits
We don't know if he was a samurai.

Exactly bro.
