I've watched several of your videos and am impressed by your humility towards yourselves and your respect for the local captains and crews. I lived in Nags Head for a spell and dealt with some of them professionally. All good men and I would count you among them. Love your content, stay safe and God bless.

You guys are tops! Honored to be your dock neighbor 😊

The really funny part is the majority of the guys in OBX aren't from OBX. The amount of captains from NJ down there is kind of crazy. I think they get sick of having to run 80 plus miles anytime they want tunas 😂. OBX and NJ fisheries are very similar in most ways except in NJ it shuts down from usually the New Year till March

Funny. I'm one of them. Wish I found OBX decades ago. Moved the boat there from Jersey two years ago and never going back.

@@MadLudwig that seems to be the going rate. Im planning on getting out of here as soon as I can. Those dead of winter stretches are terrible. Now it's figuring where I'll end up. It's either OBX or Palm Beach for me. The thing I'm not a fan of in Palm is the lack of yellowfins, big eyes, and bluefin. But the fact that the stream is so close is such a draw for me. My personal boat is only 17ft and I regularly run 40 to 50 miles out of AC. I just picked up a Hydra Sport 19 CC that I'm repowering this winter that I have every intention on running to the canyon.

@mulletoutdooradventures6286 we ran out of Little Egg and Barnegat Inlet. From AC it's too far to Lindenkohl and other canyon spots for a small open boat. If you get caught out there in a thunderstorm it can get deadly fast. Be careful!

@@MadLudwig believe me I know it all too well. I do my best to plan accordingly and don't squeak trips in if the forecast is not exactly what I need. I'm always with another boat or 2 as well. My pop was a 2x commodore of BHMTC back in the 90s and I lived on LBI for a decade. Worked the decks of too many Beach Haven and BL boats. Started on the Doris Mae doing all night bluefish trips in the early 90s to the Water Main and Pop's Pride

On my pop's boat we were always in tandem with Bad Bouy

I watch a lot of your videos, and I have a question. I have been on a few Charters out of Oregon Inlet and up and down the East Coast, why don't' they troll in or out of the inlets or on the way to where they want to go fishing?

@@charlescoates6661 Good question. A bunch of answers for you. The inlet is much too dangerous to do anything but pay attention and get through it. This especially applies to OI and Hatteras. Then there is the fact that the spread for offshore trolling is quite different in most cases than inshore or nearshore. Another big reason is the time it takes to get to the gulf stream. Most these boats are going around 25kts, which is much too fast for trolling. If they were to slow down, it would add hours to get to the grounds, and that first hour in the morning is the most important.
