The MARMORE FALLS was built by man in 271 BC. by the ancient Romans when they diverted the stagnant Velino river, making it flow into the Nera river.
165 meters high, it is the tallest in EUROPE!!
To access the waterfalls, you need to obtain a ticket either on site or, as we did, ONLINE in order to avoid long and boring queues.
There are 6 paths, but the most interesting and adventurous are 4.
1st PATH is called ANCIENT PASSAGE and you only have the view of the release of the water at certain times of the day. It was built in the mid-18th century and has an incredible natural background. TIRED AND DIFFICULT, we recommend it first.
2ND NINFA RING PATH, very easy, 300 meters long and can be followed in 20 minutes. It leads directly to the heart of the MARMORE WATERFALL. TOP VIEW OF THE 2ND AND 3RD JUMP
3rd THE MEETING OF THE WATERS, easy and you can admire CANYONS carved into the rock by the waters of the NERA river. SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN
4th THE MAJESTY, Accessed from the BYRON car park of medium difficulty. The route is made up of steps that go up towards MONTE PENNAROSSA, reaching 2 panoramic points with the WATERFALL in front.
