I do appreciate the fact you showed me step by step on using my embroidery machine. I don’t have a fancy machine but I love the one I have have. I’m learning and enjoying slowly getting better. Thank you so much.
You're the best. Love your videos. I'm a power tool/technology person too. I'm 65yr old and love technology. When I discovered your channel, I thought I died and went to heaven. My hubby is an Air Force Vet, another connection.
Your pouch idea is cute for your gift and I like the butterfly pattern too. Your square up idea was so smart! Enjoyed catching up with your projects. I love the way you do the projects no matter whom you are doing it for. You realize you use a luminaire primarily for embroidery videos we never get to see you make quilt videos. You have also opened my mind to begin quilting (and I have a hard time sewing a straight line) !
There are lots of ways to do things with quilts. Sometimes I want to do it by hand. Sometimes I want to learn a new skill with my machine. Sometimes the machine makes a big project like Calico Garden more approachable and doable. If folks complain, they should realize they do t have to watch. The world doesn’t revolve around them. There are others out there doing it their way. I’m always astounded that people complain when folks like you put out such high quality, free content. It feels selfish. Anyway, you just keep doing you. Your passion shines through, which is what we all love. ❤️
My embroidery machine and Scan n Cut have become great friends since I "met" u. I appreciate ur lessons. They make sense to me. TY so much. If I'd know we would be together so long, I'd have kept track of our anniversary lol.
Becky Thank You Thank You, I have watched so many of your videos learning all about Scan n Cut and I did buy the software. This weekend I am putting all of what I learned. I am having so much fun. Thank you Becky.
Thank you for all your videos! I missed you while you were on the cruise...I love seeing the quilts you do. i quilt, but have really gotten into in the hoop embroidery projects. You were a life saver during the pandemic and i couldn't go to my quilt store for classes and projects!! I would like to do the scan and cut for applique, but fear i am not computer savvy enough to handle it...maybe some day! I tell all my sewing friends about you and how your videos help. please keep up the good work! You make this hobby fun!❤
Becky you have taught so much. I have an old scan n cut so can’t sent to my computer. But I’ve figured out how but it doesn’t always work to the same size. You have taught me a lot about using my ten needle and the computer. I want to be you when I grow up lol. Thank you.
Becky, either or, is always alright, preferences are all great as long as we allow everyone to do their own thing without guilt. Never apologize for your methods, just know that most of us appreciate all you do for us. Also have been with you from the beginning, love your channel. Keep up the good work, thanks. Keith is just 50 miles from where I live. Green Bananas.
I found you by Designs by JuJu. I am a machine embroiderer. I can't wait for the videos for her designs I just bought the Christmas tree bottom and also the chicken placemat and because I am new to quilting I am following your videos. I wish I could make something with zippers I am so afraid to break a needle, I really want to make a bag. TY so much for all the tutorials.
Smiling widely...I have a combination machine in my machine stash...but have used it rarely for just stitching normal quilts plus other things...she who has the most toys wins. That's you Becky...love your vids
For the zipper you are looking for try online for zipper tape - lots of color choices. You can also get the pull tapes for the tape in different styles. Just be sure tape and pulls are the same size - either #3 or #5. Makes bag making go so much faster.
I so enjoy your chats catching us up on what you're doing! Been watching you for a long time and learn so much. I just wanted to add a thought about the zippers you are looking for. Try By Annie. She has about 48 different colors in a variety of lengths with the ability to buy extra pulls. She has good customer service with quick turn around on orders. Thanks for all you do for all of us!
Becky you do you! I don't understand people who are so closed minded. Variety is what makes the world go round. I learn so much from you! Keep the videos coming.
That's a good idea and something to consider. There's already a 2" blue border around the expanded panel blocks but maybe I can figure something out. Thanks!
I agree, Becky, I don't like sewing long rows together either. I usually sew my blocks together in chunks--I got that idea from Pat Sloan. It helps because I only have one long seam to sew together at the end. I am new to embroidery, have only had Brother PE800 about a month. Now that I'm more familiar with the machine I need to binge watch your channel from beginning to learn as you shared videos. 😀
Hi Becky, I just wanted to reinforce what Lori told you. Every one of us that is fortunate to be able to do this great hobby craft knows that we have to do it just the way we want. If I had not learned from you how to integrate my scan & cut (that's been boxed for years) and use my BES4 software to create/convert svg files into an applique. I would not be able to make the Laundry Basket Elephant quilt from Eydita Sitar's website. I will post a picture when it is done. It is for my great nephew. The elephant stencil was perfect for cutting out the 24 elephants, tails and ears.
Just watched Kimberly Jolly. Someone asked her about making quilts designed by the same people all the time too. She said she basically has a style and sticks to it and that way she can stay true to herself and makes no apology for it. She also reminded us that her choices are personal and that she andKevin started the business with customer service as the priority and feels that they have achieved that too. Staying true to herself. And to be fair, Lori comes out with great stuff. I don’t have an embroidery machine but love your tutorials anyway. Always watch them. Stay true to you.
I love what you do and how you do it. I do not like hand needlework either. Doing applique with my Brother Luminaire after scanning on Scan n Cut and using Embrilliance has been a godsend. You have saved me many hours of researching. I have been hearing many vloggers defend the choices they make lately. Subscribers have the choice to watch whatever youtube channel they want. So, vloggers, "Do you"!!!! Don't worry about the naysayers.
You are so sweet! The DAR is going to miss you! I love how you solved Keith's dilemma! Love the square up tip❤! Thank-you! Love you showing the Aloha door panel!! What a creative use of embroidery!
Go out to the shop in Boerne, Sew It Fabulous for zipper tape. They have a wonderful selection! I collect from everywhere. I found them on a shop hop a few years ago.
You are loved because you show others how to do things in the computer to get the embroidery designs to stitch on fabric. Love you Becky and Keith too.
I would not have learned to use my embroidery machine without your very detailed, beginner-friendly videos. On your recommendation (and because you showed us how to use it!) I purchased Embrilliance and wow, that software has been a godsend! Anyway, well said today - you’re always gracious and your character shines.
I love sewing the binding. It is like sewing the buttons on the finished shirt or dress. Such a feeling of accomplishment! I agree we all have our skills, likes and dislikes. Enjoy the journey!
I truly appreciate your videos. I love all the different content of your videos. I’m like you, I don’t enjoy hand stitching at all so I appreciate your embroidery instructions also. Thank you.
Becky--if you want the nice handbag zippers (#5 coil) try Wawak sewing which has zippers by the yard. I think 25 yards is approximately $20K. You buy the zipper pulls separately. Or you can check out by Annie. She has a vast array of #5 zipper coils zippers. Just a thought.
Love learning different ways to do to the blocks. Thank you for demonstrating using the embroidery and the scan and cut. I definitely have to rewatch all those videos.
I don't have an embroidery machine, but am fascinated by all you do. Continue to do the things you do. There is always going to be a turd knocker under a bush. 😁 Blessings.
I’ve been with you from the beginning also, and I love the fact you are going back to doing JuJu. I have been sewing and embroidering for over 40+ years, and never fail to learn something new every video you make. Keep up the good work. Thank you!
Becky, I have been watching you since I bought my Brother Dream II, 3 years ago. I find your teaching style to be perfect for me. You are a wealth of information, articulate and explain every detail for all skill levels to understand. I appreciate your authenticity and I look forward to your videos, chats, etc. Stay true to yourself. I agree about the Kimberbell saturation and look forward to other designers. I have many Designs by JuJu. They stitch out beautifully. Keep up the good work. Thank you for all you do for the sewing, quilting and embroidery industry.
I love all the content you present Becky; I never get bored tuning into you, Yeh I love JuJu designs can't wait to see. what is next in the pipeline? I am amazed at how much you are able to achieve, thanks for making sewing and embroidery fun.
You are by far my favorite utube personality. I've just started following you since Christmas. I'm a quilter but my sweetie got me a Brother SE630 for Christmas. I didn't even know I wanted one ,but with your direction I'm loving it. You are just so real and entertaining and educational. Looking forward to all your chats.
The Lori Holt zippers come in aqua. You don’t have to buy the multicolor eight pack, you can just buy the aqua‘s. They have the double pulls and they are like the one you were showing. I have been using her zippers, I really like them.
Oh YES Cruise, I didn't get to go this last time because of a health issue that is now resolved. I would love to go next time. Please Please let us know as soon as possible so I can round up the money to go. In fact I think I'll start now just in case! Something to look forward to!
I watch you videos even though I haven't ever attempted a large quilt. Baby quilts and table runners are all I have gotten the nerve to try yet. Embroidery and applique is my favorite things. Even though Lori Holt designs are not my thing I still enjoy your lessons. Please keep up the good work.
Hi, Becky!! I just bought Kimberbell Cuties Vol. 2. I’m excited to start a fun and sophisticated table topper for Mom. I LOVE appliqué, but NOT without an embroidery machine, LOLs!! The regular method with a sewing machine is TORMENT, so my compliments to those who’ve been able to make it look good by have or by sewing machine.
Love your quilt chats! Always look forward to seeing what you are working on and hearing about what's coming up. Don't forget some Bluebonnets in your door hanger for the cruise! Nothing says Texas quite like Bluebonnets. Enjoy your "bachelorette" time!
Becky, just wanted to let you know that I figured out all the steps for two gnome design projects from Joann Hoffman patterns … might send you an email with photo. Still troubled by how to remove overlapping stitches with Simply Appliqué if you ever want to add tips in one of your videos! Love your chats!
I get my zippers from Wawak which is a sewing source mail order store. You would need a size 4.5 or 5 zipper to get those nice big pulls. By Annie has zippers by the yard too.
You do you Becky. I sure appreciate all you do for us. Just for fun, you might check out Amy Bradley Designs. Her designs can be done as embroidery the way you do Lori Holt designs. Thanks again for all you do!
Becky If your content is not pleasing to some, they’re not required to watch your videos/vlogs. That’s the beauty of CZcams it’s in our homes and no one can force us to watch what isn’t valuable or fun to us. I love your channel, just sayin.
Hello...I love that panel..."This is the Day the Lord Has Made"...where can I find it. It is so very pretty and would love to add that to throw for my husband to match a new recliner I just purchased him. Thank you Love your tutorials!
I absolutely LOVE watching you!!! Your style is right up my alley with using all the tools that are available to you! I have physical limitations that require me to use those same tools in order to continue doing what I love to do! Thank you! You do you! If people don't like it then they don't have to watch, and if they watch, well... ;)
You need the creative grids perfect 5 ruler by sew do it Emma. It came in one of my sew sampler boxes. I use it whenever I need to square up a weird size block.
Awesome! I will be at Everything Embroidery Market as well. We are staying in our travel trailer. Maybe I will get to meet you in person. I registered for the Embrillance workshop on Friday. I haven’t decided on which classes I want to take on Saturday & Sunday.
Hi Becky, as I was watching your video about wanting zippers. I just saw an ad from Quilting Twins, out of Florida. The twin that lives in Poland is over for a visit and she just happened to bring loads of zippers. There is a aqua among the colors. Hope this helps.
I checked them out and they didn't have aqua on their site so I ordered the navy and cream. I left them a note to email me if they have other colors. Thank you!
I got a yard of that aqua zipper and pulls she had while I was on the cruise. I looked at it as an option, but it has rainbow colored zipper teeth and that's not really the look I'm going for. Believe me, I checked!
I have a question regarding Scan n Cut & Kimberbell Cutie Feb I think you said increase 1-2 I think you increased yours on embrillance & canvas workplace you increased 1 Did that work for you? I'll have to increase with the SnC as I don't have embrillance Regarding the little hearts
@22 you said it sister! It's too easy for women to slag other women! There is room for everyone. ❤️ Lori has got a glut of the market at the moment ' it seems' but lead with your heart ♥ think for yourself 🥰and God will guide your steps.
Can yo make a smaller project like a table runner instead of a quilt, just something I can afford right now. I am tired of Kimberbell too! That’s all my sewing store does.
My part is sandwiching quilt and bating and backing together, I have to get on floor to spray all together. Hard. On my knees since I am 67 years old. I don’t have big enough table.
My first quilting teacher was in her late 70's or possibly 80's. She would take 2, 6'-banquet tables and butt them up against each other. Then she would lay out her quilt sandwich on it. Then she used giant binder clips (available at amazon or even the Dollar Tree) to attach each edge of the quilt to the table (she used many binder clips about every 6 inches). She would then insert the curved safety pins to hold the sandwich in place until she quilted on her Bernina machine. Depending on the size of the quilt, you may have to do a section at a time and re-position with binder clips. Most of the quilters at the shop where I took the class also use this method. You can even purchase a tool that helps you close up the safety pins very easily since that is the hardest part. She would put all the pins in place without closing them first, and then go back with the tool and close them all. It worked very well. I'm 63 and I know I tried once on the floor and it wasn't good.
I have done this method as well before I got my longarm. It works! When the old office building I was in was moving, they were doing a HUGE purge of old office supplies. I asked the guys on the loading dock who were taking in all the surplus, that if any came in, to hold back any of the old big black binder clips for me for that very purpose. They gave me 100's of them! I only kept what I needed and the rest went to scrap. No space!
Recently watched an older video of you. You were beautiful then but I think you are more beautiful now. I knew you had lost weight but wow you really look younger now! No I’m not trying to butter you up I just love watching you ❤
Becky, I have been one of your followers for along time. Not as advanced as some. But I like to do the sewing, quilting and embroidery, without all of the ad ons. I know that you're into the scan n cut and embrillance but a lot of aren't. I don't mean this as a put down just saying there are a bunch of us that like the regular methods.
No offense taken at all! I like the traditional quilts too which is why I made Plaid Pines and the Praises quilt. Lots of inspiration everywhere! Thank you!
My Joann’s is awful. I boycott them because they are so rude and awful. I am glad your experience is better. I love your videos. Thank you for the excellent content.
I do appreciate the fact you showed me step by step on using my embroidery machine. I don’t have a fancy machine but I love the one I have have. I’m learning and enjoying slowly getting better. Thank you so much.

That's why your vlog and blog is called Power Tools with Thread! Love it!
Your pouch idea is cute for your gift and I like the butterfly pattern too. Your square up idea was so smart! Enjoyed catching up with your projects. Love the butterfly fabric for your pouches!
Purely Gates designs are fantastic!!! I own a LOT of their designs, and they stitch out beautifully with or without the mylar.
My embroidery machine and Scan n Cut have become great friends since I "met" u. I appreciate ur lessons. They make sense to me. TY so much. If I'd know we would be together so long, I'd have kept track of our anniversary lol.
ROFL 🤣
Becky Thank You Thank You, I have watched so many of your videos learning all about Scan n Cut and I did buy the software. This weekend I am putting all of what I learned. I am having so much fun. Thank you Becky.
Thanks to you I learned about the monthly patterns we can order from Villa Rosa. Love them. Now I get the new ones monthly. Blessings!!!

Amen to that comment about Kimberbell and Lori Holt. It's like a cult I never understood. I do love your videos.
Smiling widely...I have a combination machine in my machine stash...but have used it rarely for just stitching normal quilts plus other things...she who has the most toys wins. That's you Becky...love your vids

Zipper by the yard. I get my from By Annies. You can order the zipper pulls in white.

You might consider making a very small dark blue border on the panel block and then use the white border on the blue…
Totally agree! Love to cut and piece but putting rows together is not my thing. Enjoy your channel!
I think ByAnnie's sells an aqua zipper by the yard that might be great for your zipper pouches. Love your videos
Couldn’t agree more.

I am amazed at how much you are able to achieve, thanks for making sewing and embroidery fun.
It looks to me like the zipper pouch has #5 zippers by the yard. You can mix and match the zipper tape to the pulls.

Zipper Valley or By Annie have zippers by the yard and can find all kinds of zip pulls! Lots of colors, love your videos!❤
I use stronger readers when I have to thread a needle

I love all the steps of quilt making. From design to fabric selection piecing quilting(I have a very old hq 16 long arm ) and binding.

Rounded zipper pulls are for handbag zippers. Etsy has lots of zippers just look for handbag zippers. Most will sell multiple of one color for a deal.
You need the creative grids perfect 5 ruler by sew do it Emma. It came in one of my sew sampler boxes. I use it whenever I need to square up a weird size block.
Joannes had different thickness sheets of plastic to make shapes or squares you need. That would be good for making your 2 3/4 square.
Awesome! I will be at Everything Embroidery Market as well. We are staying in our travel trailer. Maybe I will get to meet you in person. I registered for the Embrillance workshop on Friday. I haven’t decided on which classes I want to take on Saturday & Sunday.
Pam Damour zippers
By Annie might have the aqua zippers you are looking to get. She also sells zipper pulls separately and they look like the pulls that you want
Went there and got them! Thank you!
Love your tutorials! If you're considering other digitizer, Kreative kiwi is pretty good for interesting projects, too.
Hi Becky! What pattern will you use for your zippered pouch? Is it all in the hoop?
Hi Becky, as I was watching your video about wanting zippers. I just saw an ad from Quilting Twins, out of Florida. The twin that lives in Poland is over for a visit and she just happened to bring loads of zippers. There is a aqua among the colors. Hope this helps.
I checked them out and they didn't have aqua on their site so I ordered the navy and cream. I left them a note to email me if they have other colors. Thank you!
Zippers-did you ask AmySews if she has aqua zippers with the white pull? She had so much on the cruise
Try zippers by Annie
@22 you said it sister! It's too easy for women to slag other women! There is room for everyone. ❤️ Lori has got a glut of the market at the moment ' it seems' but lead with your heart ♥ think for yourself 🥰and God will guide your steps.
I really dislike layering quilts. I have a sit down longarm.
Can yo make a smaller project like a table runner instead of a quilt, just something I can
afford right now. I am tired of Kimberbell too! That’s all my sewing store does.
You can make any quilt into a table runner. Just make some of the blocks and lay them in a row. :)

BRILLIANT! Just did and got my aqua zippers with the pulls I wanted! Thank you!
No space!
Great video! Love the quilts you are making! I am making the haunted house from Sweet Pea ..it is a lot of fun to make!
Recently watched an older video of you. You were beautiful then but I think you are more beautiful now. I knew you had lost weight but wow you really look younger now!
No I’m not trying to butter you up I just love watching you ❤
Can you demo how to download a design , please.
So intimidating to me.
Where can we buy the Bible verse panel?

What does your shirt say?
I hate binding 😩
Me too! That's why I bind by machine! lol It's the only way I can tolerate it. :)
