I think Broken Social Scene is absolutely greatastic, and have for a long time. In fact, I recall going to a concert of theirs around 2007, a free one outdoors in what must've been the main pavilion in Salt Lake City and, let me tell you, there were about 20,000-30,000 people there, they were crowd surfing, Mormons were ripping off their sacred underwear and the Virgin Mary busted a move so hard it made Jesus cry. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.
I'm not sure, but she said she wrote the song about a childhood friend before performing it live on another video on here. Probably doesn't help you any though, huh.

I listened to this song a lot right after my brother died, in 2005. It helped me through a very hard time in my life. Thanks for this swell video.
